Leap with some Extra Time!

Happy Leap Day!

I thought it fitting with this extra day this year that I should use some of it to make a card! It's even more fitting using the Extra Time set!

Now, this card isn't my usual CAS kinda style I usually make, but I thought I'd do something a little out of my comfort zone and add a few more layers! There seems to be a lot going on but it quite simple really! And, I only used the Extra Time stamp set for this card stamp wise that is!

I started by using the 'Every MOMENT Counts' sentiment stamp and simply stamped it across a piece of kraft CS using Chocolate Chip ink. I then used some chalk inks to add a lil bit of a distressed edge to finish it off. This was adhered to a Chocolate Chip base card.

I knew I wanted the Clocking In & Out card to be a removable embellishment & one that could have a handwritten note on, so I stamped it onto white CS using Crumb Cake ink and cut it out leaving a small border around the card.

It happens to fit perfectly into the library card holder die cut from PTI, so I die cut this from Kraft CS which I adhered to a mat of Pacific Point CS. I thought the blue was a striking colour against the muted browns & I love blue!

I chose my favourite clock face from the set and stamped it in the Pacific Point ink and used a 1 3/4" circle punch to cut it out. I then used foam pads and adhered it to a scallop die cut. I felt the 'Just BECAUSE' fit nicely with the other 2 I have used and it is nice to send people a 'Just BECAUSE' card which I don't do nearly enough. Shame on me!

I hope that you have enjoyed today's card and take note and 'Make Every MOMENT Count'!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs!

Hello Friends!

Hello Friends!

Well, I'm not a 100% but I finally made it into the Studio this afternoon to finish a card I had started before I was ill! It was nice to get back in there but I sure am tired now!

Anyway, I will stop rambling on & show you it ...

It's a super simple card & I have used only the Time stamp set. I had to try out the flowers like Kerry had in this card HERE. I simply stamped the large graphic flower in Raspberry Fizz onto Sweet Blush CS and cut the pointed flower shape out. I then did the same with the medium flower but stamped it with Raspberry Fizz onto Hibiscus Burst CS and cut the pointed flower out. They are adhered together with a foam pad in-between.

The tag is die cut from Kraft CS and mounted on foam pads onto the CS base. I stamped the sentiment along the side of the tag on the base card using Raspberry Fizz it keeps the LO streamlined and is a little quirky than just stamping it horizontally!

I used some foam pads to adhere the flowers to the tag and some gems for the centres and a little bit of Raspberry Fizz satin ribbon to finish it all off. Even though I used foam pads to adhere the embellishments it's not too bulky as they were not thick foam pads so it's fairly mail friendly!

I'm off to do a lil bit more stamp designing before I rest up for the evening!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Uniko Around the World!

Since Uniko Studio stamps launched 2 weeks ago they have been bought & posted to stampers around the world!

I am beyond thrilled at the response to the stamps I have designed and I am SO looking forward to sharing the sets being released SOON, so keep your eyes open & watch this space!

I know I shared a link yesterday to Gayatri's BLOG and creation using Uniko Studio stamps but I thought I'd show you her card here too just incase you missed it!

I just love the POP of blue amongst the kraft cogs, it really draws your focus to the detail of the card.

I have another card to share today by Joan who linked her creation to me via Facebook - don't forget to like the page & follow Uniko Studio there too! You can check out Joan's card on her BLOG too and be sure to check out her other projects & creations!

I love the soft pastel clock faces in the background creating almost a frame for the sentiment. The scalloped black edge and tab of black ribbon add the perfect finishing touches! Lovely!

I'd LOVE to see more creations using Uniko Studio stamps, so either email me a photo or link to your blog and I'll showcase your creations here too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Uniko Mix

Today I thought I'd pop by and share a card with you that shows how Uniko Studio stamps can co-ordinate with other crafting supplies you might have. One thing I love about paper crafting is how TIME has changed and that things like punches and dies make it so easy to cut & layer up images.

For this card I used my favourite clock face from Extra Time & the cog stamp from Time. I cut stripes of card stock in Aqua Mist, Hibiscus Burst & Hawaiian Shores (PTI) and layer them together and stamped the cog image using Basic Grey Ink from SU!

I then stamped the clock face in Memento Black ink & used a 1 3/4" punch to cut it out. I have mounted this onto Smokey Shadow CS die cut with a Limitless Layer 1 3/4" die from PTI. The sentiment is from PTI's Birthday Bash Sentiments.

Loosely this shows how Uniko Studio stamps can be mixed with those you already have and other supplies you already have in your stash!

I have also used some stripes on my card along with a few PTI goodies so it fits perfectly into the current challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey! Go check the challenge out if you haven't already done so!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Shades of Blue

I was in the mood to use my favourite colour today ... blue!

Whilst blog hopping I happened upon a card by Maile Bells on her post HERE. She had used the masking technique and it had me thinking I hadn't used this technique in a while.

So combining some shades of blue to stamp the pocket watch image from TIME and a little masking I came up with this get well card.

I love one layer cards as it makes posting them out super easy! I added a metal clip to the top right just for a little added interest but I wished I'd put it the other side now I look at the photo while I type! Oh well, next time!

Such a super simple & relatively quick card to make if you need a masculine get well card. The most time consuming part of the card is cutting the mask out, but the pocket watch is a reasonable size so it only took minutes! I used 3 inks from SU! Marina Mist, Pacific Point & Night of Navy and I love how they sit together.

This card could easily be suitable for a lady just by switching the colours for pinks or purples & adding a little loop of ribbon instead of the metal.

One more thing before I go to have my tea, did you see THIS over on The Stamp Attic Blog? Yes, I'm out and about again & this time I will be demoing Uniko Studio Stamps at The Stamp Attic on March 10th!

I'd LOVE to see you so pop on by if your in the area - there's other stuff too going on in the shop! Fun Huh!

Thanks for stopping by today!

You Make My Heart Tick!

Happy Valentines Day!

I thought I show you a lil 3x3 inch card I made for my guy for Valentines Day using the NEW Uniko Studio Stamps!

For this lil card I used the large cog image from the Time Set and stamped in on Basic Grey CS from Stampin' Up! using Basic Grey Ink. I then die cut a heart from Soft Stone CS (PTI) using the Sizzix Dies and stamped one of the clock faces from the Extra Time Set in Real Red ink. I used foam pads to adhere the heart to the card front. I then printed the 'You Make My Heart Tick!' sentiment from my computer and trimmed it into a banner shape. This is also mounted on to the base card using foam pads.

And there you have it a masculine valentines card!

I hope you all have a LOVE filled day!

Still TIME to Celebrate!

WOW! I am overwhelmed and delighted with the response so far to the launch of Uniko Studio's debuting stamp sets!

Thank you to those who have purchased them, those who stopped by the demo day at The Paperlane and those who have taken the time to comment here on the blog & also email via the website.

I thought I'd share a couple more cards using the stamps.

For this card I masked off a section of the cog stamp using post it notes & double sided tape for the small areas inked the stamp and took the masking off before stamping. I then used the smaller trio of circles stamp to add some more turquoise and red spots.

Yesterday I forgot to say that the clock faces co-ordinate perfectly with a 1 3/4" circle punch or die.

Below is another super simple card using just one clock face & sentiment. I've used green which is a colour I don't use enough!

After stamping the white panel with the clock I simply added some faux stitching using a fine liner . The sentiment banner is adhered to the card using foam pads & has a couple of nail heads at either end.

I'll be back during the week to share more projects using the sets. Before I go today I just wanted to share a couple of cards made by my FAB design team that really wowed me!

Firstly this card from Kerry ...

The flowers & leaves on this card made me say WOW! I had not thought of using them like that and it's something I will be having a go at this week!

Secondly I had to share this card from Aimes ...

I love the simplicity of this design yet it has so much detail & really shows off the sentiment. Today Aimes has shared a couple more cards over on her BLOG using the sets and I just had to share this card too ...

Just look at how Aimes has created a lovely snowflake/doily image using the clock hands! Genius! With all the clock hands in both the sets you could create a multitude of different snowflake/doily patterns! Another thing I will be having a play at this week!

I just thought I would share an update too, the website shop now has an add to cart button for those in the USA & Rest of World so you can now purchase the stamps with ease!

Also Uniko Studio is on Flickr - see side bar with a group to add your Uniko Studio Stamped projects too & also it makes it easier for you to view what the DT has created!

Thanks for stopping by!

February 2012 Stamp Set Reveal

The day has finally arrived, I cannot contain the excitement any longer! Below are the two stamp sets in their entirety. Grab a drink and maybe something to munch on while you're introduced to Uniko Studio's Debuting Stamp Sets!

So there you have it, Uniko Studio's debuting stamp sets! what do you think?

Now, I can hear you thinking ... hmmm they're a little pricey. So now I'm going to tell you a little bit about the stamp sets and how they come packaged. You might think differently then!

Uniko Studio Stamps are high quality photopolymer stamps manufactured here in the UK. They are designed by myself & lovingly packaged by myself in my studio - for now anyway! As you can see from the photo above they come all ready to use in these handy dandy DVD type cases. FAB huh?!

All the designs of the stamps contained inside are on the front displayed at 65%. The sets are slightly larger than the common 4 x 6" sets that other companies sell, Uniko sets are approximately 5 1/2 x 8" inch sets. So you're getting a lot more stamp for your money!

The name of the set is along the spine of the case so you can simply store them on a shelf or in a box & see what each set is without having to take each one out individually. Plus the cases are thin and won't take up too much valuable space in your crafting area in the house!

The picture above shows how they look inside the case. They come all placed in the case ready for you to use, no assembly required! The only packaging waste is the cellophane wrapper they come in.

So what do you think now?!

So how about some eye candy?! I have a few projects to share that I have made using the stamps and I'll post some links too so you can pop on over to the Design Teams Blogs to see what they have created. Even I haven't seen what they have done! I got a tiny peek the other day of one of Kerry's creations and I was 'WOWED' beyond words with what she had done!

The card above is one of my favourites! It is because of the clean lines of the card mixed with the round clocks that are so clean and graphic! I also love this colour combination, the splash of red in amongst the black, shades of grey & white really draws your attention!

When I designed this set I wanted it to be clean and graphic orientated towards making cards for men as you all know how hard it is making cards for the men in our lives! I did A LOT of research as to what was on the market & the style & wanted to make mine different! Even though the images are clean & graphic there is no reason why you can't use them in a grungy or vintage way, thats what makes them so versatile!

This card uses just the 'Time' stamp set & is the card that people will be making at the make & take with Uniko Studio at The Paperlane Demo Day today! So, if you're in the area pop along and have a try before you buy!

Now, even though I designed the set to me more masculine I couldn't resist adding a feminine touch to this set to give it more versatility and appeal for the crafter! Below are a few of more feminine cards.

For the above I used the medium & small flower image which appears in the centre of one of the clock faces & simply used my Copic markers to add a splash of colour.

Now for something more colourful to warm you up on this cold February day! Again, I used the smaller flower & stamped it repeatedly in a rainbow of colours. Then adding a small gem to the centres for some sparkle! The ribbon loops at the bottom match the stamped flowers and adds some interest to the card.

Below is one more feminine card. I really love how this one turned out.

I've got one more project to share with you today. As I am a UK company I decided to use the colours of the Union Jack Flag to inspire me.

I hope you have enjoyed the projects I have shared with you today & like the look of the stamps too *WINK*.

Hopefully the website will be up an running so you can purchase them. As I type this post I have a poorly Fiance who is also my website tech guy who collapsed at work today :( so I'm sure you will understand if there is a slight delay.

Anyway, there is still Kerry & Aimes' Blogs to check out so pop on over to them to see what they have whipped up!

If you are in the vicinity of The Paperlane or The Stamp Attic the sets can be purchased at those shops!

Thanks SO much for stopping by, I'd love you to leave me a comment as to what you think about Uniko Studio Stamps!!

Uniko Studio Design Team - Kerry

WOW!

I'm truly grateful for everyone for leaving such lovely comments on the blog & I am glad there is some excitement out there about my new stamp company!

I'm back today to introduce the second FABULOUS Design Team member and without further ado I introduce you to Kerry.

Firstly I am truly grateful to be able to call Kerry a best friend and a true ROCK. I first met Kerry back in 2009 when I joined a local craft club after I found a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in my area. Since then Kerry & I have enjoyed some crafting fun & many a Jolly Girls Outing to craft shops around the UK.

Kerry's crafting style is FABULOUS & LAYERLICIOUS! Kerry's eye for detail is amazing, her Copic colouring skills to die for and the layers & usage of patterned paper is stunning. Not only is Kerry a DT member for Uniko Studio but you can also see her creations on The Stamp Attic Blog & The Paperlane Blog.

Kerry is one talented lady & I'm glad to have her as part of the team. You can also check out her creations HERE on her blog. Be sure to pop on over & be wowed! I've selected a few projects below which showcase her style.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the first peeks at the first Uniko Studio Stamp Sets being released on Saturday!

Uniko Studio Design Team - Amy Wanford

Today I am excited as the fun really begins to start for Uniko Studio & I get to introduce one of the two members (for now *wink*) of the design team.

Now, this lady probably won't need much of an introduction to some of you as she IS amazing when it comes to CAS cards!

I am excited & honoured to introduce the AMAZING and talented .... Amy Wanford!

I first came across Amies when I found out about Papertrey Ink & the A Passion for Papertrey Ink Blog. I was lucky enough to meet Aimes at a fun filled stamping, card making day back in October 2010 & she is as lovely as her blog posts read.

Welcome aboard Aimes! I'm SO excited to see the magic she has worked with the 2 stamp sets, but I am being good and waiting till Saturday 11th Feb like you do to see what she has created! If you haven't stopped by Aimes' BLOG. Go have a look it's CAS fantastic!

So as I don't have a card to share, so I thought I'd pick a few of Aimes' projects to show how amazing she is & what inspiration I have sought from Aimes.

As you can see she can work wonders with a stamp! Not only is Aimes now a design team member for Uniko Studio, but she is already one of the 3 behind A Passion For Papertrey Blog Challenges, a design team member for CASE Study Blog but also has some amazing achievements in the crafting world.

To state a few of these achievements Aimes has been published in both CARDS magazine & PAPERCRAFTS magazine! AND she also made it in the TOP 5 of Gallery Idol last year 2011. Well Done Aimes! You can check out more of her successes over on her blog.

So, thats it for today I am afraid, BUT I will be back tomorrow (on time if I can get this scheduling thing worked out again & it doesn't erase my post!) with another FABULOUS design team member!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Wednesday 1 February 2012

Introducing .....

The time has come for me to share something exciting! My new venture into the world of business, so without further ado;

Introducing...

Uniko Studio will feature high quality photopolymer stamps designed & manufactured here in the UK. If things go well I hope to branch out with other crafting supplies.

Since starting & graduating with a first class honours, from a degree in Surface Pattern Design I knew that my new path in life would be a creative one. I have always been creative & enjoyed the hobby of making cards for as long as I can remember. I decided in my final 2 years of my degree that I would combine my love for designing with my hobby & create a new business venture!

Uniko Studio will officially open on Saturday 11th February 2012. Up until that day I will be introducing you to the 2 members of my design team & showing you a few sneak peeks of the first stamp sets to be released!

On the 11th February Uniko Studio will also be at The Paperlane Demo Day in Northallerton from 10am - 4pm. There you will be able to meet me, see the stamps in real life & even join me in a make & take using some of the new stamps!

I hope that you are as excited as I am about this new adventure!!
