Celebrate With Silver Stars!

Hey & Happy Hump Day!

Gosh, how this week is flying by and I feel totally behind on all my 'to do' list tasks! At least I got this one ticked off ;)

Today I am sharing a card I made a while back, but as the stamps I have used were out of stock I kept it back to share when they were available again!

I've used the popular Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots and Background Builders: Seeing Stars clear stamps, paired with a sentiment from Simply Said Blocks. All of which are now available on the Uniko website.

I am absolutely loving these two In Colours from Stampin' Up! Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist, such a fresh and zingy colour combination. It certainly adds much needed colour to this grey Autumn, almost Winter day here in the NE of the UK!

I've used a little tone on tone stamping for the polka dot background, using my MISTI and my Stampin' Up! markers. The stars and sentiment are stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Personal Impressions Silver Dollar EP.

I adhered the sentiment strip and the outline star using half thickness foam adhesive and embellished with a few Stampin' Up! enamel dots.

That's all from me today, I had better make a dent in the 'to do' list whilst the Beans are at nursery. They are on a trip today to a local Wildlife Park to do The Gruffalo Trail, this term their learning through play is centred around books by Julie Donaldson. I am sure they are loving it as we often take them to this park and so do their grandparents!

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you enjoyed todays card.
Hugs

CAS Colours & Sketches #174

Hey!

Yay! It's time for a new challenge over HERE at CAS Colours & Sketches, this week is colour week. Our hostess this month, Caro has a theme for her chosen colour combos and that is the Stampin' Up! retiring In Colours. This week is Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon with Metallic Silver added in for good measure!

Unfortunately I don't have any of the retiring In Colours, so I have selected the closest match I have in my ink collections to create my card...

I decided to ink up a couple of the Uniko May 2016 revisited clear stamp sets, Flower Power #3 and Natures Treasures II, which the DT showcased recently, HERE. The sentiment is from Flower Power #5. I will be back later today to announce the winner of the Design Team Blog Hop too ;)

Anyway, I needed a little more help to spark my creativity last night and decided to use the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below for my card layout.

Hopefully you will see in the photo below that I added some sparkle to the open parts of the leaves using my clear Wink Of Stella pen. I also added a trio of tiny rhinestones for a little CAS embellishment.

Ok, that's all from me just now, I will be back later today to announce the winner of the Uniko May 2016 Design Team Blog Hop.

Until then, thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you over in the CAS Colours & Sketches gallery HERE. Be sure to check out all the wonderful CC&S DT inspiration too ;)

CAS Colours & Sketches #161

Hey!

Welcome back to another fun week & challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month our hostess is Stef and this week she has inspired us with another fun colour challenge HERE and seen below.

Shades of purple are not my go to colours and adding in metallic silver had me thrown for a little bit. After I had made my card using the nearest colours I have to those above, I realised I have used the same flowers as the last colour challenge...

Beautiful Blooms II is a lovely flower to stamp in two shades of the same colour :) I used VersaMagic Purple Hydrangea for the outline and Spring Pansy for the centre detail. The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Cosmos and embossed in Silver Dollar.

As you can see in the close up the Silver Dollar EP adds a lovely shine to the sentiment and I finished the card of by adding a few tiny white crystal sequins. So, I'll be adding my card to the current challenge HERE over at AAA Cards, which is to use sequins :)

That's all from me just now, I hope to see you over in the CC&S gallery and be sure to check out the rest of the CC&S Design Team creations HERE.

Holly Jolly Christmas CAS Style!

Hey!

Sorry for being MIA for a few days, my creative mojo took a little wander and is taking it's time in returning! Do you ever have times when you lack creativity & what do you do to get it back? I'd love to know it's not just me ;)

I'm also feeling a little under the weather today, I seem to have caught the beans cold :( and the poor little beans are teething along with their cold & are full on clingy during the day. So, my card today is super CAS...

I decided to play along with the current CAS Colours & Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below. This time around I decided to go festive, I think a little bit of panic has set in that I have less than a month now to organise myself!

For my card I have paired the 'Holly Jolly' label from Labelled Christmas with the 2 step stamping holly & berries from Background Builders: Christmas. I used the same colours as I did for my GD card for CC&S HERE, VersaMagic Oasis Green, SU! Calypso Coral & Encore Silver. To enhance the silver label I foam mounted it onto some SU! sparkle paper.

They are also having a DT call at CAS Colours & Sketches, be sure to check it out. Ok, that's all from me today, I can hear movement on the beans monitor, so I think it'll be back to mummy duty in a few!

Until the next time, thank you for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas Day 14

Hey!

"Deck the Halls, with Boughs of Holly" she sings in her most angelic voice! Yep, I'm a traditional gal when it comes to putting up the Christmas decorations. They were never put up early when we were kids, they always went up around the 12th Dec and ALWAYS come down before the 6th Jan!

Anyway, I thought I would share one of the decorations I've made that is decorating the fireplace this year...

It just had to be done, a snowflake garland! I was inspired by N@Ali 's creation HERE which she made whilst guest designing for Uniko Studio back in October. I really did like the idea of the ribbon stringing the snowflakes, but I wanted them to hang & loop a little more so I used so jewellery fixings.

As you can see from the photos I went for silver snowflakes as the fixings in our living room are silver and they really stand out against the Egyptian Cotton colour of our fireplace. I used silver shimmer card stock and added some extra sparkle with some Cosmic Shimmer Silver Glitter added to each of the snowflakes using my quickie glue pen.

I'm super pleased as to how this turned out and it didn't take me as long as I had imagined it would, which is a bonus! It took me about 2 hrs in total and the longest part of the process was glittering the snowflakes. As you can see I have two reindeer stocking hangers which are keeping the garland in place. Now all I have to do is get all the other decorations up to make the room feel even more Christmassy, which along with a few other things is my main objective today!

That's all from me today and I hope you've enjoyed todays project? I will be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Seize THE Snowflake!

Hey & Happy Black Friday!

If you fancy grabbing yourself a FABULOUS bargain today through to Monday then pop on over to the Uniko Studio website HERE.

Ok, so on to todays card...

Now, this super shimmery & CAS beauty took me less than 10 minutes to make, I think I have found my last minute, all hands on deck, panic stations Christmas card! I used the current Seize the Sketch HERE and seen below for the basic layout of my card.

I've used white shimmer card for the base and silver shimmer card for the snowflake. The sentiment label from Label Love: Thank you is stamped in silver pigment & embossed with star dust EP and the sentiment is from Label Love: Christmas. It really does shimmer & sparkle IRL which is hard to see in the photos but trust me it's there.

Ok, I had best get to packing some lovely customer orders ;) Be sure to check out the bargains HERE and tomorrow is also Super FREE Saturday :) So I hope to see you tomorrow too! Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Decorative Doilies!

Hey!

Happy Friday Eve as Aimes would say, I am liking that phrase as I am looking forward to the weekend, it's been a long & challenging week here in the studio!

Also, it is World Card Making Day on Saturday - YAY! A whole day dedicated to making cards and all things paper crafting. Have you any crafting planned?

I have, I am at The Paperlane where I will be doing a demo from 10am - 2pm and a card making class from 2pm - 5pm. There are still a couple of places left for the class, I'd LOVE you to join us for some paper crafting fun :)

Anyway, on to todays card...

Yep, I dusted off those doilies again to create another CAS Christmas card easy to mass produce, when I realise I am running out of time & haven't been as organised as I planned! This time I have turned them into bauble doilies which sparkle, you have to have a bit of sparkle at Christmas, don't you think?

I used 3 of the doilies from the set and stamped them in Silver pigment ink & heat embossed them with some stardust embossing powder. The string is hand drawn with a ruler and the bows are stamped from Label Love: Birthday.

That's all from me today, I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday & thank you for stopping by today :)

Card Stock: WPlus9 White, SU! Bermuda Bay
Ink: Silver Pigment Ink, Versafine Onyx Black

A Wonderful Washi Christmas!

Hey!

Have your self a Wonderful Washi Christmas...

Today's card uses Uniko Studio's Wonderful Washi: Christmas and I created my own Washi tape using some 1" wide double sided tape and some Silver tissue paper. I made some of this in my demo on Saturday at The Paper Lane and it was SO much fun!

Making Your Own Washi Tape is simple, just stamp your Wonderful Washi ribbon onto one side of the tissue paper and let it dry for a few minutes. Apply 1" wide double sided tape to the reverse of the tissue paper where you stamped the design. It's easy to see as the tissue paper is so thin. Trim design out and apply to project! Voila! Your own Washi Tape!

On the snowflake Washi design I added some stickler but you could also emboss your Washi Ribbon and use sparkly embossing powders. The possibilities are endless & I'm sure you'll be seeing a few more home made Washi tapes on projects in the near future!

This card is perfect to share on the Young Crafters Unite! challenge blog HERE whose challenge is to create a card for the up coming holidays - not too hard!

Well, there's many more cards to be made so I had better crack on!

Thanks for stopping by.

Modern Christmas

Hey!

Today is a good day & I've been looking forward to it since my old friends from work told me about it and invited  me. This afternoon I am off to Edinburgh for 2 nights for a Hen party which will include lots of laughs, catching up with old friends and making new friends, a spa afternoon, fancy dress & probably copious amounts of alcohol!

Not to worry though I have a Modern Christmas project to share with you today & scheduled posts for tomorrow, Sunday & Monday - yep, it might take me that long to recover! It's been a while since I was on the loose with these girls!

So, today's project is a Modern Christmas collection of cards...

For this little trio of cards I have used a modern non traditional Christmas colour scheme consisting of Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores & Raspberry Fizz. I've also kept it modern with those Doily Snowflakes, yep it's those sparkly doily snowflakes again!

My card layout uses the current Retro Sketch seen HERE and below...

This was quite a layered sketch but I'm really happy how CAS I have managed to keep my card trio. I opted to use a silver shimmer CS for the 4 strips behind the main image panel which helps keep it CAS. If I had used patterned strips as I originally intended to it would have made the cards to busy & not CAS enough for a CAS girl like me!

Here is a shot of one of the cards on their own...

And a close up of the sparkly doily snowflake...

I really am quite addicted to sparkly silver doily snowflakes! This little card trio is also suitable for the current 'Less Is More' Challenge HERE to use silver.

Well, that's all from me today, I hope your not too sick of seeing more doily snowflakes! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Have a FAB weekend.
Hugs
