BIG June Release Design Team Blog Hop!

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by today as it's the BIG June Release Design Team Blog Hop! Back on the 11th June HERE when Uniko Studio released the latest products many of the Design Team members were away on their jollies and so I though it would be nice to have another release day hop so that everyone could join in. This also means that there is another PRIZE up for grabs which will be announced at the end of the post!

All the products release back on the 11th can be viewed HERE and HERE, so I won't bore you with that again instead I'll jump straight to a few projects...

On this first card I have used 3 of the June Release clear stamp sets, Flower Power #2, Background Builders Chevrons & Natures Treasures I. I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below for the position of all the elements and I used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below for my colour scheme.

I'm pleased with how this card turned out by kind of wished I had added some grey chevrons to the note book page die cut to add a little more interest. Or perhaps have stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the note book page instead of underneath.

My next card today uses another of my favourites from this release (as some of you may know already!)...

Yep, it's Beautiful Blooms! This time I paired the blooms with some white embossed chevrons and a sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday. I used the current Play Date Cafe challenge colours again seen HERE and below as I'm really liking the combo!

In hindsight again I wished I had not added the black leaves to the middle flower which has a good splash of glitter!

I've one more card to share with you all before we get to the hopping! This card is more masculine and uses another 2 of the June Release clear stamp sets...

I combined Accent Essentials: Arrows and the HAPPY from All Occasion Sentiments #2, the birthday sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. I wasn't completely happy with this card either! Mainly due to the placement of the two arrows on the lower right, they're not quite aligned with the sentiment.

Ok, thats enough from me lets get to the hop! Now, like with all Uniko Studio's Release Day hops there is a PRIZE up for grabs for this hop as it is still technically a Release Day hop! The prize is the ENTIRE June Release (6 stamp sets) or the equivalent if you already own them. I'm also throwing in a few surprises too. All you have to do to be in the chance of winning is to comment along the hop and you have until Mignight July 1st to comment. The winner will be drawn and announced here on the blog on the 2nd July.

Order of the hop incase there is a broken link:

Super FREE Saturday - Summer Bloom

Hey!

I'm SO glad you stopped by the blog today as I've a treat in store for you all :) Yep, it's time for another Super FREE Saturday...

This Super FREE Saturday collection is called Summer Bloom and it can be downloaded for FREE via the Uniko Studio website HERE. Simply register if you haven't already and download the file - easy!

This collection features a solid and linear bloom, leaf stem and one sentiment. The images come as individual Photoshop brushes (CS5) and also transparent PNG files.

How about a card showing you how I've used the collection...

I created a super simple card which was really easy to do. I started out by creating a 10 cm x 14 cm document in Photoshop. I then selected the solid stem and leaves, changed the colour and adjusted the size of my brush and stamped it on my document. I then stamped the sentiment and also the linear bloom.

I then transferred this document into an A4 document to print, but before I printed it out I chose another Uniko Studio Digital Downloadable Collection - Round In Circles and selected a small piece of one of the patterned papers. I then stamped the linear flower over the top. I used my bucket tool to fill in some of the areas of the bloom and then printed my document.

I trimmed the mat layer to size and mounted it onto my base card and then fussy cut the bloom out and adhered it slightly off centre using foam adhesive, I added a little touch of glitter and left it at that!

If you download the collection and use it I'd LOVE to see your projects, why not upload them to the Uniko Studio Flickr Group HERE or send me a link to your project on your blog or you can even email me a photo!

That's NOT all from me this morning, I'll be back in 30 minutes with the BIG June Release Design Team Blog Hop, Enjoy!

Pastel Gerberas

Hey, Happy Friday!

Are you excited it's the weekend? I sure am as it's the BIG Design Team June Release Blog Hop tomorrow here at Uniko Studio AND it's Super FREE Saturday too - Whoop Whoop! You won't want to miss out on any of the fun so be sure to pop back tomorrow at 9am GMT.

Anyway, back to today's card...

YAY, for Pure Florals: Gerbera & FONTiments - Birthday being back in stock over HERE on the website! I know it's taken me a while to restock - apologies for that, I'm still getting to grips with everything involved with Uniko Studio & it is just me who does ALMOST everything!

So, I dusted off & inked up my trusty Gerbera stamp and simply did some flat Copic colouring using the current Play Date Cafe challenge colours seen HERE and below. The sentiment is from Flower Power #2 and I added a few Swarovski rhinestones for a bit of sparkle.

That's all from me today but I will be back tomorrow with a jam packed post of eye candy! Hope to see you tomorrow & thanks for stopping by.

Beautiful Pastel Blooms

Hey!

I was about to say Happy Friday as I seem to be a day ahead of myself, a little wishful thinking too maybe - Haha! Anyway, Happy Thursday, I hope you're all having a good week? It's all GO and good in the studio and time seems to be zooming by. I did however find a little inky time this afternoon to create this card...

I saw the new CAS - Colours & Sketches Blog challenge seen HERE and below and the new The Play Date Cafe challenge colours HERE and below and instantly reached for Beautiful Blooms I stamp set. I just LOVE inking up this bloom and it looks beautiful in these colours, don't you think?

I created a mask and stamped the bloom along the edge to create a nice layered effect and then I stamped the bloom on a separate piece of card stock in pink and fussy cut it out, which is therapy for me! Ok, so dies are needed as it would speed the process up a little and everyone loves a coordinating die - watch this space!

I decided that a black sentiment would be a bit harsh for this card so decided to use SU! Going Grey instead and I also used it for the leaves of the bloom. A little bit of glitter and depth by adhering the bloom using foam adhesive and I was done!

Ok, I think that is all from me tonight, I'll be back tomorrow however with more to share! Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Mail Friendly or Male Friendly...?

Hey!

How are we all? I'm a little later than usual posting today mainly because I had a day catching up on housework (it's been a while) and also my creative mojo took a little wander! I think it is back though as I have 2 cards to share with you tonight. Both cards are mail friendly & also in my opinion male friendly too...

What do you think? I've played about with angles on both my card and accentuated them with arrows from Accent Essentials: Arrows. I added small amounts of glitter for that extra something I think they both needed!

I also used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below as I think they are rather yummy together and not a colour combination I would have plucked out of nowhere!

Anyway, that's all from me today. I hope you liked todays cards & I just want to say 'HELLO' and thank you to all my new followers and those who have been following me for sometime, I'm glad you like my creations and find me inspirational in your creative journey. All your comments are SO appreciated and I read each and everyone (not just because I have comment moderation on). I don't profess to be a paper crafting expert, I do it because I enjoy it and like to share what I do and if you do too then that makes me HaPpY!

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful Zesty Bloom

Hey!

How are we all today? Did you enjoy yesterdays feature? If you missed it you can catch up on it HERE and HERE

I'm back today with a Beautiful Zesty Bloom to add some zing to your day...

It's been a while since I inked up the Beautiful Blooms I set and it was perfect for this zesty Play Date Cafe challenge colour combination seen HERE and below...

I used a really CAS layout for my card letting the images and colours take the focus of the card. I kept the sentiment simple too which is from Flower Power #2.

That's all from me today, keeping it short and sweet today. I'm off out this morning to check in at NeST Gallery in Barnard Castle where I have some of my other design work for sale, fingers crossed for some sales! Then this afternoon I will be getting my sketch book out to do some new designs for future releases - bliss!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Iron Craft

Hey!

Happy Monday :) I'm a little later than usual for a reason as I am starting off the week with a FABulous feature.

A while back Chaitali from Iron Craft, Cuts, Crops & Creativity contacted me to see if I'd be interested in joining her for an Iron Craft challenge which is featured on her blog every Monday, you can read more about it HERE and also see the previous Iron Craft features. Well I couldn't say no as you know I LOVE a challenge!

Lets get to it!

The ingredients...

I decided on the Uniko Studio stamp set to use seen above and also threw in a digital patterned paper collection seen below for good measure!

Chaitali thought it would be fun to use a sketch and decided on the current CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below.

And with all that this is what I created...

Not so much white space as I usually like, but it's good to step outside of your comfort zone now & then! I used the Rock 'n' Roll technique on my flowers and the leaves are cut from the stamp and popped behind the flowers...

I hope you like todays card, be sure to pop over to Chaitali's blog HERE to see her creation using the ingredients. There is also a Uniko Stuio Gift Certificate up for grabs!!

Ok, that's all from me today as it's a busy one here after the Weekend Free Worldwide Shipping special, lots more orders to post, Oh, and some stock reordering to do!!

Thanks to everyone who ordered, your custom is truly appreciated and I hope you enjoy using your new goodies and I'd LOVE to see your creations, remember to drop me an email with a link so I can pop by and leave a comment!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Butterflies

Hey!

How is everyone? I do hope your having a lovely weekend. The weather isn't so great here in the North of the UK, perfect weather to stay in the studio crafting!

Today's card is one I made yesterday...

I used a couple of challenges for my card too. Firstly I used the current Fusion challenge HERE and seen below. I just love the sketch and there are so many colour options and themes you could use from the inspiration photo. I used the inspiration for my colour choices and kept the brights muted by placing a vellum butterflies over the top of the coloured patterned butterflies.

The reason for choosing butterflies was because of the current 'Less is more' challenge HERE, which is to create a birthday card for Jen, Jen likes butterflies and so that is the reason for my butterflies! I'm super happy with how this card turned out!

Friday was Midsummer Solstice here in the UK and the Northern Hemisphere, so to celebrate Uniko Studio has an offer on of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on ALL orders, not just those over £50! Be sure to pop on over and take advantage of this special offer as it ends TODAY Midnight BST!

That's all from me today, I'm going to sort a few things in the studio, organise myself for the coming week and make a few more cards!

I hope you all have a lovely day & thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Duo...

Hey, Happy Weekend!

Yesterday was Midsummer Solstice here in the UK and the Northern Hemisphere, so to celebrate Uniko Studio has an offer on of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on ALL orders, not just those over £50! Be sure to pop on over and take advantage of this special offer as it ends Sunday Midnight BST!

Ok, on to todays cards, I've a birthday theme going on and created this duo...

My first card uses one of my 'go to' sentiments from All Occasion Sentiments #2, the birthday sentiment! This time I paired it with a partial sentiment from Label Love: Birthday and the smaller arrows from Accent Essentials: Arrows.

I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! for the layout of my card which can be seen HERE and below. I really like how the bright arrows 'POP' against the neutral background :)

My next card for today uses the same colour combination and theme but I've used a mixture of different stamps (I'm trying to show some other Uniko Studio Clear Stamps some LOVE!)...

I started out by stamping the label from Label Love: Christmas in various bright colours using the masking technique. I then stamped the celebrate sentiment from Flower Power #2 and the small bow from Label Love: Birthday. I wish I had left the Happy Birthday sentiment off in hindsight, but I added a bit of faux stitching and a few rhinestones to the bow centres to finish the card.

That's all from me today, it seems quite in the studio today as Abbie my intern isn't here, but I'm sure I will find plenty to occupy myself with though! I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then thanks for stopping by.

Abbie.

Hi everyone!

I am soon to be graduate from CCAD in Hartlepool with a BA (Hons) Textiles and Surface Design, I've just finished my degree show which looked fab! Hope you all got a chance to see it!!

If you want to find out more about me you can check out my facebook page here.

I've been helping Beverley out this week whilst on works experience and I've loved it!  She let me have a play with the amazing stamps at Uniko Studio and I really didn't know which ones to use or where to start, I was let loose with all the ink pads too so as usual I started with bright colours.  I used a stamp to build the background and then used different colours to build a background for my butterfly before adding in a little note on the bottom.

I then decided to make another card which was a bit more basic and not my usual style, I used very toned down colours for me which was a bit of a challenge, but then again who doesn't like a challenge?  I used a plain white background with red berries and little flowers with some green leaves, also a little 'just for you' note added to the bottom.

The stamps are amazing, I found it so easy to mix the sets to create a total different feel.  They are easy to clean and store away, you should definitely check out Uniko Studio website here and look at all the gorgeous sets that are on offer!

Happy Stamping Everyone!!
