Simple Flower

Hey!

Happy Tuesday :) How's your week going so far? I'm still having fun in London and hopefully if the weather stays nice either today or tomorrow we will have a trip to Kew Gardens. I have never been but I've been told how pretty & inspirational the flowers are there.

Talking of flowers I have a simple floral card to share today...

I used the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below. This was such a quick card to make and would look FABulous in all kinds of colour variations.

I had to substitute the Dusty Durango for Tangerine Tango and the Groovy Guava for Calypso Coral which is a little bit too dark, but it was the closest colour I had in my stash. It's hard to see on the photo above that there is a difference in the solid & linear flower colours as it is VERY subtle. It's slightly clearer on this photo...

That's all from me today, I will be back later this week with more to share. Until then...thanks for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration - Christmas in July

uniko iron craft

Stacey here with a little Christmas in July inspiration!  Chaitali over at Cuts, Crops and Creativity invited me for the Iron Craft Challenge using Uniko Studio's Text Style Christmas Digital Patterned Paper Collection with the Christmas in July theme!  How fun is that?!

I'll be giving away this fabulous Text Style Christmas Digital Patterned Paper Collection to one lucky someone who leaves a comment at Stacey's Stamping Stage, and/or at Cuts, Crops and Creativity.

The Label Love: Christmas stamp set was a perfect choice to pair up with the beautiful papers...I inked up a couple of the labels in Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler ink, fussy-cut them, and propped them up on a few layers of Text Style Christmas digital paper!

I hope you feel inspired to create something amazing today...a Christmas in July project, perhaps?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Stripes

Happy Sunday!

How are we all today? Did you enjoy the Super FREE Saturday yesterday? If you missed out on the fun you can check it out HERE. There is still plenty of time to join in on the first Uniko Studio Challenge HERE too, I'd LOVE you to join in (it would make me VERY happy to see a few more entries).

Anyway, I do have a super simple birthday card to share which would be suitable for either gender...

I saw the current Addicted to Stamps & More! challenge HERE and they have this lovely inspirational photo shown below to create from.

Now, I don't own any stripe stamps and I wanted my card to be mail friendly & flat so I got creative. I used the back of one of the background building stamps from Background Builders: Round In Circles, totally not my invention, I have seen it done many a time, but never actually gave it a go until now!

What do you think? I'm pleased with how it turned out and it's definitely a way of stretching those supplies. My card also fits into one of the challenges over on Moxie FAB World HERE. Check all the birthday challenges out in the sidebar.

Today is my first full day in London and Kerry & I are meeting up with a friend Wendy who owns the Stamp Attic and we are spending the day with a little FREE pampering session at Joe Malone & lots of chatting & giggles I expect!

I hope you all have a FAB day & thanks for stopping by today :)

Super FREE Saturday - "Hello" Speech Cloud

Hey!

Welcome to another Super FREE Saturday here at Uniko Studio. This month brings you a super trendy digital collection featuring speech clouds, lots of "hello's" and a modern floral digital patterned paper, check it out...

This Super FREE Saturday collection can be downloaded for FREE via the Uniko Studio website HERE. Simply register on the website if you haven't already and download the file - easy!

How about a couple of projects using the collection...

For my first card I used one of the cloud speech bubbles, digitally stamping it in a turquoise colour and then sizing one of the "hello" sentiments to fit inside, I then printed it & cut it out. I decided to pair it with Background Builders: Chevrons and the friend sentiment from Time.

Keeping with the "Hello" theme I made a second card using the digital patterned paper in the collection & simply printed and die cut a couple of BRIGHT Butterflies, the sentiment is again from Time.

For my last card using the collection I decided to change the theme to make a simple birthday card...

I started out by creating a document 13.5cm x 10cm in Photoshop and place the digital paper into my document & resizing it slightly & moving it down to a small section. (Note, I printed all the pieces for each card onto one A4 sheet of 160gsm paper). I then printed the document and trimmed it to size before stamping my sentiment from Flower Power #2. I fussy cut two flowers from the paper and adhered them using glue dots for a slight bit of dimension and added some bling to finish.

That's all the projects I have to share today using the collection. If you download the collection and use it I'd LOVE to see your projects, why not upload them to the Uniko Studio Flickr Group HERE or send me a link to your project on your blog or you can even email me a photo!

You could also enter your card / project HERE in the Uniko Studio Challenge as the theme of this collection fits in perfectly with the challenge theme!

A few of the Design Team have created projects using the collection, links to their blogs are below...

I hope you enjoy the freebie! Thanks for stopping by today :)

Black & Gold

Hey & Happy Friday!

Whoop! It's the weekend & tomorrow I will be travelling down to London for a few days for a part bachelorette getaway & part birthday celebration for Kerry. I'm looking forward to a bit of down time as when I get back it will be 31 day till we go away & there is still things to be done & organised.

I'm quite impressed however with my organisation this week as I have been very creative in the studio creating lots of projects to share with you all over the few days whilst I am away. Including today's card...

When I saw the current CASology code word HERE and below I knew I had to make a card to fit in with the challenge! I never been a big lover of gold, but since it's revival & current trending status it has grown on me some what.

I decided to pair gold up with black for a striking yet sophisticated look and I'm really pleased with the result. The leaves & sentiment are both stamped & embossed onto the black base card and the bloom is stamped & embossed, fussy cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

That's all from me today, I had better complete a few more jobs here in the studio & finish packing! Thanks for stopping by today :)

Celebrate!

Hey!

I'm super busy but unusually organised here in the studio and my mojo seems to have returned which is good timing as I am preparing projects to share using the upcoming August Release - yep, that's right your eyes didn't deceive you! It's not long now until I'll be sharing Sneak Peeks!

Anyway, I've this card to share with you using Beautiful Blooms I paired with Background Builders: Round In Circles...

It's not a colour scheme I'd usually turn to, but I quite like how striking it is. I used the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours seen HERE and below and added some glitter to those blooms again, making it appropriate for the current Addicted to CAS challenge HERE.

It's hard to capture how sparkly this card is in a photo, it just doesn't do it justice! I decided to use a 'celebrate' sentiment seeing as the UK is celebrating the birth of the Duke & Duchess' Prince. Such a happy time and making me broody!

Ok, that's all from me today, there is much to be done as I am off for a little spinster (bachelorette) getaway to London for a few days :) I will have posts scheduled here on the blog while I am away to keep you all entertained & we also have a Super FREE Saturday on the blog this weekend!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

Congratulations!

Hey!

Today I have a Congratulations card to share, which I made for an old friend who got married at the weekend. As I didn't know the colours for their wedding I kept the colour scheme neutral but classic...

I combined Beautiful Blooms I with the large Congratulations from All Occasion Sentiments #1 and simply embossed them with Cosmic Shimmer True White EP (my FAVE). I added a little touch of glitter to the blooms for it to sparkle & adhered the panel using foam adhesive.

Another CAS card, but my creative juices seem to be flowing again - YAY! So, I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Thinking Of You...

Hey!

It seems ages since I last posted here on the blog, I know I popped in briefly with a card for the NEW Uniko Studio Challenge HERE, but I have been lacking in mojo to create. I'm super grateful for my FABulous DT have kept things going for me here on the blog. Thanks to Amber's post HERE and Gayatri's post HERE.

Anyway, I finally found a little mojo to create this card...

I managed to squeeze 3 challenges into this CAS Thinking Of You card! I wanted to let you the readers know that whatever I may be up to, I am always thinking of you all :)

The 3 challenges I used were the current Retro Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The current Play Date Cafe challenge colours seen HERE and below and the current Addicted to CAS challenge HERE which is Glitter!

I hope I have inspired you a little today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. It's all a buzz here in the UK as we wait for the exciting news of the arrival of the Royal Baby, AND I am beyond excited for my upcoming holiday & WEDDING! It's only 39 days now till we fly to the USA and if I'm like this now, I dread to think how I will be nearer the time! Haha!

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration - Inspired by Pinterest!

 Hello everybody,

Gayatri here once again! I was browsing through Pinterest and saw this picture. I immediately thought of Background Builder: Round in Circles Stamp Set from Uniko Studio. Pinterest never fails to inspire me. Never! If you are not on Pinterest, you are missing out on something awesome! But a word of warning: it is very addictive! lol!

Here are the stamp sets I have used to make my card.

BBRoundinCirclesProdPic    AllOccasionSentimentsProdPic

Anyway, here is my card inspired by the picture above.

Now the Background Builder: Round in Circles does not have a solid circle. The trick is to flip the stripped circle stamp and ta da.... you get a solid circle to use:) I stamped the circles in cluster of three leaving the center for the sentiment. The sentiment is from All Occassion Sentiment #1 I love this font. So elegant and beautiful. Here is the closeup of the card.

You can do a lot of variations here. I have done pretty much one layer card. You can emboss some of the circles and stamp the others. You can use gold embossing on the sentiment and stripped circles as shown in the inspirational photo. You can use any colour combination you like. You can even use Thickers Alphas for the sentiment. Hope I have inspired you enough to pick a picture form Pinterest and make a card. If you do make it. Please tag it into Uniko Studio Gallery on Flickr.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey!

Hey there!  Amber here, from Bella Rose Cards.  There is still lots of time left to play in our first ever Uniko Studio Challenge!    I wanted to make another card for the challenge, and decided to use our "Hello" theme along with this cool sketch-
Deconstructed Sketch 110

These colors aren't ones I would normally use, but I'm trying to step out of my comfort zone a bit. =)  I used paper from Echo Park's For the Record 2 collection, along with my Bright Butterflies dies and All Occasion Sentiments #2 stamp set.
If you participate in the Uniko Studio Challenge, you'll have a chance to win a £10 Gift Certificate & Guest Design Team spot on the blog & for the next challenge!
Thanks for looking!

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 1 - Say "Hello"

Hello everyone!

It's Ren-Yi here to introduce you to a NEW monthly feature here at Uniko Studio.

Are you a Uniko Studio fan? Have you been looking for a place to show off your stamping skills using Uniko Studio products? Do you like a challenge? Most of all do you like the chance to win stuff? If you've answered YES to any of those then this is for you!

Bev and the girls here decided it was high time for you lovelies to show off your love for stamping, your love for Uniko Studio and your love for community. So we're putting together a monthly challenge to test out waters. In the off chance that this becomes popular, we can talk about a bi-montly event, but let's take it one step at a time.

Since we're starting off for the first time, we thought we'll get things started with an easy challenge. Create a card, project, or anything crafty to say "Hello"

We would love to get to know our lovely readers, fans, and fellow-crafters, so to kick things off this week, we are doing it blog-hop style! As we hop around, the Design Team will share a little random fact about themselves along with a project to say Hello! Feel free to do the same, we love to get to know you!

Hey! Thanks for the intro Ren-Yi! It's Bev here now & I thought I'd create a card with my usual daily greeting! I am in LOVE with the NEW SU! colour Smokey Slate, the ink hasn't left my desk yet since I got it!! I decided to pair the sentiment up with Natures Treasures I and Flower Power #2, just adding a 'pop' of Raspberry with the solid bloom.

So, a random fact about me that you don't know already.... kinda hard this one and it took me longer to think of this than it did to create my card!

"I'm a TV series junkie... I LOVE series like Dexter, Lost, Prison Break and even Buffy the Vampire Slayer, to name but a few - Haha! I can literally sit and watch episode after episode (when I'm not running the business or designing of course!)"

So that's all from me, it's back over to Ren-Yi to tell you the details about the challenge...

The Challenge Rules:
  • You have until August 14th 09:00 UK time, to link your card up below
  • Winners will be announced by August 17th
  • Please add the Uniko Studio Challenge badge & link back to the challenge
  • If you don't have a blog to link back to the challenge, don't worry. Just use "USC"+<challenge number> as your tag. For example, for our first challenge use "USC1"
  • Showcase any Uniko Studio product: clear stamps, dies, digital pattern paper, digital cut files, or digital stamps. If you haven't purchased any Uniko Studio products, fear not. Plenty of freebies here.
The Prizes!
  • A £10 Gift Certificate to the Winner & Guest Design Team spot on the blog & for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight
We hope this is going to be fun. We sure are excited about this new feature on the blog and hope you will play along and spread the Uniko Studio Love!!

Eau Natural & a WINNER!

Hey!

How did you enjoy yesterday's post from Design Team member Gayatri? I thoroughly enjoyed the change :) and I didn't even peek at the post before it went live!

It's going to be a regular feature here on the blog to have different DT members posting a new project or technique throughout the month. I know they all have their own blogs and there are links to them in the sidebar but it's nice to have variety here on the blog. It also takes a some pressure off me not to have to post myself everyday!

Anyway, I do have a card to share today...

I decided to go Eau Natural with my card using a fairly soft colour palette using a mix of grey and a couple of shades of brown & it seemed perfect to use Natures Treasures I

I used the current Crazy for CAS challenge sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card and decided to do make it a portrait card rather than landscape as I knew I wanted to use the long stem leaves from the set.

I've a few more layers to my card than I usually go for but I still think it's pretty CAS. Keeping the focal image & sentiment simple & colours to a minimum helped achieve this.

So that's all from me today, be sure to stop on by tomorrow for another NEW monthly feature here on the blog from the Design Team & me! It also involves you the Uniko Studio fans & customers and of course there is GOOD incentives involved too!

Talking of prizes I totally forgot to announce the random winner of the July Blog Hop who wins Label Love: Thank you clear stamp set. BIG apologies for my tardiness.

And the winner is....

Amy Tsuruta who is commenter 111 on Stacey's blog...
