Design Team Inspiration - Quick Christmas cards!
Hello Everybody,
Gayatri here today! I have started on my Christmas cards for this year. Today I am sharing a very quick Christmas card which can be easily mass produce or even upscale it if you like.
Here are the cards.
Gayatri here today! I have started on my Christmas cards for this year. Today I am sharing a very quick Christmas card which can be easily mass produce or even upscale it if you like.
Here are the cards.
I have used Pure Florals- Poinsettia to make my cards.
I have inked the Poinsettia with Pale Tomato and Green Hills Hero Arts Shadow Ink and spritz with water using mini mister. Then directly stamped on the card front. Then stamped the sentiment and accented with rhinestones. You can stamp a single flower like the first card or in threes like the second card. This is quick and easy to make and you can whip out a few of them watching television. Here are a few I whipped out.
Hope I have inspired you to start your Christmas cards.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs!

Accent Essentials; Arrows
Good morning! Amber here, from Bella Rose Cards. I'm really loving the arrow trend, so I was super excited to get my hands on the Accent Essentials; Arrows stamp set! I used red, orange, yellow, and black ink to stamp my arrows in a random pattern, and then colored them in with a gray marker. For the sentiment I used stamps from the All Occasion Sentiments #2 set, which I LOVE. I mated this layer with black cardstock and adhered it to a red card base. I finished it off by adding a few coordinating adhesive pearls. Still clean and simple, but a great use of stamps!

Design Team Inspiration - Stamping on Patterned Paper
Hello Uniko Studio Fans!!
Nicki here bringing you some Design Team Inspiration! The theme today is Stamping on Patterned Paper. It's really a simple technique and it can really add some interest to your cards!
Here are the supplies I used for this card....nothing out of the ordinary!
I started off by cutting a piece of patterned paper slightly smaller than the card base (width). Then, using the Wonderful Washi stamp set, I stamped directly onto the paper using two different ink colors, and three washi patterns. A thin strip of black cardstock was placed next to the paper, and both were adhered to the card base.
Not only did I stamp with ink on the patterned paper, but I also heat embossed the polka dot birthday label with glittery embossing powder. It's such a pretty look...see the image below for a close up!
I then mounted the birthday label to a piece of black cardstock, and adhered it to the card (slightly hanging off the edge) using foam tape. That's it! A simple technique can create a very interesting look!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I have inspired you to dig out that patterned paper you've been stashing away, and put it to use! :)

Wonderful Washi Uniko Studio Style!
Hey!
Sorry, for the lack of posting yesterday & the late one today, we've been enjoying a sunny Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK and I've spent some quality time with my Fiancé. However, I've managed to sneak a little time in the studio this evening, whilst the football is on to pack some lovely orders to be mailed tomorrow & also to make this card...
The current challenge over at 'Less is More' HERE is perfect to dust off and ink up Uniko Studio's Wonderful Washi clear stamp set, as the challenge is to use Washi tape. I designed this clear stamp set many moons ago for paper crafters like me who find it difficult to choose a colour and pattern of Washi tape to purchase! With this set you have 5 different patterned & double ended ribbons to choose from and they can be stamped in any colour you like, you can check the stamp set out HERE & HERE.
For my card today I decided to go down the masculine route as it's been a while & I need a few more my stash!
I started out with a little 10 x 10 cm Pure Poppy card base & I stamped the cross/grid Washi ribbon down each side using black ink. I then stamped the grunge circles from Background Builders: Round In Circles in Real Red, Hawaiian Shores & Smokey Shadow. The sentiment is from Time & also the grey stamped dots. A few red & black rhinestones along with a couple SU! Candy dots finished the panel off, which is mounted to the card base using foam adhesive.
A super quick, minimal fuss masculine birthday card, which in my opinion is what the majority of men want!
OK, that's all from me tonight, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then THANKS for stopping by today :)

Hey!
Welcome to another Super FREE Saturday here at Uniko Studio. This month brings you a super trendy digital print out collection featuring funky florals in some yummy Stampin' Up! colours, check it out...
How about a couple of projects using the collection...
For my first card I used one of the journalling cards and stamped a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments #1 and Time. I printed an extra journalling card so I could fussy cut the flower out and adhere it using foam adhesive.
Before I adhered the journalling card to the SU! Strawberry Slush mat layer I stamped same said layer with the small polka dots from Background Builders: Round In Circles using white pigment ink.
For my next card using the freebie I decided to use the current Uniko Studio Challenge sketch seen HERE and below...

I used a 1 3/4" circle punch to cut out the round label from the collection and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Label Love: Birthday before mounting it onto a die cut.
The friend sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #3 and I stamped it before I adhered the white panels to the base card using foam adhesive. I printed & fussy cut a couple of the flowers which appear on the red journalling card to finish the sketch layout.
Why not have a go & use the freebie to create a card & enter it into the Uniko Studio Challenge #2?
A few of the Design Team have created projects using the collection too, links to their blogs are below...

Runway Inspired
Hey!
Happy Friday :) It's good that the weekend is here as I do love spending time with my hunny & I do miss him during the week between 9 and 5. Only 7 days now till we leave for the US and I can safely say that I'm almost set to go and getting rather over excited - Ha!
Anyway, back to todays card...
It's been a while since I joined in with the Runway Inspired Challenge & I often seek inspiration from fashion and interiors when I'm designing. So when I saw the current challenge HERE and seen below, I had to play along and made the card seen above.
I've definitely had a 'thing' for the flower cluster stamp from Flower Power #1 this week! I was draw to the colours and overlapping floral design which helped with the choosing of the stamp and also the white strip down the middle of the dress with the elongated black triangle. Instead of it going straight I decided to put it on an angle on my card for a bit of interest and also to stamp the sentiment.
I masked the star off whilst inking my sentiment and removing the mask prior to stamping as I wanted to replace it with a fussy cut out flower. I used the elongated arrow from Accent Essentials: Arrows to direct the focus to the sentiment and replicate the elongated arrow seen on the dress.
Overall I'm really quite happy with how this card turned out. It has a lot less white space than my usual creations but it's still quite CAS. It's good to step out of the comfy zone now and then, don't you think?
That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share & it is also Super FREE Saturday tomorrow so be sure to stop by to see what little FREEBIE I have in store for you this month! Everyone's Favourite Die!
Hey!
I guess I am a little presumptuous with the title of my blog post today, however they have been the most popular product bought from all of the August release products! Since this product was peeked, introduced and revealed there have been SO many AMAZING projects made using them that I had to join in & highlight one other feature using them, which I've used on todays card...
When I was in the processes of getting these dies manufactured I knew that I wanted the dies to be as functional as possible and work along side the Today, Tomorrow & Always Time clear stamp set. So I made sure that the largest detailed die co-ordinated with the stamp. It really is quite easy to line up the stamp with the die cut which I will show you now.
The stamp and die are not symmetrical. There are a couple of ways to line up your stamp & die cut but if you look closely at the die cut, there is this smaller petal shape that I've pointed to with an arrow...
I then located the same smaller petal shape on the stamp (looking down through my clear block as if to stamp with it).
I then temporarily adhered my die cut to my stamping surface, inked my stamp with versamark, hovered my stamp over the die cut making sure I had it centred and stamped. I then heat embossed the die cut with Cosmic Shimmer EP and used a pair of tweezers to hold my die cut so as not to burn my fingers!
I have to say the first couple of die cuts I stamped didn't come out perfectly centred but as I did a few more I got the hang of it (practice makes perfect so they say!). That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by :)

Feeling Retro
Hey!
Happy Wednesday. I can't believe we're half way through the week already, time is going way too fast & I've still much to organise in the studio before we go away.
Luckily, I have Abbie in the studio today to help me out & you will also be glad to know that even though I will be away for 3 weeks, yep THREE weeks the Uniko Studio shop will still be open & orders will still be mailed out, as Abbie has kindly taken up the job of looking after things whilst I'm away.
Ok, back to todays card...
I decided to go a little retro for this card, firstly by using the current Retro Sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card and also with the colour combo of Kraft, Red & White. Pairing that with the graphic flower from time, I thought it gave off a retro vibe?
What do you think? It was another of those cards that came together just how I had envisioned it in my mind. I saw the sketch, knew the supplies I wanted to use & set about creating!
I started out with a Kraft mat layer trimmed to size & piece of red CS trimmed to size to die cut my large graphic flower slightly off at the lower right as seen in the sketch. I then temporarily adhered my red die cut piece to the kraft layer so that I could stamp & emboss the graphic flower in the right position.
I then stamped the sentiment also from Time, wrapped some bakers twine round the layer and adhered it to my card base using foam adhesive. Before I adhered the red die cut piece to the card I used a white gel pen to add some faux stitching & also adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. A red button added the final detailing to the flower.
That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by today :)

The Perfect Sketch!
Hey!
Happy Monday :)
So the other night I made a total of 5 cards and was super impressed with myself! You saw the first card HERE which was for the Uniko Studio Challenge #2, I'd LOVE for you to join in BTW!
Today, you get to see cards 2 - 4, yep a little trio of Christmas cards, I think this is a first for me to make a Christmas cards this early! It was all down to the perfect sketch, the current CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch to be exact seen HERE and below...
As soon as I saw it, the Uniko Studio Label Love series jumped to mind and this little trio of cards were created...
I seem to be seeing a few Christmas themed cards around blog land and so that was the reasoning behind making a Christmas trio. I started out with Label Love: Christmas for this first card seen above and kept things super CAS & adding LOTS of Prisma Glitter (think this might have to be replenished before the BIG Christmas card stash is created!)
Following on for the next card I decided to use a Label Love: Thank you label with a Christmas sentiment inside...
I kept the colour scheme the same, as well as the overall layout using the sketch as my guide.
For the last card I wandered from the sketch to create a gift look with my ribbons and used a label from Label Love: Birthday with another different Christmas sentiment. I love mixing & matching these sets, SO many possibilities :)
Again, I kept the colour theme the same, added more Prisma Glitter and a little rhinestone. I'm really pleased with my first little trio of Christmas cards for 2013!
Apologies for the 'off' photos, we got a new camera the other day and I am still learning & getting to grips with it & the white balance, hopefully it won't take me too long to figure it out!
That's all I have to share for today, I'll be back again tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by :)
