I know I'm a day late in wishing you all a Happy New Year and it's not because I was hungover yesterday! I didn't touch a drop of alcohol & spent a very relaxed and chilled out night in front of the TV New Years Eve and yesterday I spent the day cleaning the house and cooking a dinner. I enjoy New Year as a time to reflect on the year that has passed, good memories and achievements but it is also a time to look to the future and plan new things. I haven't set any 'official' resolutions as I never seem to achieve what I say I will, but I have some goals to work towards this year both personal & here at Uniko Studio.
Anyhow, I made a little card for you all to wish you a Happy New Year...
I used a couple of challenges for this card, mainly to kick start my creative mojo and to get back into the swing of things and basically have some FUN! I started off with the current CAS(E) this Sketch! seen HERE and below and combined it with the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below.
A trend that I am loving and seeing more & more is hand written type. Now, my handwriting is not as FABulous as I'd like it to be and one thing I am going to try and perfect this year. Not having a 'New Year' stamp in my collection & instead of messing about trying to get card through the printer and positioned right I hand wrote the 'New Year' on my card but cheated slightly to get it to look nicer!
I simply chose a font and type size and printed off my sentiment. I then used some carbon paper & traced the sentiment positioned exactly where I wanted it. Then used a black fine liner to go over the tracing. The HAPPY sentiment is stamped & embossed in gold along with the row of small stars and the trio of silver sparkly stars are left overs from my Designer Dies Snowflake Christmas cards!
2013 was a FABulous year here at Uniko Studio, which is due to all you lovely paper crafting friends around the world that visit the blog, support & purchase Uniko Studio products and I truly value & appreciate each and everyone of you. Here's to another FABulous year & hoping 2014 brings everything you want it to.
That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration & until then, THANK YOU for stopping by :)
