Hello everyone! We have our guest designer Christine from Popppaea Cards with us today to share with us her project:
Hi everyone! I am honoured and slightly terrified to have been asked to write a guest post for Uniko as the winner of their last challenge. I have only recently started to take part in challenges and have been absolutely overwhelmed by how supportive my fellow crafters are, with so many lovely people taking the time to comment on all the blogs out there, offering praise and encouragement.
The latest challenge for Uniko is themed Easter with a gorgeous spring colour pallet. For my card I have once again pulled out my favourite Uniko stamp set - Pure Florals: Gerbera. I love how versatile this stamp set is as you have the outline as well as the solid stamp which you can use together or separately to create so many different effects and styles.
I went clean and simple, using the outline stamp of the flower and the smaller leaf. I have used Spectrum Noir pens to shade and have hand drawn the border to frame the image. The sentiment is from the same stamp set.
If you haven’t entered a Uniko challenge before I thoroughly recommend it. Uniko has some really unique designs and if you don’t own a stamp set yet, you can still take part using the free downloads available at the shop site. The challenge itself is there to inspire you to create and to try something different - I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
One final thing - thank you to everyone at Uniko for giving me this opportunity to guest design, it has been a great experience,
Christine x
Christine, what a gorgeous card! I love that gerbera stamp and you have really brought it to life! Love the border frame too - great finishing touch. Congrats for winning the last challenge and thanks for your inspiration on this one :)
ReplyDeleteChristine, your card is ever so lovely, and you most certainly have nothing to be nervous about as a GD! You've showcased your Uniko products in a delightful, stylish, elegant fashion! The gerbera, nestled in your hand-drawn frame, is stunning! Thank you for the inspiration!

Well done on your win Christine and what a superb inspirational card. That gerbera set is on my wish list and you've made it so realistic I could almost lift the flower off the page. X
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your GD spot, Christine ... this is simply lovely! Actually, all your beautiful gerbera cards have that certain je ne sais quoi ... this certainly has! Great design, fabulous colouring and depth, and such glorious white space ... gorgeous! I'm longing for this set to come back into stock! Anita :)
