Best Wishes

Hey!

Where on earth did that weekend go?! It flew by here and as much as I was determined to enter into the studio and make cards my plans were halted by the fact our house became DIY Central! My role was supervisor/assistant and making sure the house didn't get flooded!

By the time we had finished for the evening I was too tired to venture into the studio and ended up in bed before 9:30 both nights, hence no cards to share and no posts here on the blog. On the up side, the jobs are being ticked off and we might just have them all done before the 'lil beans arrive :)

Finally I am back this evening, my mojo a little lost, but I managed to create this card to share with you all...

I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout, again seen HERE and below for my card. This time I used a couple of colours from the current Uniko Studio Challenge seen HERE and below.

There is still plenty of time to join in on the Uniko Studio Challenge, I'd LOVE you to join in :) There is a £10 Gift Certificate prize for the winner too!

That's all from me today & I WILL be back tomorrow with more to share & hopefully a bit more mojo will have returned! Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

YAY for Friday!

Hey & Happy Friday!

How on earth did we get to Friday?! Two days without blogging & creating a card, I'm in withdrawal! It's been one CrAzY busy but exciting week here at the Brown house. With my last post I mentioned the new windows and French doors & a trip to the hospital for another scan.

Well, the windows and doors have been fitted and look FAB without any hiccups, just A LOT of dust!  I left for my scan on the morning & left via my MIL house as she comes with me to keep me company. I got there and needed the loo so turned the car off and went inside. Came back out and the car decided it wouldn't start - great! Luckily MIL has a car so off we went to the hospital.

The beans were playing silly billies and laying awkwardly which made life hard for the sonographer to determine which was which and get all her measurements. From that one had put on weight but not as much as the other, so I am back again next week just to make sure all is OK. Hopefully they'll be good so they can get a better look at things.

We came back after the appointment and my FIL looked at the car and it wasn't going anywhere, the starter motor has gone, luckily hubby had been out at the weekend to test drive cars and had decided on one and bought it & my FIL was picking it up yesterday, so I've only been without a car for a day.

As you can imagine yesterday was full of excitement as the new car AKA 'beanmobile' arrived! Off I went to run a few errands that had accumulated in one day and test the new beauty out and I am very impressed with hubby's choice...

One of my errands was to pick up a box of inky goodness that had been waiting at the parcel depot. I treated myself to the whole WPlus9 Dye Ink Collection and I've had a little play this morning in-between orders to create this super CAS card...

I've used 3 of the 15 colours, Ocean Drive, Sweet Gelato & Wild Mango. I also used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! HERE and seen below for the layout of my card.

I did add a little glitter to jazz it up a bit...

That's all from me today, I've a few more orders to pack :) It's 50% Friday here at Uniko Studio which means you only have to spend £25 to get FREE Worldwide Shipping! It's only valid for today.

I'm determined to be back tomorrow with another card, so until then, thank you for stopping by today & sorry for the longwinded talk!

Geometric Generation

Hey!

It's all a bit CrAzY here at the Brown household this week! It's all go to get jobs done around the house before the 'lil beans arrive. Today and yesterday we have trades men in who are fitting new windows and French doors. So along with it being noisy it is dusty and the house is upside-down! It'll all be done by the end of today and then I have a mammoth cleaning job ahead of me the rest of the week.

Luckily (I might rephrase that later!) this morning I am back at the hospital for another scan, so I am away from the chaos for 3 hours at least!

Yesterday evening after a little tidy up in the kitchen & while hubby was out playing football I decided to relax in the studio for an hour and made this card...

It didn't take the whole hour up, so I spent some time organising and part prepping hubby's cousins Wedding Invitation production line! His cousin gets married in September and I am on a tight schedule to get them completed in case the 'lil beans arrive sooner than expected.

Anyway, I was inspired by this weeks A Cure For The Monday Blues HERE on Taheerah's blog and the inspiration pic seen below. I was also partly inspired by this weeks Guest Designer for the challenge Leigh Penner's card created for the challenge.

It was nice to dust off a couple of older sets that haven't seen much ink for a while too, Background Builders: Round In Circles & Wonderful Washi. I'm really quite pleased with how it turned out :)

I had better get moving and go pick up my MIL who kindly comes along to the hospital with me for company :) We've some knitting to do today whilst we wait, I will share a fe things I've made over the next week or so.

I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Muse Guest Designer

Hey & Happy Monday!

I'm super happy to kick off this week with the honour of being the muse over at Muse. I was beyond thrilled when Ardyth emailed me a while back to see if I would Guest Design and how could I refuse such an honour and opportunity?!

This is the card I came up with...

The idea of the challenge is as follows:

* Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to the Muse challenge.
* Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member's submissions
* Vote for 3 of your fellow member's submissions that you find inspiring.

I used the white wash watercolour technique that I used on THESE cards. I love this technique, though it can be time consuming, but overall relaxing too.

I hope I've inspired you to create and I hope that you'll join in on the challenge over at Muse :)

As this card incorporates a watercolour technique I thought I would enter it into the current "Less is More" challenge HERE, which is all about watercolours this week.

That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Gold Butterflies

Hey & Happy Friday!

Yay for the weekend :) It's been a long week here at Uniko Studio HQ, but I am happy with what I've achieved this week. I hope you've all had a good week too. I'm looking forward to an afternoon of crafting tomorrow as the hubby goes looking at new cars & test driving them with his dad.

Anyway, I'm here today with some gold butterflies...

This week CAS(E) this Sketch! are joining forces with Fusion Card Challenge and when I saw the combo HERE,  HERE and below I instantly had an idea and had to interpret the sketch quite literally!

Of course I had to use the NEW English Country Garden - Butterflies stamp set and my fresh Encore Gold ink pad :)

I'm out of the studio today getting some much needed fresh air and exercise! I do monthly health walks with my MIL run by a voluntary group and we visit a village or town within the North East, do a 2-3 mile walk and then enjoy a nice lunch and a spot of shopping in the place we've walked to. I started these walks not only for the exercise but also to visit towns and villages I might not necessarily visit in my own time.

Anyway, enough chatter for today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by :)

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE with your own twist

Hey!

I'm back today with the 8th TIME OUT Challenge and this time it's a CASE challenge. The aim of this challenge is to use the designer inspiration card & CASE it adding your own twist.

This month we have a super duper talented paper crafting expert for you to CASE... Donna from Three Umbrellas and this is the inspiration card...

And this is my take on the inspiration...

I was inspired firstly by the gradient of colours Donna has used and replicated the colours stamping the lattice design across a panel of white CS. The lattice was also the closest match I have to anything hexagonal!

As you can see in this close up photo I was also inspired by the gold embossing, butterfly & hearts and replicated this too :)

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Marzena, be sure to stop by Marzena's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 11 - Birthday

Hello Uniko Fans - we are back with a new color and theme challenge.

We ALL loved seeing the bumper of entries with our last challenge and we hope you can take a few elements and get your crafting mojo flowing with this new challenge & we look forward to seeing your entries :)

This months colour inspiration has some lovely bold and regal tones. So hopefully there is something in this color palette that will get your crafting mojo going. Feel free to use any or all elements...

And complimenting the colors, the theme this month is an easy one "Birthday". These types of cards are always in need throughout the year.

Bev here, I selected just 2 of the colours from the palette to create my card...

I decided to dust off A Gift For You (now back in stock) and give it some inky love. I'm not usually a purple kind of person, but the two tones in the pallet really stood out to me. I added a good dose of Hero Arts Prisma Glitter to the bow which is fussy cut and adhered to the gift using foam adhesive. I also used the trio of dots from Today, Tomorrow & Always Time stamped in Frost VersaMark to add interest to the card base.

I was on a creative roll & decided to make another card...

Again I went for the purple tones, but this time instead of using white I used PTI Soft Stone which to me was a close match for the middle colour on the inspiration photo. I went super feminine and reached for Beautiful Blooms I. This time I stamped & embossed the flowers in the light purple with Crystal embossing powder.

This time I added a 'celebrate' sentiment from Flower Power #2, which is perfect for the new 100th Challenge over at CASology HERE.

Let's see how the Design Team faired with this challenge...

* First post of the day, pop by at 9:30 for the Winner & Honourable Mentions for Uniko Studio Challenge #10 *

Hey!

Today I am feeling thankful and without you guys visiting my little space of blogland, supporting and your patronage over at the store it wouldn't mean as much as it does. So in return how about a little giveaway?

The first 3 people to leave me a comment on the blog can send me an email to beverley@unikostudio.com with your mailing address and I will get a little stamp prize on it's way to you!

How about a card, this one's for all you lovely readers & fans of Uniko Studio...

My 'go to' flower seems to be Flower Power #5 at the moment as it matches one of the flowers from Background Builders: Vines.

I like tags, but they are not my 'go to' for project making, but as you may or may not know there is a new challenge blog coming called Tag You're It Challenge! It's a clean and simple (CAS) challenge blog and the focus is tags, may they be on their own or featured on a CAS card. So, anyway, I decided to create a matching tag to go with the card...

That's not all for today, be sure to pop back shortly for the Winner & Honourable Mentions for Uniko Studio Challenge #10. Until then, thank you for stopping by :)

A Cure For The Monday Blues

Hey!

If you missed my first post HERE today, check it out as I announced the WINNER of the entire June Release. I said I would be back and here I am! I've been MIA for a few days due to being knocked down by a horrible cold going round. Doesn't sound much but colds seem to hit you hard when you're pregnant - or they have me!

Anyway, this morning I've been catching up on some dreaded office work - accounts! I always seem to put it off, but it's a job I have scheduled in once a month now and I am happy that I am all up to date - YAY!

So to cure my Monday Blues I decided to have a little inky session and play along with a couple of challenges :) First up is Taheerah's A Cure For the Monday Blues challenge HERE and seen below.

And this is what I came up with...

I also decided to use the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below. From the inspiration photo I was mainly inspired by the polka dots on the napkin and the 3 coloured flowers. Not a colour combination I would normally put together, but I'm fairly pleased with how it's turned out.

I broke out the Hero Arts prism glitter this afternoon as it's been a while since it saw daylight! I added some to the centre of the flowers...

That's all I have for today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)
