TIME OUT Challenges #19 Embossing & Optional Twist Sparkle

Here is my take on the theme...

How about some sparkly snowflake decorations?! For this card I use a trio of snowflakes from Stunning Snowflakes, the bows are from Label Love: Birthday and the sentiment from Pure Florals: Poinsettia.

I heat embossed the snowflakes with stardust embossing powder and added rhinestones to add the sparkle.

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 16 - Christmas & a Welcome!

Before I introduce you to the  new challenge & the last for 2014, I'd like to introduce you to the newest Uniko Studio Design Team Member.... Sandie from London Days. Please give Sandie a warm welcome by stopping by her blog HERE :)

Here at Uniko Studio both the DT and I have welcomed Sandie with open arms as she has willingly taken on the task of organising the Uniko Studio Challenges for 2015, which will be all revised and all the more FUN! 

Anyway, though the entries were few, we ALL loved seeing your entries we had for our last challenge & we look forward to seeing your entries for this one :)

To help get your mojo flowing & increase the number of entries I have changed the rules slightly.

Basically you can use ANY PRODUCT you have in your stash that fits the theme and you DON'T have to use at least one Uniko Product on your project entry. However, those who do use a Uniko product on their project entry you will qualify for a random selected winner prize. This gives those who don't own any of our products the chance to win some & join the Uniko Studio community :)

As I wasn't finding much time to go into the studio to create, my husband kindly cleared the decks in the small box room in the house and I now have my basic supplies in order to create and do 'work' ;) So, fingers crossed you will be seeing a bit more of me around these parts!

My first task this weekend was to create a card for this months challenge & this is what I came up with...

I decided I needed a little help to get my creativity flowing an I used the sketch as a basis for the layout of my card, but I changed the placement of the sentiment as I didn't want it to compromise the sparkly snowflake die cut! 

I also used the current Crazy for CAS inspiration photo colours seen HERE and below as I couldn't decide on a colour scheme. I do love a non-traditional Christmas card :)

2014 Christmas Release Sneak Peeks

Hey!

Today I am here to share some Sneak Peeks of the upcoming 2014 Christmas Release :) 

As you all know my time for blogging and creating is limited these days due to the not so little beans, they are growing fast!! So with that in mind the schedule of this release is a little different and is really simple, basically today I am sharing 4 sneak peeks of all the products being released, then I will be back again next Thursday the 20th November with the FULL Reveal of the products which will be available for PRE-ORDER prior to their official release on the website on the 25th November. Then the Design Team & I will be back on December 11th for a Countdown to Christmas blog hop, more details about this nearer the time! 

The reason for me creating the pre-order option is to help me process orders efficiently and be more organised prior to the official release day, I'll be adding a little incentive to pre-order too making things a little sweeter for all my loyal and much appreciated customers :) Without you all supporting me and buying from my little company it wouldn't be possible to do a job that I love :)

Anyway, how about those Sneak Peeks I've mentioned...

It wouldn't be a Christmas release without some Christmas sentiments! This first little peek is of another mini series of stamp sets coming your way.

This next mini set has a lovely modern rustic feel to it featuring a fabulous focal point tree, trimmings and a couple of sentiments, it packs quite a punch for a mini set!

The BIG & BOLD set recently released was a hit so this release sees the next in the series. No guessing to the theme of the set here & if you know me you know I LOVE snowflakes, so it was a must! 

With the popularity of Background Builders: Vines this last mini stamp set will provide even more possibilities to the set, featuring Autumnal and Winter themed stamps.

So, that's all the Sneak Peeks for this Christmas Release, they all might be mini sets but they all pack a punch and have endless possibilities & some of them you will find yourself using throughout the year!

TIME OUT Challenges - Home Sweet Home

I'm here this morning with another TIME OUT Challenges card. This fortnight is Home Sweet Home with a interiors photo to spark your inspiration...

This is how I was inspired by the photo...

I was mainly inspired by the rustic feel of the photo, but also the pillow on the sofa & sentiment on the shelf. I decided to ink up Background Builders: Vines and gave it a Christmassy feel with the colours and added a few stamped berries from Label Love: Christmas. The sentiment is from Peace On Earth, below is a close up of the detail...

[Uniko Studio Challenge] #15 Revisited - Guest Designer

Today we have our winner of Challenge #13 and Guest Designer Melissa from Oh, Smudge! with us to share a reminder project for Challenge #14. Now, you will want to keep reading as Jane has wonderful piece inspiration for you.

Hi everyone!  It's Melissa here and I have to say I was truly thrilled to find out I'd won the last challenge!  What an honour!

This challenge leaves so many options open for design!  I went with an embossing folder to create texture as I really like woodgrain backgrounds and this was an easy way to create one.  I used the Pure Florals: Gerbera set for the main image and the sentiment is from the All Occasions Sentiments #1, a favorite of mine.  I love the soft colors of this challenge and used them all, some subtly and others as the main focus.  I hope you'll join us!

For the Challenge this month we are back to a 'theme' and colour pallet:

'Texture'

Plus

The theme of 'Texture' maybe a daunting theme to you like it was me, but there are lots of ways to add texture to your creations. For example it could be embossing, be it with an embossing folder or heat embossing, or you might be into the current trend of embossing paste with a stencil. It could be that you add texture to your card in a 'faux' way by using a texture stamp or using designer paper that has a texture to it. The possibilities are endless!

Some 'ME" time!

Hey!

How are you all? Can you believe that we are in November already, how did that happen?! The days here are simply flying by, the beans certainly like to keep me busy that's for sure!! 

Yesterday morning Daddy took them to the park in the pram to watch the local non-league football, which gave Mummy some 'ME' time that I decided to use NOT doing housework for once! Instead I popped into the studio and created this card...

It is one that I had started a few days ago and finally got round to finishing. It just so happens that it also fits perfectly into the current challenge over at 'Less is More' HERE, which this week is a colour challenge using non-traditional Christmas colours.

For my card I used one of my favourite non-traditional colour schemes, aqua, white & silver along with a non-Christmas stamp set - Decorative Doilies The Hands Of Time. The sentiment is from Stunning Snowflakes and I also added a Snowflake die cut.
