CAS Colours & Sketches #181

Hey!

It's a new month over at CAS Colours & Sketches with LOTS of fun challenges in store. As it is the summer months we are taking it in turns to be a hostess for the week. This week our hostess is the lovely Caro.

Caro has come up with this lovely colour combo HERE and seen below for you to try...

I found this colour combination quite hard at first, so I headed over to Pinterest and my Cards I Love board to help spark some creativity. I was inspired by THIS card by Dawn the owner and designer of WPlus9

Dawn is awesomely talented and inspiring so I CASEd Dawn's card using Uniko clear stamps (listed in the supplies at the bottom of the post) and just used the Elegant Eggplant and substituted the Cucumber Crush to the closest match I had.

This is how my card turned out...

I started by stamping the sentiment on my die cut panel and then used the stamping off technique to get the two shades of purple for the flowers, just using the one ink pad. Such a great technique for multi step stamps and also if your supplies are limited.

I alternated between stamping flowers and leaves to fill the panel and then went back in with a tiny trio of dots to fill spaces. After adhering all the pieces onto a Soft Suede card base I went in and added some Wink Of Stella to the flowers.

I hope I have inspired you to give these colours a go and join in on the challenge this week. Be sure to stop on over HERE and check out what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT have done using the colours and I hope to see you in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by today.

  1. This card is amazing! Love the overall pattern, but still CAS style - and to have the panel on the right with the scallops on the left, unexpected and perfect. Love the little dots scattered throughout. Pinning this for future inspiration!

  3. Great idea to just use the two colours for the stamping - very beautiful and crisp - and the third colour for the card base. Looks wonderful!

  8. Bev, this is such a pretty card! I really like how you've used the card base to create a simple border on the right, and I love the scalloped edge of the focal panel. Fabulous!

  9. This is such a beautifully CAS card. I love that die, it really is fun. And your use of the colours is great. Sorry to be so late commenting, a last minute business trip left me a little behind. Liz x
