Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Seeing Stars and More

Good morning, Julie here with a little inspiration featuring the  Background Builders Seeing Stars and Seeing Stars stencil and a few sentiments from Reach for the Stars, You Are Yes You, Everyday Family Sentiments and Floral Vines.

I was inspired by the new challenge over at Cardz4Guyz where the theme is Stars and or Stripes. I know many of you find masculine cards difficult so I thought I would share a few ideas that would work equally as well for a female recipient.

As my Grandson loves a rainbow, I thought I would use that as a starting point too to create a couple of examples. My first idea uses just three Distress Inks and the stencil to create a background for the sentiment, you could also use star stamps from Background Builders Seeing Stars .

Using Mustard Seed, Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry, I inked through the stencil onto an A6 panel of white card, moving it around so that all the white space was covered. The card was roughly divided into 3 sections and where the colours overlapped, it created 3 more colours! Initially I kept the inking light but as I moved the stencil around the panel, I added stronger colours, but kept the edges subtle and ensuring only 2 colours overlapped to prevent a muddy look. Once happy with the coverage, I turned to the sentiment.

On a panel of white card, I stamped the STAR from Reach for the Stars in black, and then fussy cut it out, leaving a white border. On some black card from the scrap box, I stamped the sentiments and then cut them into strips. The STAR was added with foam pads and the strips were glued flat. A few sequins or gems would certainly make it more feminine but as I was making a masculine card, I left them off.

This second card is simpler to create, this time I added a light inking of the 3 Distress Inks and then added the stars with a heavier hand and the same three inks, filling in extra stars where required.

The sentiment is as before but the Happy Birthday replaced with a simple Dad. This time I trimmed the panel down to leave a slight border when added to an A6 base card. I've a feeling this one will be used by my Grandson to give his Dad on Father's Day. If you think it's a tad bright then why not change to a plainer colour scheme such as shades of blue and green just like this card!

This time I used the Seeing Stars Background Builder stamps and kept the whole card one layer. Although the main stars are from the BB Seeing Stars, some smaller ones came from some Uniko Christmas sets. After the stars were stamped in a range of DIs, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers, I stamped the sentiment from Reach for the Stars in black and added some white dots of white puffy paint.

That's all from me for today, hope I've given you a little bit of inspiration for those difficult masculine makes.

Happy crafting.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Dies, Stencils & Stamps

 Bonjour !

It's Izzy here with two inspiration cards that I'm combining with the current challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More where it's all about Stencils and/or Dies.

As I used Uniko products to make my DT cards, I wanted to give even more love to my Uniko dies, Stencils and Stamps.

For my first inspiration, I went with a shaker card. I get inspired by the Dream Factory challenge where it's about Stardust movie.

I started with the background blending purple and dark blue distress inks to make the sky. Then I used the star galaxy wave from the Reach for the Stars set that I stamped and heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.

Then I used the Seeing Stars stencil and with a white pencil, I drew the stars onto the background. And to give more shine, I speckled with a brush a mix of water and Perfect Pearls. Then I stamped and white heat embossed the second part of the sentiment that comes from the BIG & BOLD Wish clear stamp & die bundle.

I die cut (x3) a frame in white card stock and I glued an acetate sheet on the back to make the shaker card window. I put some tiny stars sequins on the background then I glued the window on top. In a white glittery paper, I die cut the Wish word from the BIG & BOLD Wish clear stamp & die bundle and  I glued it on the window.

To finish my card, I stamped with purple ink two stars from the Background Builders: Seeing Stars set. I  heat embossed them with clear glitter embossing powder, then I filled the blank with a gold gel pen before adhering them on the card.

With the end of year being in a bit more than two month away, I made my second card with one of my favourite stencil from Uniko : In the Forest.

On a watercolour card stock, I played with some Brusho powders. On top I stamped the swirling snowflake wave and the sentiment from the Snowflake Serenade set. Once everything was dry, I used the stencil In the Forest with Versamark ink and I white heat embossed the trees.

To finish my card, I flat adhered this panel on a double white card. In a white glitter paper I die cut the Sparkling Snowflake and I glued it on the card.

Now here is a sneak peek of the card I made for the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge, still using Uniko dies, stencil and stamps...

I hope that my cards inspired you to go and play with your Uniko products and to come and play along at Addicted to Stamps and More.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day !

Mixed Media Monday - Guest Brand Ambassador Sally Holmes

Happy Monday & Shiny New Week!

Today I am back with another Mixed Media Monday and I am delighted to have our guest Sally Holmes joining us again. If you missed Sally's first projects, be sure to hop on over HERE.

Sally

Hello Everyone, today I have a couple of mixed media projects to share with you using Uniko's Background Builders: Seeing Stars and Reach For the Stars clear stamp sets and Stencil Wonky Stripes.

Journal page

For the background I used distress oxide sprays in Wild Honey, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet. I used the same colours in oxide inks for stencilling down each edge of the page. I used the same inks and some Versafine Clair Twilight ink to stamp the stars and borders. I stamped the words and three more stars onto snippets of black card and embossed with fine detail white embossing powder and gold embossing powder. I stuck these on with matte medium. Finally, I splattered a small amount of water and a little of each spray across the whole page.

Card

For the background I sprayed a piece of mixed media paper (180gsm) with Distress oxide sprays in Peacock Feathers and Brushed corduroy. When this was dry, I stamped the star strings in Versafine Clair Acorn.

I mixed about a teaspoonful of Pretty Gets Gritty Clear Get Crackled gel with a few shakes of Mars Pretty Gets Gritty explosion powder. I applied it with a palette knife through the stencil and left it to dry.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment into the space and the star onto a scrap of card sprayed with the oxide sprays. I used Versamark ink and copper embossing powder. Finally, I added a few extra stars in the Acorn ink and cut out and stuck on the star with some 3d glue.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today? I look forward to sharing more with you later this month.

Sally

Star Struck!

I am so inspired to have a go at a journal page, it is something I've never done myself. Such beautiful colours and placements of images & stencils. So many new ways to use Uniko products.

I hope you have enjoyed todays feature and a big THANK YOU to Sally for inspiring us all.

Brand Ambassador - Reach for the Stars

Hello,

Carol here, warmly welcoming you to my Brand Ambassador post where I'm sharing two cards to showcase Reach for the Stars. The combination of images and sentiments in this set span a variety of occasions - birthdays, encouragement, friendship - when used on their own. Pair them with other sets and watch the possibilities multiply!

Using the same palette for both cards, I've created one as a shaker (made ever so easy using 'star pouches'), filled with a Studio Katia blend of sequins,

and one to express gratitude.  Here, the swirl of stars was stamped several times, then cut using star shapes in my collection and popped up for dimension (a 'must' when I make cards). A sprinkling of one of the smaller stamps added a bit of background.

Hope my cards brought you a smile and some inspiration!

CAS Colours & Sketches #242 - Sketch

Hey!

It's time for this weeks challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month Fiona is our hostess and this week Fiona has a fun sketch HERE to inspire your creativity...

Here is what I came up with...

When I design Uniko clear stamps, I always 'try' to think about how they will work with other previously released Uniko clear stamps to maximise their potential.

When I designed the recently released Reach For The Stars set I had Sweet Baby set in mind to pair it with and todays sketch gave me the inspiration and opportunity to do this :)

I was also inspired by the current challenge over at The Card Concept seen HERE and below, which was to use pastel shades.

I also drew inspiration from the pattern on the cushion and incorporated the use of Background Builders: Triangulate on my card too.

That's all from me today using the sketch, but if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used it.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Introducing... Reach For The Stars

YAY!

I'm SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the September product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks at the 5 clear stamp sets being released and NOW it is time for the Design Team and I to introduce them to you.

Today myself and my AWESOME Design Team are introducing a STELLAR clear stamp set, Reach For The Stars. This clear stamp set is bang on trend and has so many fun possibilities.

Here is a little look at how it can be used...

I don't know about you, but I am LOVING the night sky and galaxy backgrounds that are everywhere to be seen around the paper crafting community. I just had to join in and this set is a perfect match to use with them!

I used a mix of Tim Holtz Distress inks and VersaFine Onyx Black ink (I've not a distress one yet), along with my Clarity Stencil Brushes to create an ink blended background. I then stamped embossed the 'stars' sentiment and trio of stars in Encore Silver ink and Stardust EP. Once it was dry I then 'splattered' some Gansai Starry Watercolour over the top.

That's all from me here, but be sure to hop along all the Design Team blogs and leave a comment along the way, as you never know you might just win a random prize! I know for sure that you won't be disappointed the Design Team have created a bountiful wealth of inspiration :)
