Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Rustic Christmas

Hello friends, today I am up with 2 lookalike projects using the Rustic Christmas stamp set  from Uniko.

I have used the DI tumbled glass to stamp the snowflakes from the BIG & BOLD Snow stamp set
I stamped the tree using the DI pine needles. I have used the same ink to dab on the base card to create an edge. I added a few die cuts from my stash to put together the snow scene, the sentiment is from Peace on Earth stamp set.

Both these cards were made in bulk for an acquaintance of mine, and are winging to the US with her for her family and friends for Christmas.

I hope you like the inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Design Team Inspiration - Water Colours

Hello, it's Deborah here with you this morning, in another of our Design Team Inspiration series. I decided to have a play with my Brusho water colour crystals and try out different techniques with them. This is not a new technique as Sarah used them recently, but it's fun, so I thought it was worth another look. Here's a look at the final set of six cards:

I used water colour card for all the snowflake panels. I wiped over all the pieces of card with an anti static buddy.

I wanted to repeatedly stamp the same snowflakes on several water colour panels, so I used my MISIT, so easy! I heat embossed the snowflakes with white powder and then came the fun part. I sprinkled small amounts of Brusho crystals on the card and spritzed on some water.

The top row shows how the crystals react to one spray and then a couple more sprays of water. The bottom row shows how the green crystals actually contain so many other colours.

I used a couple of different methods to activate the crystals. On some of the card I simply spritzed water and allowed the crystals to activate. As you can see from the image above on the right hand side, you end up with patches of dark colour and swirling patterns. The two images on the left were created by wetting the card, adding crystals and using a broad brush to blend the colours. After the panels were dry I ran a wet paint brush across the top and allowed the paint to run down and create drip patterns.

To make the set I created two cards using the full panels, adding some detail to the sides with dies and stamped the bold sentiments at the bottom. For the next two cards I die cut shapes, stamped some more snowflakes on the cards and added greetings on the die cut panels. I finished off the set with some square cards, die cut panels and added the greetings to the card. As yet, I've not done the insides. I was inspired to create the snowflake cards by this week's challenge at Jingle Belles. Here's a close up of the corners of four of the cards:

Do drop back again soon. Hugs

CAS Colours & Sketches #202

Hey & Happy December!

WhooHoo, the countdown to Christmas has begun! Thanks to my bestie Kerry, we have started a new tradition, like many households with kiddies... Elf on the Shelf! I'm not sure if the beans will enjoy it as much as me ;) but this is Buddy the elf waiting to greet the beans after breakfast. Buddy is sat on the TV stand, as I usually let them watch Peppa Pig so I can eat my breakfast in peace - LOL!

Talking of peace, lets get to todays card! This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches we are looking back at all the challenges of 2016, choosing one and making it FESTIVE. THIS week we would like you to look at the 2016 Colour Challenge Archive and choose a colour combo and use it to make a festive card.

I decided upon Challenge #196 from October...

You can check HERE to see how I used them last time, this is what I came up with this time...

With the recent Uniko Release all the stamps are still currently on my desk, so I reached for Rustic Wreath and paired it with a Stampin' Up! die cut sentiment, which is heat embossed with Copper EP. As are the pine cones and then I finished the sentiment off with a partial sentiment from Pure Florals: Poinsettia

For the layout of my card I used the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. Such a fun and versatile sketch and one that worked perfectly for using Rustic Wreath ;)

Ok, that's all from me for now, I hope I have inspired you to give these colours a go and join in on the challenge this week. Be sure to stop on over HERE and check out what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT have done using the colours and I hope to see you in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by today.

CAS Colours & Sketches #191

Hey!

This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches our hostess is Karen. Karen has come up with some fabulous challenges for us, including this weeks lovely colour combo HERE and seen below for you to try...

What a lovely colour combo, don't you think? It had me stumped for a while, but then an idea struck and I went with it. With a restock of lots of clear stamp sets today HERE in the Uniko store, including Peace On Earth that I have used on my card. I decided to make a Christmas card...

I thought the Delightful Dijon resembles a lovely old gold colour and one which I have the SU! card stock for, so decided to use that as my base. I then die cut a white panel stamped the sentiment and olive branch from the set in a close of a match green as I have to Cucumber Crush. Wrapped some Bermuda Bay bakers twine round the panel before adhering to the card base using foam adhesive.

The dove is stamped in Bermuda Bay, fussy cut out and embellished with glitter for a little Christmas sparkle!

As my chosen stamp, one of the doves from Peace On Earth is traditionally white and the majority of my card is white on white I embossed the dove in silver & stardust embossing powder and added lots of glitter :)

September Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

* This is my second post of the day, click HERE for my TIME OUT Challenge Card *

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is the September 2014 Design Team Blog Hop.  As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on!

Here at Uniko Studio I currently only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month. The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko Studio HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing etc, etc. so releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well, just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off the previously released Peace On Earth clear stamp set which was released HERE.

Here are a couple of old FAVES using the set....

How about a new card using this set...

There are a couple of things that I really love about this set. Firstly I love the 'traditional modern' Christmas feel it has and secondly I love being able to add glitter to the dove to make it sparkle!

Above you can see the sparkle on the dove :) I kept the colour scheme neutral letting the sentiment and image take the focus. The snowflake background is from Background Builders: Christmas.

To inspire you more there is a whole bunch of cards HERE on the Uniko Studio Peace On Earth Pinterest board.

And how about some inspiration from the FABulous Design Team:

How about a GIVEAWAY...?

Simply comment along the hop for the chance to win the featured set or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own them. You have until Midnight Thursday 25th September to comment and I will announce the winner here on the blog Friday 26th September .

Happy Hopping!

PEACE * LOVE * JOY

Hey!

I'm back on schedule today with another card using the dove from Peace On Earth. This time I have paired it with a sentiment from Pure Florals: Poinsettia...

I used a couple of challenges to boost my creativity starting with the current retro sketches layout seen HERE and below. I also decided to use the dove again one because I've not given it much LOVE but also because of the current 'Less is More' challenge HERE which is Christmas cards & to use a bird.

I started out by stamping the sentiment repeatedly along panel of white card stock using VersaMagic Turquoise Gem, I then divided the panel into 3 sections measuring 4 x 6 cm.

The dove was left over from yesterdays card HERE and I've adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. The card was a little empty just with the dove so I decided to add a sparkly punched heart and a few rhinestones too.

I'm super HAPPY to see so many wonderful entries into our current challenge HERE. If you don't have any Uniko Studio Christmas themed stamps or products there are a few freebies HERE on the website you can use.

That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by :)

Love Doves!

Hey!

I'm finally here with a card to share & I am sorry for being MIA yesterday & so late today. A migraine decided to put a halt to my inky crafty session yesterday :( I'm feeling loads better today though slightly off my food, but that's never a bad thing!

Anyway, I've just finished making this card...

I've had the idea of this simple card for sometime now & had to put it into reality. I've neglected the doves & Peace On Earth set since it was released in October and so decided it was about time to show it some LOVE!

I love how this has turned out but think that if I made it again I would add some subtle heart detail to the Hawaiian Shores panel.

However, I simply die cut the SU! Experssion Thinlets 'love' from some thin red CS from my stash and adhered it flat to the Hawaiian Shores panel. The doves are stamped in silver & embossed with star dust EP and fussy cut out. I cut off the back wing so that I could adhere that flat to the card and use foam adhesive to raise the main part of the dove to add some dimension. I finished the 2 layers off by rounding a single corner for a little more interest & detail.

Such an easy card for any 'love' occasion not just valentines but it could be customised for a wedding card using the bride & grooms wedding colours.

That's all from me today, I think an early night is on the cards for me, I will be back tomorrow though with another card to share, thanks for stopping by :)

'Lovey Dovey'

Hey!

It's a bit 'Lovey Dovey' on the blog today with a little non-holiday card...

I've had this little idea stuck in my head since I designed the Peace On Earth set and had to put it into reality, so I did. The heart from Flower Power #3 and the sentiment are perfect for pairing with the Doves from Peace On Earth to create a love themed card.

I kept it super simple & added lots of my favourite glitter to embellish the card & add that special touch for the recipient. Short & Sweet from me today as I spend some quality time with my husband!

Thanks for stopping by today & hope you all have a wonderful love filled day :)
