My Five Faves From Year 1 of Uniko

Hey!

What a wonderful day I had yesterday, THANK YOU for the out pouring of love, support and wonderful orders, not just yesterday & today but over the past 5 years. You are ALL just the best :)

There is still a few hours left to take advantage of the FREE Worldwide Shipping Offer!

Anyway, I decided that I would take a wander back over the past 5 years and each day leading up to the February 2017 Sneak Peeks choose my 5 favourite projects from that year. Oh my, what a task that was! Not that I love everything I made back then, my style has certainly changed some what over the years but I had A LOT more time on my hands back then and created so many cards!

Here is what I chose from Year One...

This first card is an all TIME favourite and I think it will always hold a special place in my heart. This card was originally designed way back at University when I was near completing my degree and planning on launching Uniko. It uses stamps from one of my two debut clear stamp sets which were launched back on Feb 11th 2012!

Unfortunately I have retired both Time and Extra Time clear stamp sets, due to the change in trends and demand for them. They might come back one day revised, refreshed and revamped who knows the 'time' trend might just have it's 'time' again! You can see more using these sets HERE on Pinterest.

Next I chose a card using the ALL time BEST seller since Uniko began, Pure Florals: Gerbera. This set was also partially designed back at Uni and I chose this as one of Uniko's first florals due to the colour options this flower has.

This flower looks FABulous in any colour of the rainbow! I also designed it to appeal to people who like to colour and those who don't, providing a solid stamp and an outline stamp, plus it features two views of the flower.

This set has had SO many requests over the past couple of weeks and these past few days, that it will be coming back into stock really soon. I just need to get the February 2017 Release underway and then I will get them ordered along with some other popular clear stamp sets which have recently sold out. To see more using this set, head on over to Pinterest HERE.

Ah, Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time. Another clear stamp set designed at Uni alongside Time & Extra Time. This set is SO much fun and looks fabulous as large sparkly snowflakes like in the card below.

I nearly retired this set recently, but it'll be making one last appearance in the shop before it retires in the next month or so ;) To see more using this set check out the Pinterest page HERE.

Do you remember the label trend? This next card uses Label Love: Christmas, which is on SALE as it is retiring :( The label trend seems to have passed its best and I have to make these tough decisions to make room for NEW clear stamp sets!

However, I chose this card because I remember REALLY enjoying making this card. Building the large tree out of the smaller tree AND all the sparkle. It's hard to see in the photo, but each of the little trees are filled with clear sparkly glitter - YUM!

You can see more using Label Love: Christmas HERE and you'd be able to recreate a version of this card using Christmas Pop Clear Stamp Set ;)

Lastly, but by no means least I chose this card below...

Like I said at the beginning with my first card Time and Extra Time will always hold a special place in my heart. I just LOVE this colour combo too, Papertrey Ink Soft Stone, Hawaiian Shores, White and Stampin' Up! Basic Grey.

I ended with this card too as I wanted to say, THANK YOU again to you all! Thank you for stopping by and reminiscing with me as I take my wander down memory lane.

I''ll be back again tomorrow with more to share :)
Hugs

YAY....CHRISTMAS!

Hey!

So.... it's been a crazy week or so here at Uniko HQ, with all the normal Christmas preparations, it took me longer than expected to recover from the bugs that hit our household :(

However, I can say now that I am feeling at least 95% better, I think I will feel 100% when I've finished all the little finishing touches for Christmas, like make the neighbour cards & close family cards! Yep, I STILL have cards to make!

I did find a little energy at the weekend to create a few Christmas cards that will most likely arrive late as I missed the 'official' last posting dates...doh! Anyway, this is one of the CAS designs I came up with...

I decided to use the recently released Jingle Bells clear stamp set as the main focus and added a sentiment from the retiring Label Love: Christmas clear stamp set.

Even though it was time consuming I decided to stamp all 4 layers of the poinsettia, fussy cutting one and also stamping, embossing and fussy cutting the bell. I added some clear Wink Of Stella to the bell for a little subtle shimmer and some gold pearls finished the design off. I am quite pleased with the design & hope the recipients do too (when they get them)!

Before I go & make some MORE Christmas cards I have a winner to announce for the recent Winter/Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop HERE. I added an extra prize for one lucky comment and random.org has chosen lucky comment #10 who is....

You sure know how to impress with CAS!! So merry and bright. Thanks for being such a generous sponsor of the hop!

Congratulations Becca! Please send me an email to bev@uniko.co.uk by 31st December 2015 along with your postal address and I will get your winning goodies on their way to you.

Thank you to everyone who joined in on the hop and took the time to comment on the Uniko post, I didn't quite manage to comment on all the entries, but the few I did and what I have seen in the gallery is AMAZING!

Anyway, best dash, these cards are not going to make themselves and I hope to share them here too with you all. If I don't make it back to wish you all a Merry Christmas I will now!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

TIME OUT Challenges - Home Sweet Home

Hey!

I'm here this morning with another TIME OUT Challenges card. This fortnight is Home Sweet Home with a interiors photo to spark your inspiration...

This is how I was inspired by the photo...

I was mainly inspired by the rustic feel of the photo, but also the pillow on the sofa & sentiment on the shelf. I decided to ink up Background Builders: Vines and gave it a Christmassy feel with the colours and added a few stamped berries from Label Love: Christmas. The sentiment is from Peace On Earth, below is a close up of the detail...

That' all from me today, for all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) Until the next time, thank you for stopping by.

Countdown to Christmas Day 3

Hey!

It's no secret that I LOVE Snowflakes & ALL things SNOW! Every morning I wake and hope to open my windows to it snowing or that fresh snow has laid overnight. Much to my disappointment that hasn't happened yet :(

Anyway, I decided to incorporate my Christmas window dream into a card reality & made two versions, you can decide which is your favourite but I'm leaning towards the kraft & white version...

I used a Papertrey Ink label die to create the window, die cutting it once then moving it down slightly and die cutting again to create an elongated window.

For my second card I changed it to a landscape card and decided to use the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours seen HERE and below, I chose white to use as my other colour.

Typing the post now, it is like I've done a day & night version! On this second card I stamped the snowflakes using VersaMark Dazzle ink which has a subtle shimmer to it.

Do you dream of a white Christmas? They say the weather is getting colder here towards the end of the week & predicting rain & haven't forecast snow, but I can only keep everything crossed and hope they're wrong!

That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow in the afternoon with Day 4 of the Christmas Countdown, be sure to stop by in the morning too as we have a guest joining us on the blog :) Until then thank you for stopping by :)

Countdown to Christmas Day 2

Hey!

Happy Monday & welcome back to day 2 of my Countdown to Christmas. If the days keep flying by like they have this past weekend I don't think I will ever be ready! I was at The Paperlane yesterday for a little demo as it was Santa Sunday in Northallerton. I made a couple of cards and they all featured glitter, such a quick & easy way to add sparkle to a CAS creation.

I've just whipped up a couple more cards using mainly double sided tape to adhere the glitter...

Double sided tape is available in so many different widths it is easy to create lots of different variations. I've used a 12 mm wide DST on both these cards today, which is double the width of DST I normally use. This made adding the strips easier and it was quick to fill a panel of CS. Using a fine glitter like the Hero Arts Prisma Glitter goes a long way, making these two cards hardly made a dent in my pot of glitter.

For my second card I did some super CAS stamping using the little tree from Label Love: Christmas to create a larger tree & of course adding lots of glitter...

I started out by stamping the 3 trees along the bottom starting with the right hand side and stamping towards the left and then built my tree up from there. I added some simple red rhinestones to tie in the sentiment stamped in red and added some glitter to the trees. Before I adhered the panel to the card base I used the same technique as the first card using my wide DST and glitter.

Both my cards took me under 20 minutes to make and with a simple assembly line style a batch of each could be whipped up in no time at all. Plus, if you get bored like me making all the  cards the same, switch them up by changing the colours of the CS or even the glitter. Another positive thing about both these cards is that they use minimal supplies which equals minimal cost.

Both these cards are perfect for the Sparkle "less is more" challenge HERE too, so I will be linking these beauties up a bit later. Be sure to checkout the challenge & also ALL the inspiration in the gallery.

Ok, that's all from me today I have some lovely customer orders to pack & post - thank you :) and some 'to do lists' to write!

Seize THE Snowflake!

Hey & Happy Black Friday!

If you fancy grabbing yourself a FABULOUS bargain today through to Monday then pop on over to the Uniko Studio website HERE.

Ok, so on to todays card...

Now, this super shimmery & CAS beauty took me less than 10 minutes to make, I think I have found my last minute, all hands on deck, panic stations Christmas card! I used the current Seize the Sketch HERE and seen below for the basic layout of my card.

I've used white shimmer card for the base and silver shimmer card for the snowflake. The sentiment label from Label Love: Thank you is stamped in silver pigment & embossed with star dust EP and the sentiment is from Label Love: Christmas. It really does shimmer & sparkle IRL which is hard to see in the photos but trust me it's there.

Ok, I had best get to packing some lovely customer orders ;) Be sure to check out the bargains HERE and tomorrow is also Super FREE Saturday :) So I hope to see you tomorrow too! Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Label LOVE

Hey!

Seriously how did it get to Wednesday already?! I can't believe we're half way through the week, it'll soon be the weekend & Christmas before before I know it - mild panic may have just kicked in! I think I've decided on a Christmas card to mass produce for a few people anyway it's the first card in the post HERE. I've done the same colour scheme and a new one which I will share later. I couldn't resist not using my FAVE Christmas set Stunning Snowflakes - it would have been rude not to! There are still a few sets available in store HERE, they've been fluttering off the shelves since the restock ;)

Anyway, I've another Stunning Snowflake card to share with you today & this time I have paired it with Label Love: Christmas

I've used my favourite label from the set, I think it's my favourite as I love filling the white stripes with glitter! The let it snow sentiment also from the set which works perfectly with the stamped snowy background.

That's all from me today, there is many a Christmas card to be made & mailed out. I've also quite a few Baby Congratulation cards to make which has me stumped at the moment! I hope you all have a FABulous day & thank you for stopping by :)

Polka Dots & Snowflakes!

Hey!

Do you ever have those days where every idea you try to create doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to? Well, I do and today is one of those days! Hence the lateness of my post today. I had a few ideas in my head, 2 failed attempts later this is the result...

I'm still not 100% happy with it but it's all the creative mojo I have today! I've combined a few sets on this card which is possibly the problem, all the supplies I've used are listed below.

Short & sweet from me today as I've a few tasks to complete before I spend an evening with a bestie in York. Be sure to stop by tomorrow as you'll be in for a TREAT & no tricks I promise!

More Modern Poinsettias!

Hey!

I'm back today with another card to share which I made on World Card Making Day & during my demo at The Paperlane...

On this card I have combined the solid flower from Flower Power #1 with a round label from Label Love: Thank you, which was heat embossed to help it stand out on the Kraft card stock. The Natures Treasures 1 leaves appear again to accompany the flowers & a sentiment from Label Love: Christmas.

I'm really enjoying using the flower to create a clean & modern Poinsettia, can you tell?

Another fairly mass produceable Christmas card, if you like a bit of fussy cutting! I've still a couple of cards to share from WCMD, but I will save them for another time.

Short & sweet from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by today :)

Decorative Doilies!

Hey!

Happy Friday Eve as Aimes would say, I am liking that phrase as I am looking forward to the weekend, it's been a long & challenging week here in the studio!

Also, it is World Card Making Day on Saturday - YAY! A whole day dedicated to making cards and all things paper crafting. Have you any crafting planned?

I have, I am at The Paperlane where I will be doing a demo from 10am - 2pm and a card making class from 2pm - 5pm. There are still a couple of places left for the class, I'd LOVE you to join us for some paper crafting fun :)

Anyway, on to todays card...

Yep, I dusted off those doilies again to create another CAS Christmas card easy to mass produce, when I realise I am running out of time & haven't been as organised as I planned! This time I have turned them into bauble doilies which sparkle, you have to have a bit of sparkle at Christmas, don't you think?

I used 3 of the doilies from the set and stamped them in Silver pigment ink & heat embossed them with some stardust embossing powder. The string is hand drawn with a ruler and the bows are stamped from Label Love: Birthday.

That's all from me today, I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday & thank you for stopping by today :)

The Perfect Sketch!

Hey!

Happy Monday :)

So the other night I made a total of 5 cards and was super impressed with myself! You saw the first card HERE which was for the Uniko Studio Challenge #2, I'd LOVE for you to join in BTW!

Today, you get to see cards 2 - 4, yep a little trio of Christmas cards, I think this is a first for me to make a Christmas cards this early! It was all down to the perfect sketch, the current CAS(E) this Sketch! sketch to be exact seen HERE and below...

As soon as I saw it, the Uniko Studio Label Love series jumped to mind and this little trio of cards were created...

I seem to be seeing a few Christmas themed cards around blog land and so that was the reasoning behind making a Christmas trio. I started out with Label Love: Christmas for this first card seen above and kept things super CAS & adding LOTS of Prisma Glitter (think this might have to be replenished before the BIG Christmas card stash is created!)

Following on for the next card I decided to use a Label Love: Thank you label with a Christmas sentiment inside...

I kept the colour scheme the same, as well as the overall layout using the sketch as my guide.

For the last card I wandered from the sketch to create a gift look with my ribbons and used a label from Label Love: Birthday with another different Christmas sentiment. I love mixing & matching these sets, SO many possibilities :)

Again, I kept the colour theme the same, added more Prisma Glitter and a little rhinestone. I'm really pleased with my first little trio of Christmas cards for 2013!

Apologies for the 'off' photos, we got a new camera the other day and I am still learning & getting to grips with it & the white balance, hopefully it won't take me too long to figure it out!

That's all I have to share for today, I'll be back again tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by :)

Design Team Inspiration - Christmas in July

uniko iron craft

Stacey here with a little Christmas in July inspiration!  Chaitali over at Cuts, Crops and Creativity invited me for the Iron Craft Challenge using Uniko Studio's Text Style Christmas Digital Patterned Paper Collection with the Christmas in July theme!  How fun is that?!

I'll be giving away this fabulous Text Style Christmas Digital Patterned Paper Collection to one lucky someone who leaves a comment at Stacey's Stamping Stage, and/or at Cuts, Crops and Creativity.

The Label Love: Christmas stamp set was a perfect choice to pair up with the beautiful papers...I inked up a couple of the labels in Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler ink, fussy-cut them, and propped them up on a few layers of Text Style Christmas digital paper!

I hope you feel inspired to create something amazing today...a Christmas in July project, perhaps?!

Thanks for stopping by!
