Flowers For YOU!

Hey!

Welcome back to the first blog post of a NEW week! I'm continuing the theme I started last week in looking back at previously released products available from Uniko Studio and creating some NEW projects using them as well as looking at old projects.

Today I have Flowers For YOU as we look back at a more recently released product ...

This set was the last stamp set released here at Uniko Studio back in July. A lovely floral set featuring both linear and solid stamps for some 2 step stamping & for those who like to colour and those who don't!

Even though I have used this set a lot in recent blog posts I managed to whip up a few more NEW projects ...

This first card uses the full solid flower and smallest line leaf stamps from the Pure Florals: Gerbera stamp set. I used the current iSpy sketch for the layout of my card seen HERE and below and the colours were inspired by the current 'Less is More' challenge colours HERE which are to use pink & brown.

I kept the card as simple as possible by stamping the leaf in Soft Suede ink onto white card stock and matting this layer with some Soft Suede card stock, rounding the corners before adhering to the pink card base. The flower is stamped using the Rock 'N' Roll technique but I only rocked the very edges of the petals.

This stamp set also has a digital patterned paper collection to give you even more possibilities in your crafting creations...

This next card uses just the digital paper collection seen above...

I think this has to be my favourite of the 2 new cards I have made I think because it has more white space. I'm not keen on coloured card bases but try to step out of my comfy zone now & then! Again I used the current 'Less is More' challenge colours of pink & brown on this card.

The digital paper collection has 2 types of patterned papers one with outline flowers in white onto a coloured background and a colourful solid flower on a coloured background.

For my card I used 2 of the first type of patterned paper in 2 colours Pretty in Pink & Sahara Sand. The flower is cut from the Pretty in Pink patterned paper. I used the new Retro Sketch challenge sketch for the layout of my card seen HERE and below.

Both my cards were made in less than 15 minutes and left blank for any occasion, a handy type of card to have to send to friends and family.

How about a quick look at a couple of cards that I made when I released this set ...

I've also got a few Uniko Studio customer cards to share with you who have made such wonderful cards using this set.

First up is Sheila...

Sheila is a friend from card club who hasn't been card making for long but is certainly flourishing with this CAS bloom.

Next is Camilla who has created a couple of beauties with this set...

I hope this post has shown you the many possibilities this stamp set holds & that it has inspired you in your card making & crafting! I'll be back again tomorrow with another instalment in this little series! Thanks for stopping by.

Feeling Distressed ...

Hey!

Wow, Wednesday already, Time flies that's for sure! So, at the weekend I took a little time out to test play with my NEW Tim Holtz Distress Markers. Yep, you heard me right, this CAS girl has jumped on the 'Distress' wagon!

But ... I'm keeping it CAS! Is that possible and as Kerry said "That sentence kinda messes with your head!"

One thing I am really 'loving' at the moment but haven't really explored or tried out is the watercolour look on cards. It's been popping up here and there in the design world and wanted to try it out. So after watching a couple of tutorial videos I gave my Distress Markers a whirl!

I started off really simple choosing a few colours and doing the direct to stamp colouring method. Yep, I realise that I could have just used my SU! markers for this technique but I think there is a bit of a difference in the result and I don't like feeling left out! Lol!

Here's a close up ...

After I had colour the solid Gerbera stamp with my chosen colours I gently spritzed with water before stamping onto regular white card stock. I'm looking forward to trying this out on different card stocks for different results but this is what I had on hand and I kinda like it.

A 'distressed' CAS card! How about a few more to make it a lovely gift set, in a rainbow of colours ...

One card took me less than 10 minutes to make which is perfect when your in a hurry! They're also perfect for a NEW to me challenge blog Pretty Pink Posh, I stumbled upon their 10 Minute Craft Dash Challenge HERE

I'm also entering these into the Moxie FAB World Focal Point challenge HERE. That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by.

Bingo!

Hello!

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a lovely weekend & are ready for the week ahead. It was a quiet but summery weekend here in The Studio and it's full steam ahead on lots of projects & much designing to be done.

So with that in mind on to todays card ...

For today's card I used the current bingo challenge over on Addicted To Stamps HERE & seen below. I've never participated in a bingo challenge before but I am seeing them around so thought I'd join in on the fun.

I chose the vertical line on the right hand side of the bingo card for my card. Flowers was easy, Pure Florals: Gerbera is perfect! Here's a close up of the embossing on the card as it's hard to see in the first photo...

I used Versamark ink & heat embossed the Gerbera's with Crystal embossing powder for a lovely sparkly finish.

Thats all from me today, but I'll be back again tomorrow with more to share! If you missed it over the weekend there is some blog candy HERE on the blog up for grabs!

Thanks for stopping by.

Retro Sketch #22

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I'm not quite back on schedule as I have been quite glued to the TV watching the Olympics! I've never really paid a huge amount of attention to the Olympics in the past, maybe watching only a few things now & then. This year I seem to be hooked, it could be partially due to it being hosted on home soil, but I am genuinely more interested than before. It's been a FAB day so far for Team GB with the women's rowing securing the 1st GOLD for the team.

Anyway, I'll get to the point of todays post & share my card ...

I stepped out of my comfort zone for this card & used Orange! It's been popping up here & there in my creations & I love colouring this Gerbera flower in the colour! I paired it with a FAVE of mine Hawaiian Shores, a pleasing crisp cheery combination.

I used the current Retro Sketch HERE & seen below for my card LO ...

Below is a little close up of the card ...

I'm also entering this card into the current Addicted to Stamps challenge HERE to use your markers!

Short & sweet today as I can hear the mens cycling time trials have started & we have a strong contender in this event Bradley Wiggins!

Have a fun filled day! Thanks for stopping by today.

Feeling Better ...

Hello!

So sorry to have left you hanging for the past few days with no new cards to share with you all, it's been a little crazy here in The Studio what with work deadlines and being unwell at the same time isn't a good mix.

I'm back today on form with a CAS card ...

For this card I used the current Play Date Cafe Challenge colours seen HERE and below and also the current Less Is More Challenge which is a sketch seen HERE and below...

The colours screamed flowers to me so I had to use the Pure Florals: Gerbera stamp set and paired it with a sentiment from Extra Time. The colours are so cheery that I felt it to be a get well card, it certainly cheered me up to get back to stamping for the blog here.

Thats all from me today, thank you for stopping by.

Freshly Coloured

Hey!

How did we get to Thursday?! This week is going by way too fast. It's been a busy one this week in The Studio but I'm managing to squeeze in a few challenge cards here & there! The card below is just one I squeezed in last night before calling it a night ...

I started out with the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch HERE and seen below. I knew I wanted to use the Gerbera flower for the 'any shape' part of the sketch! I'm loving using this flower at the moment, has anyone else used it in a creation yet? I'd love to see what you've created & how you have used the flowers.

I then needed a colour combo so decided to use the current ColourQ colours HERE & seen below. Now the Brilliant Blue scared me some what! I love the colour blue but such a bright blue is VERY bold & it needed to be used sparingly! So I used it as my card base & matting it with White CS. I did use it for the stamped sentiment from TIME which works really well.

I'm pretty chuffed with how this one turned out, I thought it was going to be quite iffy when I started out but it came together nicely! Here is a close up ...

I apologise for my Whites not being a White White in the photos I must sort my camera settings out properly. I can hear my brother tutting as I type that I haven't got it set right.

Well, thats all from me today, I'm sure I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Thanks for stopping by today.

Soft & Summery

YAY ... Happy Friday Everyone!

I hope you have all survived the working week! I have just about, the last few days have been a bit painful, pulling a muscle in the left side of your chest is not good! Anyway, it has not stopped me crafting & playing with paper, ink & stamps! I have blocked the pain out as I sat & made this card ...

I saw the new colours over at The Play Date Cafe and had to join in. The colours are shown below & HERE

I really surprised myself with this card & used way more of the yellow than I intended. I thought I would have used more of the mint colour as I an a bit of fan of that colour, but it's only appearance on the card is in one little button form!

I used PTI Lemon Tart CS for the base & panel as So Saffron was not quite the colour I wanted. I stamped the solid Gerbera from Pure Florals:Gerbera in Regal Rose & Calypso Coral onto White CS and fussy cut them out. It was quite therapeutic. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday and the buttons are Melon Berry, Aqua Mist & Hibiscus Burst from PTI. I finally added a little bit of bling for good measure!

Thats all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Thanks for stopping by.
