'Lovey Dovey'

Hey!

It's a bit 'Lovey Dovey' on the blog today with a little non-holiday card...

I've had this little idea stuck in my head since I designed the Peace On Earth set and had to put it into reality, so I did. The heart from Flower Power #3 and the sentiment are perfect for pairing with the Doves from Peace On Earth to create a love themed card.

I kept it super simple & added lots of my favourite glitter to embellish the card & add that special touch for the recipient. Short & Sweet from me today as I spend some quality time with my husband!

Thanks for stopping by today & hope you all have a wonderful love filled day :)

How Jolly, it's the Weekend!

Hey!

I'm in a JOLLY mood today, it might be because it's the weekend or it could possibly be due to the card I have to share with you today...

Yup, I've inked up Jolly Santa from Jolly Christmas and had fun with a little paper piecing. I rarely use patterned paper in my cards even though I have a HUGE stack of lovely papers! I decided to use a patterned paper from Basic Grey's Nordic Holiday. Along with using the paper for Santa I decided to add a strip down either side of the white panel he is stamped on.

I added a sentiment also from the Jolly Christmas set to a banner & some glitter to add a little sparkle & finish things off.

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today & have a Fabulously & Jolly day!

Supplies:
Card: PTI Kraft, White from stash
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Stamps: Uniko Studio Jolly Christmas

Design Team Inspiration - Non-Traditional Holiday Colors

Nicki here today with some Design Team Inspiration! I hope you've enjoyed seeing the wonderful creations by Bev and the design team lately using all the NEW products from the October release!

One set that seems to be super popular and one that I haven't used until now, is Stunning Snowflakes. I love the fact that there are 3 different snowflake designs, AND that they each have 3 different sizes! This makes for SOOOO many possibilities! Plus, those sentiments?! How cute are they, and how awesome are the fonts?!?! :)

I am a little tired of using the traditional red, green, and white for holiday cards (yes, already). So, I thought it was time to think outside the box a little, and use some non-traditional colors for this winter/holiday card.

I saw a bottle of Stickles sitting on my desk that I hadn't used much, and that was my inspiration for my color scheme. It's kind of a pink/coral color, so I decided to pair it with cream, kraft, and brown. I'm really loving how it all looks together!

First, the background was stamped using the "MERRY CHRISTMAS" stamp from Background Builders: Christmas. Next, the snowflakes were stamped with Pretty in Pink ink (SU) on top of the inked background. The die-cut snowflakes are layered, and popped up with foam tape. I placed the Stickles all around the outer edge of the pink snowflake to really give it some SPARKLE--and a little dab on the inside opening of the cream snowflake! Lastly, the sentiment is stamped with a medium brown ink.

I hope you've enjoyed this card today, and that I've inspired you to use some non-traditional colors for your holiday/winter cards!!

Pearlescent Snowflakes!

Hey!

I'm back today with another snowflake card, this time I have given them a pearlescent treatment with some perfect pearls...

It's been a while since I 'dusted' the perfect pearls and so I decided to put them to use on a simple snowflake card! I only have 2 colours of pearls, gold & orchid a lovely soft lilac colour. I started out by choosing my sentiment & 3 favourite snowflakes from the set & stamping them in versa mark ink onto some black card.

Then using a soft paint brush I brushed over the sentiment & smaller snowflakes with the gold perfect pearls & then used the orchid colour over the remainder of the snowflakes. Once I was happy I used a dry baby wipe to wipe off the excess, which also adds a lovely shimmer to the non stamped areas on the card. I also added a few rhinestones to the large & medium snowflakes for a little extra bling - you can never have too much!

That's all from me today, I hope I've inspired you to dig out & give those perfect pearls a dusting! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by :)
