Introducing... Background Builders: Squared

Hey!

Welcome back to day 2 of the product introductions, it looks like you enjoyed yesterdays production introduction, but if you missed it you can catch up on it HERE.

Today I am introducing a new background building set called Squared which you can probably guess the theme - squares! With all things geometric still being popular and on trend along with the 2013 all time best seller being Background Builders: Round In Circles a square version was inevitable!

Anyway, how about a couple of projects...

First up is a new version of THIS card I shared back in January, I loved the card so much I decided to recreate it slightly combining the two geometric sets. I've used one of the five building strips to create the squared strip on the right hand side.

My second card for today uses another of the building strips...

This time I have paired it with a sentiment from A Gift For You (more on that tomorrow) and the balloons from Label Love: Birthday to create another masculine birthday card.

Also contained in the set are some smaller patterned building blocks, I will be sharing some projects using those on release day.

That's all from me today, but like yesterday a couple of the DT and Guest Designer Rebecca are helping me introduce this set, so be sure to stop by their blogs.

Don't forget that over the next few days up until Release Day I will be picking some random lucky winners for prizes! There are lots of ways to be in the chance of being picked a winner, following & commenting here on the blog, DT & Guest Designer Blogs, Facebook, Pinterest to name but a few. Winners will be announced on the blog Feb 11th before the Release.

I do hope you will pop back tomorrow for the last product introduction. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Introducing.... Explosion!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

We're kicking the weekend off here at Uniko Studio HQ with the first of the product introductions for the February Release - YAY! If you missed the Sneak Peeks yesterday, you can catch up on them HERE.

Today I am introducing a new little set called Explosion. It all came about from my love of all things Pop Art and the cards I am sharing today reflect that love...

You've gotta love a bit of neon, right? I started out by stamping the explosion & sentiments in Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that I could use my neon Copic markers to flat colour the image. I just LOVE how vibrant this card is & it's perfect for a guy card!

Toning down ever so slightly from the neons, I created another card...

I did say 'ever so slightly'! I've kept with a bright pallet for this card and combined Background Builders: Round In Circles with the set to create the ombre polka dot background. I started out by stamping the explosion in VersaMagic Red Magic onto white card and trimmed it out leaving a border. I then stamped the sentiment and exclamation mark and used a yellow marker to colour it in.

I then adhered the explosion onto some black card and again fussy cut around leaving a small border. The Happy Birthday sentiment is a little peek from another set being introduced on Monday.

So, what do you think? Do you like what you've seen so far?? I'd love to know ;) I've a couple of the DT joining me with the introductions today, along with our Guest Designer this month Rebecca from Mellymoo Papercrafting. Be sure to stop by their blogs for more inspiration using this set...

Don't forget that over the next few days up until Release Day I will be picking some random lucky winners for prizes! There are lots of ways to be in the chance of being picked a winner, following & commenting here on the blog, DT & Guest Designer Blogs, Facebook, Pinterest to name but a few. Winners will be announced on the blog Feb 11th before the Release & Reveal post.

NOW, if that wasn't enough excitement, I have another HUGE announcement to make, incase you missed it on Facebook last night. I am beyond thrilled and super excited to confirm that from the 11th February i {heart} papers in the USA will be stocking a selection of Uniko Studio goodies along with the NEW release!!! YAY! Lots of happy dancing :)

Thats all I have to share for today, I do hope you will pop back tomorrow for the next product introduction. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

February 2014 Sneak Peeks

Hey & Happy Friday!

The February Release is almost here & it's time to share sneak peeks at the three new clear stamp sets being released on February 11th 9am GMT. So without further ado lets get to it...

First up is this little retro 60's style explosion, if you love Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol & all things pop art, then this is the set for you! Well, even if you don't or don't have a clue what I am on about this little set is sure to add a WOW factor to your creations & it's perfect for those troublesome masculine cards too!

Next we have a peek at a new background building set. With Background Builders: Round In Circles being the top seller of 2013, I decided to continue the geometric focus with all things squared. The geometric trend is still hot and this set is another reach for set for those masculine cards. However, they can be the perfect backdrop for a feminine card too!

The last sneak peek for the February Release doesn't need much explaining really, with this release being Uniko Studio's 2nd Birthday I had to release a birthday themed set. The sentiments may just be birthday themed, but this cute little gift can be used all year round for many an occasion or holiday.

I'd LOVE to know what you think of these little peeks at what's to come :) As it's a special occasion I will once again be choosing random lucky WINNERS from today through to release day, for commenting, sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & more. I will announce the winners just before the Release & Reveal Post on February 11th.

I do hope you will join me tomorrow for the first product introduction, we also have a FABulous Guest Designing for us this month... Rebecca from Mellymoo, be sure to stop by Rebecca's BLOG to check out her awesome creations.

Until tomorrow & thank you for stopping by today :)

Fluttering By!

Hey!

I'm fluttering by super quick this evening to share a little card I managed to squeeze in & make in between lots & LOTS of samples for the upcoming February Release. I can't quite believe that it is Sneak Peek time tomorrow and from Saturday through to Monday I will be introducing each of the new products, be sure to pop by tomorrow for all the details :)

Anyway, back to the card!

So, I saw the new CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below and I just love the simplicity of it, yet there are SO many directions you could go in.

As you can see I went for a fairly CAS design using BRIGHT Butterflies paired with a sentiment from Flower Power #2. I started out by stamping the butterfly in Pink Petunia but decided it needed toning down a little so I added a vellum die cut butterfly over the top. It also added a lovely bit of dimension.

Ok, I had best go I have one more card to make before I call it a night! I hope to see you all tomorrow BRIGHT & early for the Sneak Peeks ;) until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Cure for the Monday Blues - Pattern Tastic!

Hey!

I think I'm back in the creative groove, it's been a while since I dedicated a block of a few hours to sit and create and I've missed it! I've been working hard creating samples to share with you for the ever approaching February Release and also creating projects for the two classes on Saturday at The Paperlane. There is one space left in each class see the Classes & Demo page HERE for the details.

Anyway, I found a little time to squeeze in a card for the newest challenge in town called Cure for the Monday Blues & hosted by the awesomely talented & very creative DT member Taheerah. Be sure to stop by Taheerah's BLOG for all the details.

This week the inspiration is THIS pattern tastic inspiration photo...

Now I couldn't resist joining in with this one! I instantly reached for my loved but neglected Background Builders: Chevrons set to start this card stamping it repeatedly in black ink onto a rectangle of white CS. I then used my Spica at you pens to add a splash of colour.

Before adhering the rectangle on an angle to the base card I stamped the base card with the grunge circles from Background Builders: Round In Circles and added a die cut star stamped with a sneaky peek of a new set coming your way very soon!

Ok, that's all from me today, there is much inking & stamping to be done! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 6 Sketch - Reminder

Hello everyone! We have our guest designer Anita from France from My Papercraft World on board today to share with us her project:

I was thrilled to have my card chosen as a winner in the last challenge at Uniko Studio ... and equally thrilled to realise that as a result, I get to join the team as Guest Designer this time round!  This month, we have a sketch from the hugely talented Gayatri to inspire us.
All my Uniko stamps are all Christmas or winter themed sets, so I thought it may be rather a challenge to make a different card with what I had.  However, that wasn’t the case ... Bev’s made sure that her stamp sets are more versatile than that!  I used the heart and wee branch from the ’Jolly Christmas’ to create this sweet Valentine’s wreath.

I drew a circle in pencil, stamped the branch randomly around it using two different greens, and added the sentiment (from Winnie & Walter).  The hearts were stamped in Valentine colours, trimmed out, had Wink of Stella applied liberally to add sparkle and were popped up on foam dots on the wreath.  The twine acts as a ‘hanger’ and I finished off with a scattering of tiny heart sequins that tumble down the card, coming to rest between the popped up hearts on the wreath.
I do hope you’ll have chance to play along ... even if you don’t have any Uniko Studio stamps yet, you can use Bev’s Super Free Saturday images until you get hooked!

The Challenge Rules:
  • You have until Feb14th 09:00 UK time, to link your card up below
  • Winners will be announced by Feb 17th
  • Please add the Uniko Studio Challenge badge & link back to the challenge
  • If you don't have a blog to link back to the challenge, don't worry. Just use "USC"+<challenge number> as your tag. For example, for the second challenge "USC2"
  • Showcase any Uniko Studio product: clear stamps, dies, digital pattern paper, digital cut files, or digital stamps. If you haven't purchased any Uniko Studio products, fear not. Plenty of freebies here.
The Prizes:
  • A £10 Gift Certificate to the Winner & Guest Design Team spot on the blog for the next challenge
  • Top Three Spotlight
We can't wait to see your creations. Come play along!

"Less is More" Sponsor & Guest Designer

Hey & Happy Weekend!

Today I am guest designing over at the "Less is More" challenge blog HERE. This month Uniko Studio is also the sponsor and there is a £15 Gift Certificate up for grabs to spend in store.

Now if that wasn't enough fun it is also their 3rd Birthday and they are celebrating this week with another fun challenge and lots of guest designer inspiration. Be sure to join in on all the fun :)

The challenge this week is RAINBOW and this is my interpretation of the challenge...

Now, I don't own any rainbow themed stamps so I decided to do my rainbow version of THIS card I shared a few weeks ago. It's not my best creation and it's not how I envisioned it to turn out, my mojo seems to be awol!

Anyway, be sure to stop on by the "Less is More" blog HERE to join in on the fun :) I can't wait to see what you create. Until next time, thank you for stopping by today :)
