Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Monday Blues

Good Morning,

Steph here today with my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for June. As we are focussing on masculine makes this month, I have dug out some older Uniko stamp sets and focused on blue hues.

My first card uses the Uniko Block Party Coffee Love stamp set. I started by sweeping my white card with a light grey cube ink pad and then stamped and coloured the image. I added faux 'planks' using an embossing board before attaching to a card blank using foam pads.

Sticking with the grey ink and blue alcohol markers, I changed my stamp to Uniko Background Blocks Equaliser stamp set. I used the sentiment and the extra musical notes stamps from the set to finish off the card.

And finally for today, I created a birthday card with the Uniko Up & Away stamp set. I stamped the hot air balloon and basket before colouring in and fussy cutting out. I attached this to piece of card on which I had stamped clouds, the flag tail and the sentiment.

That's all my cards for today which hopefully has given you some masculine inspiration for Father's Day this coming weekend (in the UK).

Much love

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - CASE Myself

This is a second special Birthday-surprise for Bev!

Today it's on me to join into the fun of the CASE myself event on the Uniko Blog!
There's a difference to the other participating crafters - they are all Alumni Team Members who just came back to celebrate the 10th Birthday of Uniko with Bev, the team and all customers...
But I am still an active member! During the next days you will see what I'm talking about... the February Release is coming closer - just a few days left until the Sneak Peek and Introducing Days will start!
😀

Beverley released her very first stencil designs in autumn 2017.
I was so honoured when Bev asked me to join a small team with a focus on stencils! Sure I wanted!
During the years I had some Guest Designer postings, but wasn't a permanent member of any team before!
On February, 17th 2018 Bev introduced our new Stencil Design Team on the Uniko Blog
- Sarah Gray, Julie Beech, Linda Walmsley and me.

But first let's return to the CASE myself event!
Is there anything closer than using my very first contribution I made as fresh team member of the Stencil Design Team and CASE it?
Definitly not!

This is the card I used as CASE inspiration:

KomMa-designed_K1-907
K1-907 - fly by balloons

I made three new cards.

For the first one I used the Equalizer block Stencil, The English Country Garden Butterflies Stamps and Dies and a sentiment of the Anniversaire Arts Décoratives set.
Here I've used the layout and the colours of the balloon card. I also took the three different colours of the balloons to the butterflies. The background isn't embossed here, but the front of the butterflies and the sentiment are. The butterflies are adhered one side flat, the other one with a mix of 1 mm and 2 mm dimensional pads.

K1-1561 - Birthday Butterflies

The second one is made with the Honeycomb Pattern Stencil and the Bee happy and Simply Said Blocks II.
Here I've used the layout, but different colours. Again I intensified the colours from top to bottom. The three bees are identical, but (like balloons in the wind) they fly in different directions. The sentiment isn't on a banner this time, but it has a black background like in the original card.

KomMa-designed_K1-1560_#1
K1-1560 - Bee Wishes

And the third one is in the background like the one before, but I changed the sentiment to one of Floral Vines and the bees to "the one" of Mid Century Modern Florals.
Maybe you can remember, where you have seen these bees before?
If not, hop here or here and you will find my funny special own bee-creations - it's like a second act of CASEing myself.
The little rings and dots give an optical kind of black background for the sentiment, but with a lighter, less bold look.

DT Inspiration - stenciled resist technique

Hello, Wiebke here to share some inspiration with you!

For today I made a colourful "sound card" with a stenciled resist technique.
The Uniko products I've used are the Equaliser stencil and a combination of the stamp sets Life is a Song & Most Wonderful.

Magic of Music
Magic of Music - Detail
:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

About this card & technique:
For the stenciled resist technique I first applied a clear embossing paste through the Equaliser stencil onto the paper. After it was complete dry I started adding the colours - this time I used Zig Clean Color Real Brushes and blended them with a moisturised cloth and a brush and some water.
(When you don't have clear embossing paste you can also use clear embossing powder - apply the embossing ink through the stencil and then add the powder - don't forget to use a antistatic powder tool before!)

The embossed areas will stay white / in the colour of your paper and pop out of any colourful background!
Some colours tint clear products - if you want it really clear you need to check the combination of your materials before!
In this case it was ok for me to get some staining, it reminds me more to the old "Winamp Music tool"! ;-)

I cut down my paper in the shape of the equaliser blocks (with a similar edge around) and adhered it to my cardbase. The sentiment is a combination of two different Uniko stamp sets - Life is a Song & Most Wonderful,
To repeat the clear part of the background I used clear embossing powder for the first part of my sentiment "believe in the magic of" and white powder for the "music" and the note.
To add some sparkle, I drew a slim line around the sentiment with the amazing Sakura Gelly Roll - clear star pencil.

The headphones are a die cut (sorry, I have no brand name). I combined a normal black and a pearlescent black paper to get some optical dimension. The shells are adhered on the card with some 3D pads, for the rest I used a strong fluid glue.

Musical greetings from Wiebke.

Guest Designer Inspiration with Anna Uhras

Hi Dear Friends!

Anna here today sharing one of my Guest Designer pages with you. I am so happy, proud and very grateful to Bev for inviting me to be a guest here at Uniko, thanks so much!

This layout I have made using the gorgeous Uniko Equaliser stencil together with some Nuvo Embellishment Mousse and the lovely and versatile Simply Said II Clear Stamps.
The papers are by one of the new Bo Bunny collections, Summer Mood, and the title are by Thickers, both from my own stash.

I started up my page making my background using the stencil together with pink and yellow Nuvo Mousse. After drying I builded up my page using a few papers, thread, Thickers and finished my page of with stamping a few words in black.

Sometimes the simple is enough and I think the cool equaliser pattern needs some space without too much embellishments around.

Oh, of course, I made a few stitches with my sewing machine as well :)

That's all for now, see you again for my second and last Guest Designer Inspiration post here May 26th.

Thanks for stopping by today!

CAS Colours & Sketches #267 - Sketch

Hey!

A new month means a new hostess and Karen is our hostess for April. Last week Karen started things off with a fun colour combo and this week HERE, this wonderful sketch...

With a busy few weeks ahead of me I 'made' time to create a few cards for various responsibilities! One being my cards for the CC&S DT. Here's what I came up with using this weeks sketch...

Having a bit more time to create & think about my project, I was inspired to use some other Uniko February Release products! I had so many ideas and choices of stamp set for this sketch, but I decided to use Background Blocks Equaliser to create this masculine card.

I used my MISTI tool to position and stamp the equaliser block in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then coloured it in from bottom to top in a ombre selection of Cool Grey Prismacolor Pencils. This took some time to colour, but I think the results are worth it :)

I then added a sentiment strip, which is adhered to the card using 1mm thick foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and is stamped in Altenew Aqualicious ink.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by!
