Two For Tuesday - Background Blocks Pinstripe

 Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I'm a little later than planned with my post today, mainly because my desk was hurried under a mountain of barcodes for most of the day - haha! It's been two years since my last show and I didn't realise how many new products needed barcodes.

Anyway, today I am sharing a couple of cards featuring Background Blocks Pinstripe. Like all the background blocks, this stamp is no exception and a great staple in your stamp arsenal. I love using it as a quick focal point accent to florals, this time I've tried to use it in a couple of new ways.

First I went for this colour block design and added the Pinstripes in gold to add a little accent feature. I also gold embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from Floral Vines. I think this is such a quick fun design which can be altered to the recipients favourite colour.

For my second card I was keen to pair the Pinstripes with a floral. As my Passion Flower in the garden is still going strong, I chose Passiflora.

For this card I created a circle stencil from copy paper to stamp the Pinstripes through in black. I fancied a circle over a rectangle or square to complement the Passion Flower.

I stamped and die cut the elements of the Passion Flower and adhered using foam adhesive. The sentiment I chose for this card is from Doodle Flowers

That's all I have to share today, I hope I have given you a couple more ways to use not only Background Blocks Pinstripe, but any of the Background Blocks. They really are good fun.

Merry Monday & A Winner!

Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and you were able to spend some time getting creative. I had planned to spend some time in the studio creating, but an old shoulder injury decided to surface and so I spent the weekend resting it instead.

Anyway, enough of my woes, I am here today all be it late 🙈 to announce the winner of the Sept/Oct 2021 Release Blog Hop & Giveaway. But before I get to that I do have a card to share...

Today I thought I would make a quick CAS card using some of the newest festive stamps at Uniko. I've been pretty much obsessed with the string of lights from Pattern Building Christmas Tree and today was no exception!

I used a sentiment from Christmas Sentiments and added my usual Nuvo Drops to the lights. I love the added dimension and sheen like a light bulb they give. I added some sparkly card I had in my off cuts box to add a mat layer and a little more interest to finish.

Okay, so how about that winner!

Thank you to everyone who hopped along, who commented along the way, to all those who supported on the social media platforms and for all the lovely orders too. Random number generator helped me pick the winner and the lucky comment is...

They say "small is beautiful" and those tags certainly are. I love the dark shading on the pointsetta

Congratulations!

Please send me your postal address in an email to bev@uniko.co.uk no later than 31st October 2021 to claim your prize.

Have a wonderful week.

A CAS Sympathy Card - BA Inspiration

Good evening, Julie here with a late evening bit of BA inspiration.
It's the start of a new challenge at Perfectly CAS and my DT inspiration card uses Uniko's Pure Floral - Lily set to make a sympathy card.
Sympathy cards are not the easiest of cards to make so I try to have a couple ready in my stash for those unwanted but necessary occasions. You don't always have the inspiration for a brand new make at times like that.

So here is quite a quick CAS card to add to your stash.

The lilies were stamped with Memento Grey Flannel on white card and masked to create a bouquet. After colouring with Copic markers, using a Googled image as a guide, I cut out the bouquet with a circle die. I also cut a piece of copy paper with the same die for use later.

Using the original circle die and a slightly smaller one, I die cut a frame from white fun foam and then cut a frame from my die cut, stamped panel to match. The fun foam frame was added to the copy paper and the centre panel also. The outer frame was then added to the fun foam frame matching the pattern and a sentiment from All Occasion Sentiments, stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with white EP, added. I think the frame adds interests but keeps the card CAS.

The completed panel was then added to a 5 x 7 dark grey card. White space isn't always white!

Hopefully I've given you a idea for a card for a hard to make situation. One I hope will be in my stash for quite awhile!!

So 'til next time, keep safe and keep crafting!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Flower Power #1 Stencil

Morning all,

Thanks for joining me, Steph, today for my Brand Ambassador post where I am showcasing the recently released Uniko Flower Power #1 stencil

For all three of my cards I have used a blue and pink palette but in different ways. I have also made use of the recently released Uniko Christmas Sentiments stamp set, which I love!

This card focuses on the blue hues and I thought the stencil could represent snowflakes.

With my second card I added in more pink and highlighted this with some pink sequins.

Finally I moved the stencil to each corner of my card stock and ink blended a soft mix of blue and pink. This left a nice gap in the centre for lots of lovely sentiments.

I hope these give you some inspiration on how to create a few quick Christmas cards using the stencil and sentiments. They would work well in a number of different colour combinations too.

Happy crafting!
Steph x

Mixed Media Monday - Alumni Brand Ambassador Lindsey Bowe

Hello & Happy Monday!

Today I am delighted to be back with another Mixed Media Monday and I am honoured to have our Alumni Brand Ambassador Lindsey Bowe joining us again.

Lindsey Bowe

Hello everyone, I am delighted to be back today to share a Journal front cover  with you.

To start I stamped and white embossed the mandala from Marvellous Mehndi on watercolour paper, followed by Dylusions spray inks.

I then added gold acrylic paint with an old bottle top & picked up the surplus ink & paint on a piece of white card - an easy way to make a coordinated piece of coloured card stock.

I used the white “mop-up” card to cut out a background circle for my focal point and picked up the gold theme with some thread.

For my focal point I chose the sweet flower from You Are, Yes You clear stamp set & coloured it with pastels.

Here is the final piece, embellished with sequins, my usual stitching & an off cut of some gold ribbon. Bling bling!

Wow! Such a beautiful and inspiring piece. I do love the idea of decorating a journal cover in this way. I hope you have enjoyed todays feature and a big THANK YOU to Lindsey for inspiring us all Gin.

BA Inspiration - Christmas Money/Gift Card Holder

Hi! It's Jane here today with some ideas for using Uniko Christmas stamps, dies and stencils for a really useful and very simple money/gift card holder.

All three were constructed in the same way starting with a 6"x6" piece of card which I decorated with a stencil or stamping.

Three edges were scored at 3/4", the corners mitred and a notch punched at the top.

A piece of 4 3/8" x 6 1/4" contrast card was inserted and glued to the patterned card.

Here's what it looks like at the back. You could tidy this up by adding another piece of card.

For this card I used the stencil Christmas Folk Snowflake and the Sparkling Snowflake die.

For this card I used the Pattern Building Christmas Tree stamp set.

And for my last card I used the Scandinavian Christmas stencil and a sentiment from Christmas Wishes.

Thank you so much for looking today. I hope you like what you've seen and if you feel inspired to create something similar please share on social media using #unikoltd

Stay safe and keep crafting!

BA Inspiration - Stitched Stunning Snowflake die

Hello friends, Rahmat here with an inspiration using the stunning snowflake die cut.

I wanted to do some stitching with this die cut, so here it is:

I have used dual toned  blue embroidery floss for the stitching here.
I did add some big and small size sequins to the corners of the snowflake to add some sparkle, along with a few jewels.
The sentiment is from the recently released build a tree set. the sentiment strip is framed with a blue glitter strip

The base card is prepped with a silver holographic sequin foil.

A close up at the shimmer of the foil

I  hope you like the inspiration from me today.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind feedback. Have a great day!
