CAS Colours & Sketches #301 - Seasonal Colours

Hello December!

The countdown to Christmas has begun and over at CAS Colours & Sketches the Design Team are getting into the festive spirit too. This week the challenge HERE is to choose a colour combo from 2018 and make it seasonal.

I chose to use the colours from challenge #264 seen HERE and below...

And here is how I made them festive...

I recently purchased the Tree Shaker die from Pretty Pink Posh and I couldn't wait to get using it! I decided to make a non shaker card and combine it with Background Builders Christmas 2018. I am just loving the Christmas fairy light trend and can't stop using this stamp either ;)

I stamped it on a white mat layer in VersaFine Onyx Black ink, used my Stampin' Up! markers in the colours I chose to colour the bulbs and then added some White Blizzard Glitter Nuvo Drops, another favourite!

The tree is adhered to the card using foam adhesive and then the panel adhered to the card using foam adhesive too.

This is my second to last Design Team post for CAS Colours & Sketches, as I took the decision to step down once we had finished the challenges for 2018 :( I am sad to be leaving, as it has been fun. But my time is needed in other areas of Uniko ;)

Anyway, there is more inspiration from the CC&S Design Team over HERE. Be sure to check out which colour combo they've all chosen to make seasonal :) I look forward to seeing you in the gallery and happy festive CAS card making!

Introducing... Background Blocks Falling Snowflakes

YAY!

I'm SO happy that you have stopped by today, as here at Uniko preparations for the October 2017 product release are well underway. We have had all the sneak peeks and we are now onto day 3 of the product introductions. You can catch up HERE and HERE with day 1 and 2.

Today the Design Team and I are introducing the next stamp in the Background Blocks series, called Falling  Snowflakes.

How about a little festive scene to show off these falling snowflakes...

I love white embossing on kraft card and it seemed the perfect opportunity when I was putting this little scene together. I've combined a couple of previously released Uniko clear stamp sets on this card. Firstly the tree and little bird is from Rustic Christmas and the sentiment is from Most Wonderful

That's all from me here, but be sure to hop along all the Design Team blogs and leave a comment along the way, as you never know you might just win a random prize! I know for sure that you won't be disappointed the Design Team have created a bountiful wealth of inspiration :)

CAS Colours & Sketches #203

Hey & Welcome to the last CC&S Challenge of 2016!

This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches we are just having challenges for the first two weeks of December. We are looking back at all the challenges of 2016, choosing one and making it FESTIVE. THIS week we would like you to look at the 2016 Sketch Challenge Archive and choose a sketch and use it to make a festive card.

I decided upon Challenge #179 from June...

You can check HERE to see how I used them last time, this is what I came up with this time and I have rotated my base card to fit the taller panel for the tree...

I've this idea using the recently released Uniko Christmas Pop clear stamp set since before I released it and I needed to find my *very* old Doodlebug mini flocking jars! I've had these for an age and I don't think I have ever used them :( They are a little awkward but I love the bright colours, slight dimension and texture they give to the tree.

I heat embossed the outline tree and decorative lines in Stampin' Up! Black Embossing powder before adding the flock using my Quickie Glue pen. The sentiment is from Simply Said II and the ribbon is Papertrey Ink.

Ok, that's all from me for now, I hope I have inspired you to give the challenge a go and join in this week. Be sure to stop on over HERE and check out what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT have done using the colours and I hope to see you in the gallery.

Thank you for all your visits and joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this year, see you in January with the new CC&S Design Team!

Essentially Christmas £9.95
Copyright Uniko Ltd 2015

As you can see this first set lives up to its name, featuring a collection of 'essential' Christmas images. It contains an array of 'building' images and mix & match sentiments. It is sure to be a worthwhile set to add to you collection! The Christmas tree and the holly stamps coordinate with the previously released Background Builders: Christmas too for even more possibilities!

I LOVE Coffee £4.95

Jingle Bells £9.95

Labelled Christmas £9.95
Copyright Uniko Ltd 2015

Now I have done all the formal introductions, how about a couple of cards showcasing these new sets.

First up I decided to use Jingle Bells to create this fairly CAS design. I started by masking a square on my white CS mat layer to stamp the larger of the two small bells in Encore Silver ink. The two solid larger bells are stamped also in Encore Silver ink but also heat embossed with stardust embossing powder for that extra sparkle.

The 'Jingle' sentiment is stamped in VersFine Onyx Black, fussy cut out, lightly brushed with Wink Of Stella & mounted using foam adhesive.

For my next card I couldn't resist using the 'Let it Snow' label from Labelled Christmas & paring it with my favourite snowflake from Stunning Snowflakes!

I opted for a favourite style layout for my card using a angled mat layer stamped with silver snowflakes. I also dusted off my Snowflake dies to mat the label with a silver sparkly snowflake :) So much sparkle & snowflakes makes me happy!

The colours of both my cards were inspired by the current The Paper Players challenge seen HERE and below, which this time is a colour challenge.

That's all from me, but as tradition holds we have our release day blog hop, todays hop is a mini hop as only the UK DT have their goodies. Simply visit & comment along the hop by midnight Wednesday 25th November, to be in the chance of winning an £15 eGift Certificate!

Introducing... Essentially Christmas

Hey!

I am SO happy you have stopped by today, here at Uniko I am in full swing with the November Release & today is the start of the product introductions :) It's just me today as the DT are waiting on their goodies to arrive, but hopefully I will inspire you & show you 'some' of the MANY possibilities this set has with the trio of cards I have made.

First up a 'Merry Kissmas' card...

Knowing I was using the mistletoe image & little solid bow from the set, I dusted off my Sizzix heart framelits dies, selecting one that the mistletoe would fit comfortably inside. The heart was die cut from the SU! Old Olive CS & temporarily adhered to the white card base so that I could stamp the mistletoe central.

Before adhering the die cut layer to the card with foam adhesive I stamped the sentiment from set, which is two separate stamps & added a little red dome heart. I added a little colour to the leaves of the mistletoe & glitter to the berries before adhering the fussy cut mini solid bow.

Next I decided to use the Christmas tree stamps...

I am LOVING the current Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below & I couldn't resist using it AGAIN - sorry!

As you can see the Christmas tree from Essentially Christmas is a large version (3.5 x 4cm) of the Christmas tree from the previously released Background Builders: Christmas. When designing my sets I really like to make them versatile, but at the same time I like them to coordinate with previously released products to breathe new life into them.

I've also mixed & matched the sentiment using 'Have a' from Essentially Christmas & 'Merry Christmas' from Simply Said Christmas.

My last card for today uses the holly leaves & berries from the set, which are all individual stamps...

I just used all the individual holly leaves & berries to create my pattern on the base card adding glitter to the outline leaves as I just can't resist using it on 'nearly' every Christmas card I make!

That's all I have for today, but I will be back tomorrow with my next introduction. I have outlined the release schedule as a little reminder...

Sneak Peeks 5th & 6th November. These little teasers give you hints at what is in store!

Introducing... 7th - 10th November. Here you'll get to see the soon to be released products in action.

Release Day! Thursday 11th November you will get to see all the products in their entirety and purchase them HERE on the website! As tradition holds there will be a mini Design Team Blog Hop with a chance for a lucky person to win an eGift Certificate.

AND as the DT in the US are late getting their release goodies, we have organised an extra blog hop & prizes of course...

Countdown to Christmas Blog Hop! Saturday 28th November is the official DT Blog Hop showcasing the release & of course prizes up for grabs!

Hope to see you tomorrow for more & thank you for stopping by today :)

TIME OUT Challenges - CASE with your own twist

Hey!

It's time for the next challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is a CASE challenge, with your own twist. This month we have an awesome muse, Alice from Alice's {Little} Wonderland and this is the FABULOUS creation we are CASEing...

Here's my take...

I was mainly inspired by the layout of Alice's card and also the cute little cactus Alice used, but as I don't own any type of stamp that is or resembles a cactus I opted for my Uniko Rustic Christmas Tree instead. It is kinda prickly, right?

Instead of layering washi tape/papers and fussy cutting out the tree I simply stamp the Grunge Grid from SU! in Crumb Cake ink also from SU! onto my card base, but I stamped it off lightly first so the colour didn't come out too dark. I then over stamped the Rustic tree in Hint of Pesto VersaMagic ink.

I did however fussy cut out a tiny red bird from the same set and just adhered it to the card using double sided tape, but having it cut out just added a bit more dimension than just stamping it onto the card. It also replicates the red flower on Alice's cactus. The sentiment is also from the set and the set will be back in stock this weekend, along with some highly requested sets!

Ok, that's all from me today, but there is much more inspiration over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Rema, be sure to stop by Rema's Blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back soon with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.
