PEACE * LOVE * JOY

Hey!

I'm back on schedule today with another card using the dove from Peace On Earth. This time I have paired it with a sentiment from Pure Florals: Poinsettia...

I used a couple of challenges to boost my creativity starting with the current retro sketches layout seen HERE and below. I also decided to use the dove again one because I've not given it much LOVE but also because of the current 'Less is More' challenge HERE which is Christmas cards & to use a bird.

I started out by stamping the sentiment repeatedly along panel of white card stock using VersaMagic Turquoise Gem, I then divided the panel into 3 sections measuring 4 x 6 cm.

The dove was left over from yesterdays card HERE and I've adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. The card was a little empty just with the dove so I decided to add a sparkly punched heart and a few rhinestones too.

I'm super HAPPY to see so many wonderful entries into our current challenge HERE. If you don't have any Uniko Studio Christmas themed stamps or products there are a few freebies HERE on the website you can use.

That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by :)

A Wonderful Washi Christmas!

Hey!

I just LOVE it when you come across a challenge that is just perfect for a particular stamp set and that is just the case with the current Retro Sketches sketch seen HERE and below...

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that Wonderful Washi Christmas had to be inked up & used! Apologies to those who are not yet in Christmas mode, I seemed to have got a lot of Christmas spirit at the moment & seem to have missed out Autumn! However, I have a few Autumnal projects I'd like to create which I will share soon.

Anyway, back to the card in question! I decided to make my own Washi tape using tissue paper & wide double sided tape. I also decided to make my homemade tape sparkly, so I stamped & heat embossed it before adding the double sided tape to the reverse. It does wrinkle the tissue paper slightly, but I think that adds to the effect of creating your own Washi tape.

Well this week seems to have got of to a much better start than last week, which isn't hard, but hopefully it's a sign that I am getting back into a routine of normality!

That's all from me today, I'm dusting off the sketchbook today to design some loveliness! I'll be back tomorrow though with more to share :) until then thank you for stopping by today.

Feeling Retro

Hey!

Happy Wednesday. I can't believe we're half way through the week already, time is going way too fast & I've still much to organise in the studio before we go away.

Luckily, I have Abbie in the studio today to help me out & you will also be glad to know that even though I will be away for 3 weeks, yep THREE weeks the Uniko Studio shop will still be open & orders will still be mailed out, as Abbie has kindly taken up the job of looking after things whilst I'm away.

Ok, back to todays card...

I decided to go a little retro for this card, firstly by using the current Retro Sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card and also with the colour combo of Kraft, Red & White. Pairing that with the graphic flower from time, I thought it gave off a retro vibe?

What do you think? It was another of those cards that came together just how I had envisioned it in my mind. I saw the sketch, knew the supplies I wanted to use & set about creating!

I started out with a Kraft mat layer trimmed to size & piece of red CS trimmed to size to die cut my large graphic flower slightly off at the lower right as seen in the sketch. I then temporarily adhered my red die cut piece to the kraft layer so that I could stamp & emboss the graphic flower in the right position.

I then stamped the sentiment also from Time, wrapped some bakers twine round the layer and adhered it to my card base using foam adhesive. Before I adhered the red die cut piece to the card I used a white gel pen to add some faux stitching & also adhered it to the card using foam adhesive. A red button added the final detailing to the flower.

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by today :)

Thinking Of You...

Hey!

It seems ages since I last posted here on the blog, I know I popped in briefly with a card for the NEW Uniko Studio Challenge HERE, but I have been lacking in mojo to create. I'm super grateful for my FABulous DT have kept things going for me here on the blog. Thanks to Amber's post HERE and Gayatri's post HERE.

Anyway, I finally found a little mojo to create this card...

I managed to squeeze 3 challenges into this CAS Thinking Of You card! I wanted to let you the readers know that whatever I may be up to, I am always thinking of you all :)

The 3 challenges I used were the current Retro Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The current Play Date Cafe challenge colours seen HERE and below and the current Addicted to CAS challenge HERE which is Glitter!

I hope I have inspired you a little today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share. It's all a buzz here in the UK as we wait for the exciting news of the arrival of the Royal Baby, AND I am beyond excited for my upcoming holiday & WEDDING! It's only 39 days now till we fly to the USA and if I'm like this now, I dread to think how I will be nearer the time! Haha!

Until tomorrow, thanks for stopping by :)

'Q' Retro Flower!

Hey!

I've a kinda retro floral card to share with you all today...

I created this card using a combination of two challenges. I started out with the current Retro Sketch seen HERE and below and used the new ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below and I'm super pleased with the result!

I also combined the 2 Flower Power clear stamp sets available HERE at Uniko Studio. These 2 sets go together like bread & butter! There are SO many mix and match options just with these 2 mini stamp sets.

I just love the over stamped flower which creates a feeling of a light & fluffy bloom. With not adding a sentiment make this card perfect for any occasion and the cheery bright colours certainly brightens up a miserable UK Summer day!

That's all I have to share for today, be sure to stop by tomorrow as we've a guest blogger - YAY! It's so much fun having company in the studio :)

Thanks for stopping by.

In T Minus 50 minutes it'll be my birthday and the end of my 33rd year! I already know that my 34th year is going to be a FANTASTIC one with my Wedding Day in Hawaii & FABulous trip around the west coast of the USA planned :)

Today has been a super busy one in the studio but I managed to squeeze in a little crafting time to make todays card...

Continuing with this months revisited set Pure Florals: Gerbera I decided to ink it up again & paired it with the clocking in card from Extra Time & a sentiment from Time. I've had this card idea in my head since Saturday night when I saw the current retrosketches sketch seen HERE and below...

I also played along with the current Dynamic Duos Anniversary challenge HERE and decided to pick this colour combo to use...

With Sympathy

Hey!

Luckily I haven't had to make many sympathy cards and it's not a type of card that I find easy to make. When I was designing Flower Power #1 I decided that the sentiments theme in the set would be thoughtful & caring and so I added 'With Sympathy'. This sentiment had yet to be inked so I decided to challenge myself and make a sympathy card...

I found the current retro sketch that I used yesterday which can be seen HERE and below really easy to use and great for making a simple CAS card so I used it again.

This time I used Kraft CS to soften the sketch and decided on simple white embossing. I used the sentiment and stem from Flower Power #1 and the smallest graphic flower from Time.

Looking back I wished I had rounded the corners of the focal panel and base card to soften the feel of the card even more.

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with another project to share with you all. I hope you all have a lovely day :)

Sequin Butterflies!

Hey!

I'm back on schedule this week, thanks to the sunshine yesterday I managed to work through a list of jobs and create a few cards to share with you all :)

Todays card features sequins, a popular trend in the crafting community and I've finally got some and joined the party...

When I went to buy some from a local department store they had SO many different colours to chose from which makes things hard. I opted finally for a mixed rainbow assortment bag :) which is perfect to create rainbow sequin butterflies! It also works perfectly for the current Addicted to CAS challenge HERE, the code word being Rainbow.

I used the current retro sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card. I really let the sequin butterfly take centre stage keeping the sentiment & ribbon simple and opting for a white base card.  Such a versatile sketch that I have another card using it to share with you all tomorrow!

I love the sparkle of the sequins, so pretty :)

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with another project to share with you all. I hope you all have a lovely day :)

Hugs

Hey!

Sorry to have left you all hanging yesterday with no post, things got a little busy round here and I was at The Paper Lane demoing the NEW Uniko Studio products available HERE and then I was teaching a class in the afternoon, which was so much fun!

New class dates are booked too, for more info or to book email Caz; admin@thepaperlane.co.uk

Now, anyone for a hug...?

Caz had some lovely Bo Bunny paper pads in the shop yesterday & I fell in love with the colours and patterns contained in the Isabella pad, so I treated myself and bought it and couldn't resist using it on a card today!

I made this little 10.5 cm square card using the current retro sketches sketch seen HERE and below. I moved the focal point off centre though for my card & also stamped the sentiment up the side of the banners.

I've had SU! Hearts A Flutter dies for a while now & immediately thought to use them when I saw the sketch...

I used a partial sentiment from Flower Power #1 and one of the BRIGHT Butterflies Designer Dies, double layered using another patterned paper contained in the Bo Bunny Isabella pack.

I spent this morning catching up on a few jobs and looking around blogland and came across this beauty from Gillian...

Gillian has been playing with her NEW Uniko Studio goodies and made this beauty. Doesn't the Chrysanthemum look stunning embossed in white? Be sure to check out Gillian's blog Made With Sparkle, there is tones of inspiration.

That's all from me today, thank you for stopping by.

Calming Colours...

Hey!

How about some calming colours to soothe the Monday chaos?!

I was in need of something to calm me & relax me after the Monday I've had! I knew there was a reason I wanted to stay in bed this morning! It all started as soon as I went to have a bath, yep the boiler has decided to go on the blink again so no hot water & no heating.

I'm glad to have a nice oil heater in the studio so after boiling kettles to have a wash off to the studio I went & have been all day, making ... phone calls to plumbers & heating specialists!

So, this evening I've had tea & relaxed a little it was time to be calmed & soothed by inking a few stamps to make this card...

I started off by using the current retro sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card and also used the current Less Is More challenge for my colour scheme HERE and seen below.

I matched the colours as best I could & tried not to drool on the desk as I looked at the yummy donuts!

I already had Pure Florals: Gerbera out on the desk from yesterdays card & decided to ink it up again & paired it with a small sentiment from Label Love: Birthday.

Now I'm off to take some of the stress of the day out in the gym & mainly go so I can get a hot shower! Lol! There is method in my madness!

Hope you've all had a good Monday & I'll back tomorrow with less life woes & more projects to share.

Lots happening in the studio this week NEW clear stamps & NEW dies are in the line up for a FABulous April Release & we have a revisited Design Team Blog Hop on the 11th with a chance to win the set featured in the hop.

Thanks for stopping by today!
