Lots of Lovely Restocks AND a WINNER!

 Hello & Happy Thursday!

I hope you are all well, staying warm and safe. It's a chilly one here in the North East of the UK, there are definitely signs of Autumn in the air. Only ONE more week before The Beans head back to school, unfortunately on their 7th Birthday! Can you believe that, SEVEN?!

I'm a total mix of emotions, my babies growing up SO fast, the end of Summer and lots of fun days out, but then I am looking forward to gaining some of my time and day back to be in The Studio! I have more NEWNESS coming in September - yay!

So, incase you missed it on social media or via the newsletter, there is still time to take advantage of this...

With the newness coming I have also received a few festive restocks this week that have now been added to the website. This includes, the popular Christmas Wishes from last year. Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas, Background Blocks Horizontal Stripe, Season Of Beauty and our ever popular Winter Foliage

Now before I go today, I have the WINNER of the July 2021 Release Revisited Brand Ambassador Blog Hop HERE. Thank you to everyone again who took the time to hop along and leave such lovely comments.

Without further ado, the lucky comment selected randomly is...

Fabulous design and I like the corner positioning and zingy colours. Clever!

Congratulations Carole!

You have won a £20 eGift Certificate to spend in store. Please email me by Saturday Sept 11th 2021 at bev@uniko.co.uk to claim your prize.

That's all I have to share today, but as I am Bean Free today thanks to Grandparents taking them out for an early birthday treat - yay! I now have some time to create some of the ideas that have been building up in my head.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Christmas in August

Hello

It's Wiebke here with a new Brand Ambassador Inspiration for you!
Time for "Christmas in August"!

I don't know, how other countries govern the selling of all the sweet Christmas goodies like cookies and chocolate-stuff.... Here in Germany the supermarkets and grocery stores start to sell all these things usua at the end of August (but my family is not one of the first who needs to buy them!).

So, only a few days left until the christmas mood may start for some people!
I have a new Christmas inspiration for you, thereby you can join into the feeling too but without sweets and calories 😉!

I stamped the sentiment of the Festive Sentiments Outlined Set in a dark blue colour and covered the letters with a clear sparkling pencil.
The Designer Die Sparkling Snowflake I cut out of a colour fitting dark blue cardstock and covered it with sparkle too.

Another close-up of the sparkling sentiment.

I adhered the snowflake to the cardbase and embellished it with light blue rhinestone stickers. The bigger stickers in the inner circle fit in there perfectly.

A close-up of the dimensional embellishments.

Snowflakes and sparkle are always a great combination!
There are so many possibilities to add glitter and shimmer to the icy beauties. - This time we used a Wink of Stella brush and the rhinestones.

Next time maybe glitter glue, metallic foil, embossing powder, sequins or glitter flakes....
Which sparkling element is your favorite one?
When you check out all the possibilities, your christmas card production will be done in a very short time!

Hope I was able to inspire you a bit and make you starting early enough this year to be prepared and have a stress-free pre-christmas time!

Crafty greetings from Wiebke

Mixed Media Monday - Alumni Brand Ambassador Lindsey Bowe

 Hello & Happy Monday!

Today I am back with another Mixed Media Monday and I am delighted to have our Alumni Brand Ambassador Lindsey Bowe joining us again. If you missed Lindsey's first projects, be sure to hop on over HERE.

Lindsey Bowe

Hello everyone, I am delighted to be back today to share a Journal Page with you.

On watercolour paper (requisite sorry - ordinary card will warp!) I painted several squares, letting the colours run a little, added some paint splatters & sprinkled over table salt in a couple of areas.

To finish the project off, I added some machine stitching and iridescent sequins. For my focal point, I chose a couple of blooms from the « Beautiful » stamp set.  These were stamped on tissue paper stuck onto card to make them more manageable.

I shaded around the bottom RHS of the flowers with a soft graphite pencil to make them more grounded - no need to shade around the whole shape just think of where 5 is on a clock face!

If you want a hint with your final composition, remember the rule of thirds and triangle placement. The flowers were placed in the bottom RHS third where the eye is automatically drawn to and my sequins were placed in a triangle to encourage the eye to move around the finished piece.

Try positioning your pieces in different areas on a project & hopefully you’ll see what I mean. You need to entice the eyes to keep moving around your project and you can manipulate this with strategic placement of your focal piece and embellishments!

I hope you have enjoyed todays feature and a big THANK YOU to Lindsey for inspiring us all.
