October 2015 Design Team Blog Hop, GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is the October 2015 Design Team Blog Hop. Along with the hop and GIVEAWAY! So be sure to grab a drink, get comfy, relax and enjoy!

As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on! Here at Uniko I *USUALLY* only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month.

The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 13  month old twin boys! So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well...just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month as we are approaching Christmas I decided to dust off the previously released Pure Florals: Poinsettia...

As you can see this set features a reasonable sized Poinsettia and an array of mix and match Christmas themed sentiments.

As always I like to share a couple of my 'old faves' using the sets...

And here is a new project featuring the set...

My card today was inspired by the current CAS - Colours & Sketches sketch challenge seen HERE and below.

As you can see I decided upon a different colour than the usual reds for my poinsettia, opting for magenta and a light pink. I also turned to my trusty Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to blend them. I was thinking back and I started using these way back in 2008 when I first came across the awesome Jennifer McGuire when she worked with Hero Arts!

Anyway, after colouring my partial stamped poinsettia on the tag I layered it up with a plain tag, added some white ribbon tied on with gold embroidery floss and finished it with some more gold embroidery floss swirled underneath. The sentiment is a partial stamped sentiment from the set.

Now, I do have some more cards to share using this set, but I am saving them to share with you this coming week on the Uniko Website Blog HERE. I am starting a new weekly feature over there called 'Stamp of the Week'

Each week I will have a series of blog posts featuring the 'Stamp of the Week' and fingers crossed videos in the future too!! Along with this, the 'featured' stamp set will be available on the website for a discounted price for that week only.

I do hope you will join me over there this week ;) Anyway, enough chatter, how about some more inspiration from the awesome DT.

AND don't forget the GIVEAWAY... Simply comment along the hop by midnight Sunday 18th October (BST) for your chance to win the featured set or a eGift Certificate code to the same value if you already own them...
