Polka Dots & Snowflakes!

Hey!

Do you ever have those days where every idea you try to create doesn't turn out the way you wanted it to? Well, I do and today is one of those days! Hence the lateness of my post today. I had a few ideas in my head, 2 failed attempts later this is the result...

I'm still not 100% happy with it but it's all the creative mojo I have today! I've combined a few sets on this card which is possibly the problem, all the supplies I've used are listed below.

Short & sweet from me today as I've a few tasks to complete before I spend an evening with a bestie in York. Be sure to stop by tomorrow as you'll be in for a TREAT & no tricks I promise!

Pearlescent Snowflakes!

Hey!

I'm back today with another snowflake card, this time I have given them a pearlescent treatment with some perfect pearls...

It's been a while since I 'dusted' the perfect pearls and so I decided to put them to use on a simple snowflake card! I only have 2 colours of pearls, gold & orchid a lovely soft lilac colour. I started out by choosing my sentiment & 3 favourite snowflakes from the set & stamping them in versa mark ink onto some black card. 

Then using a soft paint brush I brushed over the sentiment & smaller snowflakes with the gold perfect pearls & then used the orchid colour over the remainder of the snowflakes. Once I was happy I used a dry baby wipe to wipe off the excess, which also adds a lovely shimmer to the non stamped areas on the card. I also added a few rhinestones to the large & medium snowflakes for a little extra bling - you can never have too much!

Snowflakes & Flourishes!

Happy Monday, I do hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was a fabulous one here in the studio with the October Release, if you missed it you can still catch up on all the fun HERE and there is still time to comment along the hop & be in the chance of winning the entire release.

Ok, so the Stunning Snowflakes are back (sorry), I don't think they've made it back onto the shelf yet!

This time I paired them with FONTiment Fancies - Swirls & Flourishes and I think they go together perfectly. 

I saw the current colours over on Dynamic Duos HERE and seen below and thought I'd use them of my card. Purple is not a colour I reach for often, but when I do I really like the results.

Christmas + Chalkboard = LOVE

I'm back today to share my version of a Christmas chalkboard inspired card...

Chalkboard is a trend thats been popping up in blog land for a while and I've been wanting to jump on the band wagon have a go! I was also inspired by Taheerah's card HERE which she shared during the countdown to release.

On my card I have used ALL five of the stamp sets released yesterday. I was a little unhappy with the lines to separate each section as my white gel pen decided it wasn't going to play nice and so I used a white pencil instead. This didn't give as sharp a white like the embossing powder has but when I used my finger to rub a little white pigment ink over the whole piece and also swiped the edges along the ink pad to frame it the design the muted white lines work a little better.

Introducing... Jolly Christmas

Hey & Happy Friday!

Today is the last product introduction which is FABulous news as it means tomorrow you will get to see all the NEW products in full and also purchase them HERE on the website! 

Lets get to it...

Jolly Christmas is a modern folk inspired Christmas set featuring this cute santa. I like cute but don't normally draw cute but I found my inner cute side and this was the result! 

For my next card I used the second main image contained in the set which is a modern folk inspired Christmas tree...

I decided to use the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card. 

I rotated the sketch 90 degrees so that the panels would work with my chosen image. The tree, heart & sentiment are stamped & embossed in gold. I added some faux gold stitching to the panels of coloured card stock and also the card base to reciprocate the stitching on the tree.

That's all from me today, but I know that some of the team have whipped up some awesomely fabulous projects too using this set...

Introducing... Peace On Earth

Hey!

It seems as though I am not the only one who LOVES snowflakes from the comments and response to yesterdays introduction! I'm back today with another product introduction that reflects the peaceful side of the holiday season...

A modern, graphic yet elegant dove is the main feature of this set, I kept things really simple & easily mass producible with this first card. I simply stamped the dove & sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink. A simple branch stamped in green & a good dose of glitter to the dove finished the card off nicely. 

My next card pairs todays set with the Stunning Snowflakes set which was introduced HERE yesterday.

The snowflakes are stamped & embossed with White Cosmic Shimmer EP onto Baja Breeze CS,  this  provided the perfect back drop for a gold embossed dove on a strip of vellum.

Introducing... Designer Dies Snowflakes & Stunning Snowflakes

Hey!

Are you liking the introductions so far? I sure am, I haven't seen any of the DT projects so I'm  excited for each introduction to see what they've created! 

Today, I get to introduce two of my favourite products of this release, Designer Dies Snowflakes & Stunning Snowflakes clear stamp set. I'm a sucker for snowflakes, so be warned now you WILL be seeing A LOT of snowflakes here on the blog! 

Lets get to the cards...

My first couple of cards I'm sharing today are inspired by the current CASology challenge HERE, the code word is COUNTRY. 

I decided to create a CAS country rustic feel on my cards by using Kraft  & Cream card stock mixed with some linen thread.

I started out by stamping the snowflake strip from Background Builders: Christmas in Vintage Cream ink & the sentiment from Peace On Earth (more on this later in the week) in Chocolate Chip ink. I then wrapped some linen thread around the layer and created a loopy bow of thread to place behind the die cut snowflake.

This first card then led onto this next card...

This time I switched the card stock colours around and layered the medium & small die cut snowflakes. The sentiment is also from Peace On Earth, which you will get a closer look at later in the week.

Now, I'm changing gears colour wise to share a couple of cards using Stunning Snowflakes...

This first card is a one layer card, perfect for mailing out and it didn't take too long to create. The most time consuming part was stamping the snowflake background. I didn't time myself but this card didn't take me more than 10 minutes to make.

My next card was also a super quick card to create...

The snowflakes are stamped in Turquoise Gem & Red Magic VersaMagic ink which Caz has in stock at The Paperlane, it stamps beautifully.
