Uniko Birthday Inspiration Through The Years - Part 3

Happy Friday.

Welcome to day 7 of the Uniko 13th Birthday Celebrations and part 3 of my Inspiration Through The Years. If you missed part 1 and part 2 you can catch up HERE and HERE.

Today I am sharing three cards using a product from 2018, 2019 and 2020. I've then made a new card inspired by the original.

Let's have a look.

First up is Kindness Blooms, which released in February 2018. I remember making this card and I loved creating the polka dot background and the fussy partial cutting.

So for my updated card I decided to do something similar.

I started by stamping the trio of large loopy blooms along the edge of my card, once the ink was dry I cut along to create this fun edge.

I then set to using the small circle/dot stamp to create the multicoloured polka dot background on my base card. The loopy flower layer is adhered using foam tape.

My sentiment choice is from Birthday Sentiments, which was released the same month. I think I love this fresh take on my original card.

Next up is 2019 and the year Uniko's most popular, ever growing and still highly sort after collection was released, the one and only Mid Century Modern Collection.

Two of the first 4 products released in May 2019 were Mid Century Modern Florals and Background Blocks Mid Century Modern, which I decided upon to use on my card today.

I don't think I will ever tire using this collection! There are so many creative options and colour combinations. I started by using the Mid Century Modern background, stamping it in Pebble ink.

I then added some 'flowers' stamped in Harbor, Honeysuckle, Sorbet, Buttercup and Sprout. My sentiment is from Birthday Wishes which also debuted in the same release.

Lastly for today is another super popular collection that was released in February 2020, my take on Art Deco.

This collection features Anniversarie Arts Decoratifs, Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs and Background Builders Arts Decoratifs. Since this original release I have added a Christmas version of the background block and I am always thinking of more to add!

Here's how I used the collection today...

I went for the clean and simple look today, using 3 of the background builder patterns to create a focal point. I then added some colour and a sentiment from the collection. A little bit of bling finished my card off.

I know the Background Builders is currently out of stock, it'll be back soon!

That's all from me today. I hope that you have enjoyed the inspiration today and this little look back at Uniko's past. I will have more to share in this mini series throughout the month.

12 Days Of Christmas Inspiration & Giveaways - Day 12 Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs

Hello & Happy Thursday.

Welcome to the final day of Uniko's 12 Days of Christmas Inspiration and Giveaways Day 12. These 12 days have flown by and I hope you have enjoyed the festive fun as much as I have 😃

The hardest part for me has been choosing the products to showcase! It surprises me how many festive products I have designed and released. Though, I have also used non festive products to help you stretch your supplies.

Today I went for a non festive product, along with its festive counterpart. Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs and Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas

The look I was aiming for was a stained glass window. I originally planned to add lots of clear gloss Nuvo Drops to the stamped and coloured Art Decoratifs background, but I chickened out in case it went wrong!

I created a die cut window using a rounded tag die and adhered the panel using foam tape. I then accented with the Christmas tree from Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs Christmas. I finished with sparkly rhinestones and a sentiment from Christmas Sentiments

As usual I have a video over on Uniko's YouTube Channel using the products and another fun version of this card layout. I'd love you to watch HERE.

Today's prize is the two background blocks featured and as always if the winner already owns these, an alternative will be offered. Winners will be announced tomorrow, here on the blog.

Thank you for joining me for this fun series, for all the comments love and support across Uniko's social media. AND of course your continued custom at Uniko. I truly appreciate you all.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Watercolour Emboss Resist

Morning all,

Steph here today with some watercolour emboss resist which I was inspired to do following this lovely example by Anita. I started off with the Uniko Background Builders Arts Decoratifs stamp set and repeatedly heat emboss one line of the set in white. I then used metallic watercolours to create a wash across the card in various colours.

For my next card I heat embossed the Uniko Large Background: Scattered Polka Hearts stamp in white and did an ombre wash using four different blue inks. I white heat embossed one of the hearts from Uniko Always & Forever set, ink washed and fussy cut before adhering to the background with foam pads.

Finally, I remembered this fantastic card from Jules and was inspired to try the resist embossing with the Uniko Remembrance stamp set.

I definitely need to work on my watercolour skills so that's on the list for this year!

Much love

Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023 - Number 8

Happy Christmas Eve!

Are you all set for 🎅🏻 I think we are almost sorted. Today is also my father in laws birthday, so it is celebrations all round. Anyway, I'm back today with Uniko's Customer Top 10 of 2023 - Number 8. If you missed what it's all about, then check my post HERE.

Today we head to the 1920's Art Deco era with Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs being the 8th most purchased clear stamp in 2023.

This Background Block made its debut in February 2020 with a Christmas version being added to the collection in July of this year. The Art Deco style remains a popular trend with its beautiful geometric lines lending themselves wonderfully to masculine makes.

Today I decided to put a floral spin on this block and paired it with an all time favourite flower, Pure Florals Gerbera.

I usually like to add colour to the block, but today I decided to keep it black and white. I stamped the block and then decided to change the size of my card, so I simply trimmed the block out and adhered it to my 12.5 cm square card panel.

For a quick colour option I used the solid bloom from Pure Florals Gerbera and used a dauber to blend the colours from Buttercup, Sorbet in the centre to Honeysuckle and Dragonfruit to the flower petals.

This series is a good opportunity for me to make a start on my birthday cards for 2024, so I chose the Happy Birthday sentiment from Simply Said.

Thank you for stopping by & enjoy the inspiration during this often busy period. Remember it's okay to take time for you. I have certainly enjoyed the small crafty break away from the chaos and over excitement there is in the house today!
