Still time to join in @ TIME OUT Challenges!

Hey!

There is still time to join in on the challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges. This fortnight is Home Sweet Home with a interiors photo to spark your inspiration...

This is how I was inspired by the photo...

Again I was inspired by the floral wall paper and the bold black bedside units. On today's card I have given you a HUGE sneak preview of a soon to be released stamp set HERE at Uniko Studio! I'll be back in 2 hours on the blog with the 'official' Sneak Peek of this set ;)

When I was thinking of a reminder card & design I just couldn't help myself, the stamps were on my desk from making samples and cards for my class at The Paperlane on Saturday and they just worked perfectly!

Anyway, this fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Joyce, be sure to stop by Joyce's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :)

I'll be back again soon with a Sneak Peek, I do hope you will stop by again ;)

A Stamp Set A Day - A Gift For You

Hey!

Thanks for stopping by today, yesterday HERE I explained about a little blog feature during my absence to give birth to my two bundles of joy and settle into a routine once we are home.

The feature being 'A Stamp Set A Day'. I'm amazed at how many stamp sets I have designed and launched since Uniko Studio began back in February 2012 and sometimes sets can get neglected and unloved when new ones come out. So the basis of the feature is to give each set some new love! I have tried to keep the set the focus of the card/s but as you will see I have paired them with other Uniko Studio sets as they were designed that way :)

Today's featured set is A Gift For You...

It's a set I often reach for, but mainly for the sentiments! So I challenged myself to make a collection of cards and this is what I came up with...

I started out with a card this set was designed for, birthdays and I used only the set to create the card. The colour scheme is one WAY out of my comfort zone, but I think it's quite cheery :) Below is a close up of the gift and the added sparkle I added with glitter. The gift ribbon and polka dots are perfect for adding glitter and sparkle!

Next up is a male orientated card...

Again an unusual for me colour scheme, but it is fresh and zingy! This time I paired the gift with the polaroid frame from Strike a Pose! which I fussy cut out and mounted using foam adhesive. This time I added sparkle to the gift using the turquoise At You Spica Pen and stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner.

Next I have two versions of an almost one layer card...

Another colourful and cheery card with lots of glitter! I say almost one layer card because the bow is stamped onto a separate piece of CS and fussy cut out and adhered to the card...

The second version of this card shows how this set can be used for other occasions and not just birthdays...

By simply changing the colours and sentiment to suit the occasion I created an almost one layer Christmas card.

That's all the cards I have to share with you today using this set, I hope it has given you some inspiration to revisit the set if you own it or revisit a set you have in your stash that is similar :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share and another A Stamp Set A Day post. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

Geometric LOVE

Hey & Happy Friday!

Well, I really don't know where this week has gone, it really has flown by and I can't believe I've only two more days to go before I meet the little bundles! I've certainly been making the most of the 'free' time lazing round the house, napping and watching TV shows while I can!

I've also spent time in the studio making cards, like the one I have to share with you all today...

Again I was inspired by two challenges, firstly the Geometric challenge over at Addicted to CAS HERE and the sketch over at "Less is More" HERE

As you can see I took a very loose interpretation of the sketch and I'm rather liking it! Whenever I'm stuck for a colour combo I always reach for these 3 colours, they make me happy :)

Ok, I'm off to enjoy some more time in the studio creating :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Birthday Bear!

Hey!

I like that it's Wednesday already, one more day closer to a long weekend with my husband and more more day closer to 'Baby Beans Day'!

Today I have a Birthday Bear card to share with you...

I've been playing along with some challenges again, the first one is "Less is More", the theme HERE being ANIMAL. The second is a new to me challenge called AAA, a regular customer of Uniko Studio, Jane is on the Design Team and the challenge this week is to CAS(E) her card seen HERE and below.

I used a similar layout & colours to Jane's card but decided to put the little bear inside a negative die cut and make the red the main colour.

I replicated the gingham/spots pattern on the red areas of Jane's card by stamping a background using Background Builders: Squared. Today I am pleased with how my card has turned out!

Today I am spending the day doing what I love most, making more cards to share with you for 'A Stamp Set a Day', which I will be sharing here on the blog when I go in to have the baby beans and for a week or so afterwards. I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Feeling Square!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I was quite productive yesterday in the studio and made a few cards to share here on the blog over the next few days. I knew I wouldn't make it into the studio to create today as weekends seem to be 'get jobs done' time! I mainly supervise & assist as I can't do much else, but I like to be involved!

Anyway, this was one of the cards I made...

I saw the current challenge over at The Card Concept HERE and below and as it used one of my favourite colours - aqua, I had to join in!

It's quite hard to see the lime colour in the photo of my card, but I promise it is there! It's been another gorgeous day here in the NE of England and considering I don't get direct sunlight in the studio it's made my photo super light!

It's been a while since I used Background Builders: Squared, so I gave it some inky love & paired it with my favourite sentiment combo, All Occasion Sentiments #2 and A Gift For You! I also added a little bit of sparkle to alternate squares that were stamped in aqua.

As my card is super CAS, I thought I'd enter it into the new challenge over at "Less is More" HERE this week, which is 'Anything Goes'.

The Uniko Studio SUMMER SALE is still on, grab yourself a bargain HERE before it ends or a set you've been after sells out!!

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Happy Flowers

Hey!

Today started off overcast but the sun came out this afternoon, so that was a nice, especially when we still had the heat but initially no sun! I haven't been feeling overly creative today, mainly because of a little back pain, which thankfully after a relaxation session & a nap has subsided.

I still have a card to share with you all, one which was made for the last class at The Paperlane...

Again it uses the baby wipe technique, I just LOVE the colours and result that this technique produces.

Short & sweet from me today, hopefully I will be feeling a little more creative tomorrow :) Until the next time, thank you for stopping by today.

Baby Wipes?!

Hey!

Sorry for being MIA yesterday, I had a REALLY disturbed night with the 'lil beans. They were going CrAzY all night making me feel sick and I got little sleep. I did get a bit done during the day, but mainly making a dent in the amount of wedding invites to be done for Karl's cousin!

Anyway, they must have worn themselves out and I had a much better night last night, hence lots of card making in the studio :) Mainly cards for the class kits on Saturday at The Paperlane. This will be my last class 'teaching' until October, though I will be supplying kits to Caz for August & September that Caz will teach.

I've had a little play with a new to me technique, baby wipe stamping which I came across HERE. To say that I am impressed is an understatement and I really like the results.

This was my first card using the technique. Don't the flowers look HAPPY & a little psychedelic? All the colours & stamps I've used are listed below in the supplies.

OK, I had better carry on whilst I've some energy & the 'lil beans are fairly quiet! If you want to explore this technique more we will be having a go at it in the classes on Saturday - I'd LOVE you to join me if you're in the area. If not the video I linked to above has all the details!

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow along with the Design Team for a Revisited Blog Hop - I hope you will join in on the FUN :) Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Muse Guest Designer

Hey & Happy Monday!

I'm super happy to kick off this week with the honour of being the muse over at Muse. I was beyond thrilled when Ardyth emailed me a while back to see if I would Guest Design and how could I refuse such an honour and opportunity?!

This is the card I came up with...

The idea of the challenge is as follows:

* Use the Muse card as inspiration, explain your interpretation and link back to the Muse challenge.
* Provide supportive comments to at least 3 of your fellow member's submissions
* Vote for 3 of your fellow member's submissions that you find inspiring.

I used the white wash watercolour technique that I used on THESE cards. I love this technique, though it can be time consuming, but overall relaxing too.

I hope I've inspired you to create and I hope that you'll join in on the challenge over at Muse :)

As this card incorporates a watercolour technique I thought I would enter it into the current "Less is More" challenge HERE, which is all about watercolours this week.

That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Patchwork Squares

Hey!

Sorry for the lateness of my post today, I've had so much to catch up on & I think I am just about there! Anyway, I thought I would share a card that we made at one of the classes on Saturday at The Paperlane...

A super CAS patchwork style card using Background Builders: Squared, Flower Power #1 and a sentiment from A Gift For You. I started out by stamping all of the squares on to a piece of white card. I then trimmed them out leaving a small white border.

For the pink square I masked two of the edges and stamped the outline flower in black ink. I then temporarily adhered the squares to my white mat layer so that I could space them evenly and stamp the sentiment exactly where I wanted it to be. I then adhered some of the squares flat & mounted some with foam adhesive. This was all then adhered to a Melon Mambo card base & the flower finished off with a turquoise rhinestone.

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow though with the rest of the Uniko Studio Design Team for the March Design Team Blog Hop. There are a few announcements tomorrow too & of course a prize up for grabs too! Hope to see you tomorrow, until then, thank you for stopping by today & also thank you for all the congratulations & best wishes for our double bundle of joy!

Birthday Blooms

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has got off to a good start? Things here at Uniko Studio HQ seem to have started well & I'm back (not quite on schedule) with another card to share - YAY!

I was inspired by Taheerah's Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge photo seen HERE and below. As you can see the stripes, flowers & sequins in the photo was what jumped out at me most.

I started out by trimming a piece of white CS 9.5 x 13 cm, I then temporarily adhere the panel to my SU! grid paper stack. I then lined my solid stripe stamp from Background Builders: Squared onto an acrylic block with grid lines on it. I then stamped said stripe in black ink using the grid paper & block to stamp it evenly spaced on the panel. I always start with the lowest line and work upwards. I hope to get a video set up organised, so that I can show you my background stamping process.

Anyway, I hope the explanation has helped a little :) That's all from me today, I can't believe it's nearly time to cook the tea, so I had better crack on and finish a couple of things here in the studio! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Congratulations...you made a card!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I am finally back, it seems like forever since I blogged and sat down to make a card. We've been hit by this horrible head cold going around this week and I wasn't up to much at all. Today, I am feeling much better and now that I have caught up on a few things and the house doesn't look like a bomb site, I've taken some time for 'me' and made a few cards here in the studio.

Ok, so onto the card (apologies for the poor quality photos, one of my light tent bulbs has given up the ghost)...

I decided to make an all occasion Congratulations card. We made one similar in the class at The Paperlane last month (details HERE on the class for March). I changed the colours up a bit and decided to add faux sequin detail stamped in Raspberry Fizz and glittered.

The sequin stamps are from this months release set A Gift For You, which has been surprisingly popular and there are only a few left in store!! I gave the stamped panel a little lift by adhering it to the base card using foam adhesive.

Super quick & CAS to try and kick start my mojo after so long! It's lovely to see some entries into the current Uniko Studio Challenge HERE, I'm going to visit a few blogs and leaves some comments now as I've been bad at that too!!

I hope you are all well & having a lovely weekend, I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then THANK YOU for stopping by today :)

For my next card I decided to use Background Builders: Squared combined with the current Retro Sketches layout seen HERE and below.
