Rainbow Waves & Paw Print Hearts

Happy FriYAY!

It's been another day of show prep in the studio today, but I managed to find some inspiration and time to finish add something to this background I stamped a few days ago.

I've been on a little watercolour kick this past week, working on some cards coming for the April Release at the end of the month.

But I had this idea to do some watercolour waves using the Background Blocks Waves. I started with a panel of watercolour card that I washed with water before putting inside my stamping platform. I then inked the Background Blocks Waves in Poppy, Marmalade, Buttercup, Parsley, Oceanside and Blueberry. Stamping it down onto the card and letting the colours smoosh and bleed into the paper.

I then couldn't decide what to put on the background, but then today I thought of Paw Print Hearts. So I simply used my stamping platform to stamp the heart and sentiment in black ink before adhering the panel to a piece of Honeysuckle card.

Like all sympathy cards they are difficult to make, but good to have on hand for when they are sadly needed.

Right, time to do a bit more prep.

12 Days of Christmas Giveaways - Day 2

Happy Tuesday!

Welcome back to day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas, Giveaways.

If you missed day 1 and you're wondering what this is all about, be sure to check out all the details HERE

So let's get to my card today...

As you can see, it's not all about Christmas over the next 12 days. Today is all about the florals. So much time has passed since I inked up this beauty, Pure Florals Rose

This set is perfect for Valentines, Anniversary, Weddings and more. Today I went for a general love themed card. I used a heart mask and stamped the Background Block Horizontal Stripes to stamp inside. I wanted the heart to be a little more defined, so I drew round the inside of the mask with a fine liner.

The Pure Florals Rose clear stamp set has a two step stamp option which I have used on my card today. I used the smaller full bloom. It's hard to see in the photos, but I have applied some darker red shading to the middle of the rose.

So today's giveaway* is...

To be in the chance of winning simply leave a comment on this post and or any of the social media platforms I will be sharing the giveaway!

CAS Colours & Sketches #257 Timeless Tuesday AKA The Double!

Hey!

I am back THIS week and again as your hostess for the last of the January challenges over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I loved seeing how you were all inspired using last weeks sketch. This week is Timeless Tuesday, AKA The Double!

Here is the sketch and colour combo, remember you need to use both to be considered for the weekly winners at CC&S!

And here is how I was inspired...

I decided to use the heart wreath again from Originally Organic Additions as it was still out on my very messy desk!

I stamped the wreath in Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery ink and I also used my MISTI to stamp it a couple of times to get a good crisp impression. The flowers are stamped using a Costal Cabana marker and I used my closest match to Apricot Appeal which is So Saffron.

I decided to double mount the middle panel for a little bot more interest and also the Costal Cabana strip of card didn't look quite right against the card base. The wreath is fussy cut out and mounted using foam adhesive. I used a rectangle die for the sentiment and fussy cut an individual flower for extra added interest too!

I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by!

CAS Colours & Sketches #211

* This is my 2nd post today, if you have come for the Uniko February & 5th Birthday Introduction of Originally Organic Additions CLICK HERE*

Hey!

This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches, we have the lovely Jane as hostess and as usual Jane has some FAB challenges for us. This week another color challenge HERE and seen below.

We've used Stampin' Up colour names for reference; however, you may use any companies' products for your cards as long as you match our colours as closely as possible. You may also use neutral colours (white, cream, kraft, brown, grey, or black) for card layers, sentiments, and image outlines. However, in order to be considered for our weekly winners, you must not use any other colours.

Don't forget to keep your creation CAS too ;)

This is what I came up with using the colours...

When I saw the colours I knew they were perfect to use for the clear stamp set Originally Organic Additions, which the Uniko Design Team and I are introducing today HERE. So I set to making another card using the colours.

I've opted for a one layer card. I simply stamped the heart wreath in Cucumber Crush, offsetting the image over the side of the card slightly for interest, but making sure the sentiment would still fit inside. I then filled in the gaps stamping two of the outline flowers in Watermelon Wonder and Peekaboo Peach.

Anyway, be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration HERE on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog and I hope to see you in the gallery :) Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, January 13, 2017

Still TIME to play @ TIME OUT Challenges - Inspired By Words

* First post of the day, please come back again at 9am for our Guest Designer & USC #13 reminder post *

Hey!

I'm back today with a reminder card for the 13th TIME OUT Challenge and this time it's a inspired by words challenge, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

If music be the food of love, play on

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the word love this time, which resulted in this card...

I used Uniko Studio Always and Forever stamp set & simply stamped the 'love you' heart in red ink & fussy cut around it. I adhered it to the white CS layer using foam adhesive then stamped the sentiment 'with all my heart' in black ink.

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

New Challenge DT Call - Time Out Challenges

Hey!

WOW! What a fabulous few days! Did you all enjoy the NEW release? I know a lot did as you kept me busy fulfilling orders! Well, if you missed the post & blog hop you can catch up on it HERE and there is still time to comment along the hop to be in the chance of winning the prizes up for grabs.

Anyway, today I am telling you all about a NEW challenge blog called TIME OUT Challenges that is starting with it's first challenge in March & currently has a DT Call. I thought I would give it a go and try out for the team, as you all know I do love a challenge blog!

The theme for the DT call is Love and/or Friendship & this is what I came up with...

It wouldn't be Valentine's Day without a card for my husband! I decided to keep the hearts to a minimum an decided to use the NEW Explosion! set, as after all he is a guy and he might send me hearts and flowers but I know that they aren't his favourite!

I started out by using the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

I then stamped the explosion & LOVE sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and simply coloured it in with a red Copic marker and the sentiment in a pink Copic marker. I then trimmed the explosion out not leaving any border, which is really easy as it's all straight lines!

I then temporarily adhered the explosion to the white CS layer to stamp the exploding lines, 'YOU' sentiment which is masked from A Gift For You and the heart stamped from Always & Forever. The white layer is mounted to the black card base using foam adhesive as is the explosion.

Ok, that's all from me today, I had better get the dinner prepared, a lovely steak & chips over candle light tonight, plus lots of snuggles on the sofa with a good movie is planned!

I hope you all have a LOVELY Valentine's Day & thank you for stopping by today :)

Always & Forever

Hey!

I'm kicking the week off with another LOVE themed card...

The card uses a combination of challenges. First up is the current "Less is More" challenge seen HERE and below, which is a sketch challenge.

Next, I have used the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours seen HERE and below...

I started out by stamping the 'Always & forever' sentiment on to a panel of white card. I then adhered a panel of black card above and below the sentiment and adhered the whole lot to a Melon Mambo panel and then a white card base. The 'Love You' heart is stamped in SU! Melon Mambo and cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. I added some glitter to the wording for that little added sparkle.

A perfect card to give to that special someone in your life, not just for Valentine's Day but anytime! I'm not so patiently waiting for the delivery guy today, yummy new stamps are soon to be inked ;) and there is much to be done in preparation for their arrival, I had best get to it! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today & have a lovely day.

Countdown to Christmas Day 5

Hey!

Is it really day 5? Oh my Christmas Day is only 20 sleeps away & I still have quite a bit to do AND there is SO much excitement just around the corner here at Uniko Studio too with the December Release - Sneak Peeks begin on Saturday!

Anyway, yesterday I said I had a little something different to share with you and here it is...

What do you think of my little Christmas tree decoration? Below is a close up of the sparkly snowflake detail...

I love sewing and making stuff but I don't always have the time or patience to make them! But, as it's the Countdown to Christmas and it incorporated snowflakes I made time and TBH I throughly enjoyed myself! I'm thinking of making a couple more of these in different colour combos and giving them as little gifts to some special friends.

They are super simple to make too. I started out with 100% wool felt (Papertrey Ink) in Aqua Mist and I die cut 2 hearts using the Sizzix Framelits Heart collection (the second largest). I then die cut a Vintage Cream medium Uniko Studio Designer Die Snowflake. I used 100% wool felt as I tried using the cheap felt I had in my stash but the snowflake simply fell to pieces as it was too flimsy.

I then placed the snowflake on the top heart and used some simple hand stitching using embroidery floss to secure the snowflake in place. I added some Swarovski beads to add some sparkle along the way too. Once the snowflake was in place I secured the hanging ribbon and then used a blanket stitch to sew the hearts together. As I neared the end of my sewing I padded the heart out with some toy stuffing.

That's all from me today, I hope that you have enjoyed todays inspiration?! I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then thank you for stopping by today :)

Countdown to Christmas Day 4

Hey!

I'm back this afternoon with day 4 of my Countdown to Christmas, this mornings post HERE was by Gillian our December Guest Designer who won the last Uniko Studio Challenge. Be sure to check out Gillian's beautiful & festive card as a challenge reminder. There is still 10 days to get your entires linked up.

Ok, back to my project for today...

The inspiration for this card came from the current CASology challenge HERE which is ribbon. I had all the usual ideas of using ribbon on cards, tags & gifts floating around my mind. Then all of a sudden it came to me - a gift card, but not in the usual sense of creating a gift card holder but merely a card disguised as a gift.

Yes, it's not an original idea but it's what came to me and sometimes you just have to go with the flow! I've used minimal supplies on the card and any colour ribbon can be used. You could even match the colours to your actually gift wrapping for the year if you are a colour coordinating theme person.

I decided to add a small die cut heart tag stamped with a 'With Love' sentiment from Flower Power #3, but it would still look pretty & festive even without the tag. Thinking about this card now as I type it doesn't even have to be a card for Christmas, it would suit any occasion.

That's all from me today & I hope I've inspired you a little bit to use some of that ribbon I know you're hoarding like me! I'll be back tomorrow at the usual time of 9am GMT with Day 5 of the countdown, with something a little different! Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Made With Love

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope everyone has had a day filled with LOVE. I was spoilt with Red Roses, a personalised card & a Trollbead for my bangle :)

This evening I cooked a lovely steak dinner for my Fiancé and made this card for him...

I kept my card super CAS and I used the new CAS(E) This Sketch challenge for my card layout which you can see HERE and below...

I have  SO many ideas & Uniko Studio stamps I'd like to use for this sketch so I'm sure you will be seeing it again in the coming days!

I kept my colour scheme masculine but with the all important RED, which is the cue word for the current CASology challenge HERE.

Not only was the title of my blog post 'Made With Love', for my card today, but also for the reason that there is a FABulous blog hop happening today in which Uniko Studio is sponsoring...

You can find out more about the blog hop HERE on Facebook and the hop starts HERE at the beautiful & talented Taheerah's Blog. Be sure to stop on by & hop along as there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs including a Uniko Studio prize!

Ok, thats all from me today. I'm off to have a lovely evening with my hunny! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share.

Washi TIME!

Hey!

I'm a little later than normal with my post today, with being away for a weekend there is much to catch up on and here at Uniko Studio we have some exciting Design Team announcements coming this Saturday plus exciting NEW products for release next month. You won't want to miss a second! Anyway,  I've got some Wonderful Washi paired with Today, Tomorrow & Always Time to share with you today...

My card LO was inspired by this one below that I came across on Pinterest...

As soon as I saw it I knew that Wonderful Washi would be the perfect stamp set to use. I liked the large sentiment too and decided to use the on from Today, Tomorrow & Always Time. I added a little punched out sparkly heart for the finishing touch which also makes this card perfect for the current CAS-ual Fridays challenge HERE to incorporate a heart.

That's all from me today, until tomorrow thanks for stopping by.
