Always & Forever

Hey!

I'm kicking the week off with another LOVE themed card...

The card uses a combination of challenges. First up is the current "Less is More" challenge seen HERE and below, which is a sketch challenge.

Next, I have used the current Dynamic Duos challenge colours seen HERE and below...

I started out by stamping the 'Always & forever' sentiment on to a panel of white card. I then adhered a panel of black card above and below the sentiment and adhered the whole lot to a Melon Mambo panel and then a white card base. The 'Love You' heart is stamped in SU! Melon Mambo and cut out and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. I added some glitter to the wording for that little added sparkle.

A perfect card to give to that special someone in your life, not just for Valentine's Day but anytime! I'm not so patiently waiting for the delivery guy today, yummy new stamps are soon to be inked ;) and there is much to be done in preparation for their arrival, I had best get to it! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today & have a lovely day.

Say it in GOLD

Hey & Happy Weekend!

I've finally found some time & most of all energy to get a little creative in the studio, it's been one of THOSE weeks. Anyway, I am here today with another couple of Pinterest inspired cards, which were both super duper simple thats why I made two!

My first card was inspired by THIS pin...

Yep, a literal take on the pin, but it's cute, don't you think? I used the 'Hello' from All Occasion Sentiments #1 and simply stamped and embossed it in gold. The 9.5 cm square panel is then adhered to a 10.5 cm square base card using foam adhesive.

This next card follows suit and is also a literal take on the pin...

HERE is the pin...

I simply stamped the 'LOVE' from All Occasion Sentiments #5 in gold pigment ink and then once it was dry went over the top with my gold at you Spica pen, which I also used to draw the hashtag. Like the first card the panel is adhered to the base card using foam adhesive.

OK, that's all I have for today, but I do have another card to share with you all tomorrow, so this time I will be back! Thanks for stopping by today & enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Throwback Thursday

Hey!

So, I thought it would be nice to add a little new feature here on the blog called Throwback Thursday. Each thursday I will aim to take a look back at one project I made in 2013 and create a new and improved version of the card.

Last week I was unwell and didn't get to create a TT card to share with you but you can see the first TT instalment HERE.

The card I have picked for todays recreation is THIS one...

And this is my new version of the card...

As you can see I've kept it basically the same except instead of stamping the butterflies flat onto the white layer I decided to die cut the butterflies and only adhered them down the centre to give more dimension.

I also added the small flower detail to the die cuts using the flower trio stamp in the BRIGHT Butterflies set, I simply masked off the two larger flowers in the trio before inking. I also heat embossed the little flower and add a small rhinestone. I also decided to keep the card base white instead of the coloured base in the original card, I think it makes the butterflies 'POP' more and the layer is also mounted on foam adhesive for dimension.

Why not take a look back at some of your older creations and see how they spark you to create a new version. That's all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Runway Inspired

Hey!

It's been a while since I last joined in with a Runway Inspired Challenge, but when I saw the current inspiration photo I was instantly inspired to make this little card...

I was inspired by the 'splashes' of colour on the inspiration photo seen HERE over on the challenge blog and below. They instantly reminded me of yesterdays Watercolour LOVE card HERE and my desire to explore the trend more.

For my card I decided to stamp my flowers & leaves onto some watercolour paper and I used a previous technique seen HERE to achieve the solid water coloured effect and heat embossed the line image of the flower in white over the top to define the flowers a little more.

I decided to leave the card sentiment free and mounted it onto a soft lemon card stock base to enhance the pastel shades of the flowers. That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Grunge, Grids & Hearts CAS Style!

Hey & Happy Monday!

I do hope your week has got off to a good start? If not I hope todays card might lift your spirits and bring you a bit of cheer...

Today I am going grunge with grids, hearts & loopy linen thread bows CAS style! It all started with a new SU! stamp I bought called Off the Grid and the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen below.

Having a sketch and stamps decided I needed some colours to park my creation a little more, so I decided to use the current CAS - Colours & Sketches colours seen HERE and below.

I knew I wanted to mask and stamp the grid down the length of the card, which I did and then I went ahead & wrapped some fine linen thread (given to me by a lovely friend from TPL Thanks Brenda!) round the length of the card and securing where I would place the stamped & cut out heart.

I then thought it looked a little flat so decided to add some loops of the linen thread to peep out from behind the heart. This gave the card more interest and added to the CAS grunge type feel I was looking for.

That's all from me today, if you missed the announcement of the January Blog Hop yesterday, it is HERE and also we have a sketch challenge this month HERE, I'd love you to join in! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

Happy Birthday & a Winner!

Hey & Happy Sunday!

Apologies for my absence over the past few days, but I am finally back & into the groove of some creativity and made a few cards this morning. My first card can be seen HERE on the NEW Uniko Studio Challenge post.

My second card is my next instalment of my Pinterest Inspired creations. Again, it was a pin that immediately sparked creativity and I knew exactly how I was going to use the inspiration!

Here is this weeks pin...

And this is what I created...

A masculine geometric themed birthday card. I liked the colours in the inspiration but decided I would use brighter colours and I am pleased with the result. I'm thinking now that this would look pretty awesome in a rainbow colour effect too!

Again, I have used the January Blog Hop featured set Accent Essentials: Arrows to create dome of elongated triangles. This brings me on nicely to announce the long over due winner of the blog hop. So without further ado random.org chose comment no.130 and in counting the comments in order of the hop the winner is....

LOVE...LOVE....LOVE those distress trees :)

Who left the comment above on Taheerah's blog HERE. Congratulations Joni Nina! Send me an email to beverley@unikostudio.com with your postal address and I will get your prize in the post and email you your gift certificate!

Ok, that's all from me today, it's nearly time for dinner at the In-Laws which I am looking forward to, as we have a lovely surprise for them - more of that another day! I WILL be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Love Hearts

Hey!

Today I have a couple more cards to share from Saturday, these I made during the demo, just a couple of ideas I had sketched out prior to doing the demo...

This first card uses the 'Love You' heart from Always & Forever paired with a trio of mini hanging glittered hearts.

The second combines the Always & Forever set with this months featured set Accent Essentials: Arrows.

I love this colour combo and the angles and multi directional flow of arrows. The embossed & raised 'Love You' heart draws the main focus and the point of the heart towards the 'Always & Forever 'sentiment.

Short & sweet from me today, I'm working on some exciting things for the upcoming February Release, one of which is a NEW website with LOTS of NEW & exciting features (with hubby's much needed help & knowledge!). Best get on as he has given me tasks to accomplish!

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

'Die'mensional

Hey Happy Monday!

Apologies for my tardiness with todays post, I've no fantastic excuse other than lack of sleep last night. I found myself wide awake at 2am unable to get back to sleep for hours! So today I have been lacking in energy.

Anyway, enough of my woes! I thought I would pop in and share a couple of the cards we made during the class on Saturday at The Paperlane...

Both cards are inspired by THIS card I shared last week and my new LOVE for adding dimension to die cuts. It seemed appropriate that I tried it out with the Designer Dies Graphic Flowers from Time and I have to say I am loving the results!

As you can see on this first card I went for a rainbow effect which is was also inspired by THIS card here. I added a lovely dose of glitter to the top layer as I just can't stop using the stuff! My second card is another alternative of the same technique, also inspired by Jennifer McGuire and specifically THIS card. Though Jennifer stamps the patterned panel I decided to make a tiny dent in my patterned paper stash...

I chose a patterned paper from the Bo Bunny Isabella collection and I have to say once I had watched Jennifer's video it all became clear and the technique was easy to achieve and was very therapeutic and relaxing to do.

Like I said before this is a technique that I am sure you will be seeing more of and I look forward to trying out different versions!

Sorry to those who saw these cards on Saturday at the class, but I thought I would share it with all my lovely followers near and far who couldn't come :) This also reminds me that I am pleased to announce that due to 'popular' demand, from next month I will be running two classes at The Paperlane, one from 9:30 - 12:30 and the usual 2 - 5, with a short demo at between the classes (all the details are HERE).

There is also still time to hop along with the Design Team and I with this months revisited blog hop HERE and be sure to comment along the way for the chance to win the prize :)

Ok, that's all from me today, I've time to squeeze in a couple more little jobs before I start the tea! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by :)
