Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Background Blocks Mid Century Modern

Good morning all,

I hope this blog post finds you well? Steph here with my first Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post of 2022!

I am starting the year off with Uniko Background Blocks Mid Century Modern stamp. I love the Mid Century Modern sets and this one is particularly good for masculine cards, however I have applied a mix of styles here.

My first card teams the background block with a mix of sentiments from Uniko Simply Said Blocks and Simply Said Blocks II stamp sets. The sentiments are heat embossed onto black card using blue embossing powder while the background block was stamped and heat embossed in yellow powder. I used the stamp twice, slightly overlapping, to give a longer edge to the card and I trimmed it before adhering to the card base.

For my second card I wanted a softer and more feminine feel so I teamed the background block with florals from the Uniko Originally Organic Additions stamp set. The elements of this card are all stamped in dye ink which gives a softer look than the heat embossing above.

Possibly my favourite of the three cards, here I have heat embossed the background block in black onto yellow card. I have used the block twice to show how nicely the background blocks fit into a slimline card. I have added some enamel dots over some of the 'terminals' (I often think of this stamp as an underground map!!). The sentiment is from the Uniko Doodle Flowers stamp set and is white heat embossed onto a black card strip before being adhered with foam pads.

Hopefully there's something here to kickstart your New Year crafting. I know I found it hard getting back into it after a very lazy break between Christmas and New Year!

Take care and keep crafting!

Much love

Steph x

Featured In... Die Cutting Essentials

Hey!

Happy Friday & HAPPY long Bank Holiday weekend to all in the UK, you've got to love an extra day to the weekend!

Today I am back to share a little more about the Uniko feature in Die Cutting Essentials, which I shared on social media yesterday.

I am always truly honoured to be approached by editors to work to a brief and have my cards featured :)

For this feature Kirstie the editor of DCE chose Originally Organic & Originally Organic Additions clear stamps & designer dies to be featured. I had a gorgeous colour scheme perfect for them and here is a couple of the cards I made for the feature...

This is probably my favourite stamp from Originally Organic, I just love the swirly features. On this card I have stamped & embossed the image in white onto a grey card base & coloured using Prismacolor Pencils. I've then used a negative die cut panel to add interest and dimension. Such a fun technique to do with coordinating dies.

I stepped right out of my comfort zone for this next card and created a shaped card! I hardly ever choose to make a shaped card, but the curved floral stem was screaming to be layered around a curved edge.

More details about these cards and more can be found in the magazine AND there is a bonus card over on the Die Cutting Essential blog HERE.

AND if that's not enough, both of the Originally Organic & Originally Organic Additions are available as stamp & die bundles HERE and HERE on the website. Saving you 15% if you bought the stamps and dies separately.

That's all from me today, but the DT will be back tomorrow with more inspiration to share with you :)

DT inspiration - Extending your stamps

Morning all, Julie here with another idea on how to use those small stamps.
I'm up on my own blog with a card that uses the Originally Organic Additions and Big and Bold Hello stamps, as well as few hand drawn additions.

I've wanted the Christmas wreath stamps for awhile but as they are still out of stock I've had to think outside the box. I decided to show you that if you haven't got the exact right stamp, look at your stamps again and perhaps you can use those you have in ways that they weren't originally intended for!
I started by placing my handmade wreath maker, you could use the Gina K one if you have it of course, and a panel of card, in my MISTI.
Placing the small leaf element from the Originally Organic Additions set in the MISTI, I stamped.and rotated my card in the positioner and repeated 3 times. I was intending to stamp at every station but decided to keep it at 4, leaving out alternate positions.
To add more leaves instead of stamping I drew 2 in freehand on each spray, then added the flowers from Big and Bold Hello and the small berry clusters from Originally Organic Additions using the positioner and MISTI. To fill in some of the empty space I doodled a small flower by the stamped flowers and added more berries in various sizes, then coloured the elements with Copics.
My sentiment from Simply Said Christmas was stamped and embossed with gold EP.
To frame the wreath, I inked a slightly larger card panel with a Versamark pen and embossed with the same gold EP. Both panels were then added to a 5 x 5 white base card.

By the way there's a fab article featuring some of the DT in this month's Craft Stamper and a little extra on their blog here.

OK, that's it from me, thanks for stopping by,

CAS Colours & Sketches #284 - Colours

Hello August!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and as the northern hemisphere is in the full height of summer & people on their holidays, this month is a multiple hostess month. This week our hostess is Patricia and she has this challenging colour combo HERE and seen below...

I love blue and green, but the Cajun Craze threw me at first! However, I had an artistic idea and I have been wanting to free hand paint some background lines, so decided to give them a whirl on todays card using watered down Cajun Craze...

I decided to dust off Kindness Blooms, stamping the blooms in Pacific Point (the closest blue to Blueberry Bushel I own) and the leaves also from the clear stamp set in Old Olive (the closest green to Mossy Meadow I own).

I layered the blooms and leaves onto my watercolored lines panel, adhering some with double sided tape and some with 1mm thick foam adhesive. The sentiment is from Originally Organic Additions and I finished the blooms off with some Cajun Craze enamel shapes.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

May 2018 Release In Review Day 4

Hey!

Welcome to the May Release in Review Day 4.

Yep! I'm behind schedule again :( Good job I have a wonderful Design Team who continue to post and inspire :)

Anyway, as a couple of the Design Team didn't receive their goodies in time for the countdown and release day festivities, I thought it would be nice to have them be in the limelight and have a release in review week.

For day 4 they created some more inspiration using the Uniko Designer Die Collections released this month...

And here is some new inspiration using them from Carol and Rahmat. Be sure to click on their links for all the details and more inspiration on their blogs....

Introducing... Originally Organic Additions Designer Dies

Hey!

Welcome to day 6 of the May 2018 Release product introductions!

I am super excited about today as the product we are introducing is some NEW matching Designer Dies to a previously released and popular Uniko clear stamp set. I love matching dies, they provide so many more techniques and ways to stretch your stamps.

Being a very small business, the cost of adding new dies to the inventory is huge. They are manufactured in the USA and like most imports there is added costs to receiving these. Anyway, I feel Uniko has grown a little over the past few months and with having a stand at Happy Stampers Festival & Stamp Magic I felt the time was right to add more! Ido plan on adding more coordinating and stand alone dies more frequently (fingers crossed) in the near future.

OK, so let's see these dies and the clear stamp set they match...

So many fun possibilities with these dies and clear stamp set now ;) And one of my favourite cards to make is shaker cards!

So here's one I made to test the dies out as soon as they landed in the studio...

The Designer Die Originally Organic Additions Collection contains 7 dies. One to cut out the inside of the heart, which I have used on this card to create the shaker. One to cut the outside of the heart, so this gives you the option to die cut both the inside and out or one or the other! Plus, there are 5 other dies to die cut the tiny flowers and leaf sprigs in the clear stamp set.

I used some lovely Altenew soft pastel ink colours for my flowers and to stamp the wreath, the shaker mix is from Stampin' Up!. I added a few tiny drops of White Blizzard Nuvo Drops, but they are hard to see in the photo as they are tiny!

That's all I have to share here, but there is plenty of inspiration from our Guest Designer & Design Team.

CAS Colours & Sketches #270 - Colours

Hello May!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches and Cathy is our hostess for May. As usual we are starting things off HERE with a colour combo...

I admit that this colour combo threw me a little ;) However, I scouted through my supplies and landed upon using Originally Organic & Originally Organic Additions to create my card.

I also turned to CAS(E) this Sketch! for the layout of my card, seen HERE and below. I had to do a tiny bit of stamping and masking in the lower left corner, but the fussy cutting was worth it!

I decided to use the Sahara Sand (Crumb Cake was my closest match) and the Berry Burst as my main colours and the Soft Sky as an accent as I only have that colour in card. I also kept the design to just stamping and didn't add any extra embellishments.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

CAS Colours & Sketches #257 Timeless Tuesday AKA The Double!

Hey!

I am back THIS week and again as your hostess for the last of the January challenges over at CAS Colours & Sketches. I loved seeing how you were all inspired using last weeks sketch. This week is Timeless Tuesday, AKA The Double!

Here is the sketch and colour combo, remember you need to use both to be considered for the weekly winners at CC&S!

And here is how I was inspired...

I decided to use the heart wreath again from Originally Organic Additions as it was still out on my very messy desk!

I stamped the wreath in Stampin' Up! Certainly Celery ink and I also used my MISTI to stamp it a couple of times to get a good crisp impression. The flowers are stamped using a Costal Cabana marker and I used my closest match to Apricot Appeal which is So Saffron.

I decided to double mount the middle panel for a little bot more interest and also the Costal Cabana strip of card didn't look quite right against the card base. The wreath is fussy cut out and mounted using foam adhesive. I used a rectangle die for the sentiment and fussy cut an individual flower for extra added interest too!

I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by!

January 2018 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!
It's time for another Uniko Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY - Whoohoo!! For those of you who are new around these parts I will explain what this post is all about...

Here at Uniko HQ it is just myself behind the screen, blogging, designing, packaging stamps & orders through the Uniko online shop, customer service and all the things in between. I *usually* release new product every other month for a number of reasons, but mainly so I can keep up with everything!

On non - release months like this month I like to set myself and the Design Team a challenge to look back at a previously released product and give it some more love.

Usually I choose just one product that was released the previous year or a once favourite that hasn't seen much air time! This month however, I decided to give the Design Team a HUGE choice and to choose their favourite from any of the 5 releases we had. That's a choice from 24 clear stamp sets, 5 stencil designs and 2 designer die collections. That might not sound a lot compared to other companies out there, but that is a HUGE inventory for me and Uniko ;)

Anyway, be sure to comment along the hop for your chance to win a £15 eGift Certificate to spend in store. You have until Midnight (GMT) Sunday 21st January 2018 to comment.

Happy Hopping!
