DT inspiration - Pure Florals coasters

Bonjour !

Izzy here. To start June month, I wanted to share with you what I've offered to my mother for Mother's day which was last Sunday.

A few years ago, I bought some coasters in ceramic that were waiting to be decorated. As I was looking for an idea for this special day, I wanted to try stamping on them and what better than the Pure Florals collection to do it !

As the coasters have a porous texture, I had to use Memento Luxe ink to stamp the images, and I coloured them with Fabrico markers from Tsukineko . These two mediums, once dry do not blend with water, so that you can clean the coasters with a wet cloth when dirty.

For this coaster, I used the large outline rose of the Pure Florals : Rose set. As for a card, I used the masking technique on this coaster. I first stamp the rose, then with a post-it note I mask it to stamp the leaves and the bud. Then I coloured the image with two red (#114 &#156) Fabrico markers for the flowers, and two green (#110 & #167) markers for the leaves.

For this one, I used the gorgeous lily of the Pure Florals : Lily set. As I didn't want the outlines of the flowers to be too dark, for all the coasters, I used second generation stamping to stamp the images. I used the Memento Luxe Gray flannel ink. I coloured the Lily with (#106, 110, 134 & 161) Fabrico markers.

Next is the beautiful chrysanthemum from the Pure Florals : Chrysanthemum set. I used the large outlined stamp. I think this one is my favourite since I succeeded to blend perfectly both colours. This ceramic absorbs very quickly the ink so that it is quite difficult to blend inks together and that's why it's hard to hide the markers lines. I coloured this one with (#111 & #132) Fabrico markers.

Of course I had to also make one with the stunning gerbera from the Pure Florals : Gerbera set. My mother loves flowers and except the lily, they have all these gorgeous flowers blooming in their garden. For this coaster, I used the two outlined stamps and I tried to make a gradient pink tone, the wide open one being clearer than the one we only see in profil. As I told you before, it's hard to perfectly blend the colours without lines marking. But I finally like the result. This one is coloured with ( #106, 115, 134, 161) Fabrico markers.

I love how they finally look all together, so I hope that Bev will design other Pure Florals flowers to make new ones for me ! 😉

I hope you get inspired with these coasters, I wanted to show you the versatility of the Uniko stamps which can be used also on other medium than cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous June month !

Izzy xx

Introducing... Pure Florals: Rose

Hey!

Welcome back to the final day of the product introductions for the December release. This is the exciting bit where you get to see the sneak peeks in action!

Today myself and my awesome Design Team  are introducing the next clear stamp set in the Pure Florals series, Pure Florals: Rose.

You might have noticed a few peeks at this clear stamp set throughout the countdown, but how about a little more inspiration using the stamps in this set...

I decided to use the opening bud rose contained in the set, I have had this ultra CAS design in my head since I designed the set and needed to get it onto a card!

I am certainly not the likes of Debby Hughes or Michelle Short when it comes to colouring and using different mediums, but I do like to give it a go and do my best! I've used my 'go to' Prismacolor pencils to colour the rose. A simple trio of reds, duo of greens and starting from dark shading to light and blending until I was happy. The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks.

That's all from me here today, but be sure to hop around the Design Team blogs and leave comments along your way to be in the chance of winning some random prizes!

CAS Colours & Sketches #243 - Colours

Hey & Hello October!

I feel really ahead of myself as I have made my card AND preparing my post on a Sunday afternoon, I'm usually still writing my post on a Tuesday morning! It sure feels good to be organised for once ;)

Anyway, enough of that how about a fresh new month of challenges over at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month Emily is our hostess and kicking the month off with this wonderful colour combo HERE to inspire your creativity...

Here is what I came up with...

I'd have normally gone for more of an Autumnal leaf card, with this colour combo. However, I was inspired to use them for a floral card, using Flower Power #6 paired with the Thanks sentiment from Simply Said Blocks. Time to get ahead and build my thank you card stash up again!

Just some simple stamping, fussy cutting and layering using foam adhesive. Plus some Stampin' Up! enamel dots and the Stitched Framelits dies.

That's all from me today using the sketch, but if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used it.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Super FREE Saturday Returns!

* This is my 2nd post this morning, if you missed the February 2017 Release Sneak Peeks click HERE*

Hey!

Yep, those of you who have been following Uniko for a while may remember a feature I had a few years ago called Super FREE Saturday. It was a featured I did roughly every month, where I  designed a little digital freebie for you all to use. Some were pre coloured, ready to print and cut others were outline images for you to colour.

Anyway, I thought I would reintroduce the feature and again it will be every other month in between releases. I know it IS release month this month, but we're celebrating so I couldn't resist having an 'extra' freebie for you all to use ;)

This is a is a beautiful design especially for those who like to colour! It is called 'happy roses' and is a compilation design from a number of Uniko clear stamp sets, Flower Power #6 and Originally Organic. They pair up beautifully ;)

I've created a couple of samples to inspire you and show you how they can be used...

This first card both the floral design and sentiment are printed onto white card stock and I have simply coloured the design with Copic Markers. I used a total of 5 markers and just did simple flat colouring.

My next card is again a one layer card. This time I printed the floral design onto Kraft card stock and coloured it in using Prismacolour pencils.

I opted for two shades of yellow, so that the roses would really 'pop' against the Kraft card stock. The sentiment is stamped and is also a little sneak at a sentiment from a set we will be introducing on Tuesday ;)

Sarah G here crashing the Uniko blog....I love the colouring that Bev has done on this gorgeous image.  I have focused on the digi as an outline image by foiling in gold and hot pink:

Foiling is really hard to pick up in a decent photo but I hope you can see it!  I have more over at my blog....back over to Bev :)

Deborah here to crash the party too! Well, why not? I made a card using these pretty flowers too. Details on my blog:

I'd LOVE to see what you create using this digital stamp! Tag @unikoltd on Facebook and Instagram.

Or why not create a card and link up to our current Anything Goes Challenge with Optional Twist Love HERE or we have our 5th Birthday Linky Party HERE. There are FAB prizes to be won on both these posts ;)

Ok, that is all from me today but I will be back tomorrow with more Sneak Peeks to share and MORE!!

CAS Colours & Sketches #209

Hey!

A new month means a new hostess over at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month we have the lovely Jane as hostess and as usual we're starting with a color challenge HERE and seen below. When Jane was putting this scheme together, she was thinking of Valentine's Day. That doesn't mean you have to make a love themed card though. This colour scheme can be used for so many different occasions.

We've used Stampin' Up colour names for reference; however, you may use any companies' products for your cards as long as you match our colours as closely as possible. You may also use neutral colours (white, cream, kraft, brown, grey, or black) for card layers, sentiments, and image outlines. However, in order to be considered for our weekly winners, you must not use any other colours.

Don't forget to keep your creation CAS too ;)

This is what I came up with using the colours...

When I saw the colours I did think of Valentine's Day, but I also thought of roses too. I've been wanting to sit, create and join in on some challenges, but along with a little lack of mojo I have been busy preparing for the Uniko February Release and 5th Birthday celebrations this month ;)

So when I 'forced' myself to sit down and make a card I had to join in on the CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge seen HERE and below. I Love how CAS this sketch is :)

I opted to use Uniko's Flower Power #6 and Background Builders:Vines clear stamp sets as each set contains the same rose but differing in size. I could have done with a third 'middling' size rose but instead used some Sweet Sugarplum enamel dots - just as good!

The sentiment is from Simply Said II and adhered using foam adhesive and the whole stamped panel again adhered with foam adhesive, so a whole lot of dimension going on!

Anyway, be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration HERE on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog and I hope to see you in the gallery :) Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, January 13, 2017

Make a Wish...

Hey & Happy Sunday!

I do hope you are all having a lovely weekend and have found some time to craft. I had a little bit of unexpected 'bean free' time yesterday afternoon, so I took advantage and after a little power nap (it has to be done) I set to making a card just for fun.

I came across THIS card on Pinterest by Maile Belles. I love the layout of the card, the stamped roses from behind the angled panel. It reminded me of the rose image from Flower Power #6

I saw the new challenge over at "Less is More" HERE too, which this week is a colour week and they have chosen ombre. I was looking through my supplies and decided I would give my Copic markers a dust off to create my ombre background.

I chose a trio of pinks, RV10, RV13 and RV14. I used the chisel edge of the pen and worked from light to dark and then back to the lightest. It was a reasonably quick process. The roses are stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white EP. The mini rose and leaves are from Background Builders: Vines and the sentiment from Pure Florals: Cosmos. The complete supplies can be found at the end of the post.

Did you see the return of a past feature HERE on the blog yesterday? Design Team Inspiration is back and Rahmat started things off again for us. Other members of the Design Team will be popping in through the month with various projects to inspire you too. I hope you are pleased to see the return of this feature! I have plans to reintroduce others from way back yonder too ;)

Ok, that is all from me today. I hope to find some crafty time tonight to unwind as I am on my own with the beans today as daddy is doing some extra work to pay for Christmas! Lol!

Thanks for stopping by.

TIME OUT Challenges - Inspired By Words

Hey!

It's time for challenge #33 over at TIME OUT Challenges and we are back to being inspired by words, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

Happy is the bride that the sun shines on

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the word bride, which resulted in this card...

I am loving my Mama Elephant dies I bought with my birthday money and I can't seem to stop using the curved edge die :) I dusted off my All Occasion Sentiments #5 stamp set along with Background Builders: Vines to pair with the die along with my favourite ink colours and card base colour!

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Sue, be sure to stop by Sue's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

A Thank You & a Farewell...

Hey!

Today is a sad day here at Uniko as we say THANK YOU and farewell to another member of the Design Team... Amber from Bella Rose Cards

Amber has been on the DT almost since the beginning, I couldn't remember the exact date off the top of my head, so I had to go back in time on the blog to see! The exact date Amber joined the team was October 20th 2012.

One of the best things was back in September 2013 when I got to meet up with Amber whilst my husband and I were honeymooning in Vegas :) Amber is as lovely and sweet as she comes across in her blog :) I hope that we will go back to Vegas and hopefully be able to spend a little more time together.

Amber has worked wonders with Uniko products, showcasing them perfectly in her unique clean and bright style, with added polka dots too! I thought I would share a few of my favourite projects Amber has created since being on the DT...

Myself and a couple from the DT have created a card for Amber...

Knowing Amber uses bright and bold colours on her creations, I tried to create this look on my Thank You card. I also chose the rose from Flower Power #6 (Back in Stock on the 11th June with others) as Amber's blog is Bella Rose.

As you know I love to join in on a challenge, so I used the current Freshly Made Sketch layout seen HERE and below for my card.

As I said a couple of the DT are joining me with the farewell, so please pop by their blogs and see what they have created and leave some love too, I know they appreciate it :)

So THANK YOU Amber, my words don't seem quite enough to show how appreciative I am of all that you have done for Uniko and you will truly be missed. Good luck with all your future crafty adventures :)

Huge Hugs Bev x

That's all from me today, I will be back on the blog next week with more to share. Until then THANK YOU for stopping by today.
