CAS Colours & Sketches #167

Hey!

It's time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge & as this is the 5th Thursday in the month, this week is a double challenge. Our hostess Jane has chosen 3 colours and a sketch for you to combine and spark your creativity...

I think this has to be my first double challenge I have done at CC&S not just as a DT member but as a player. They scare me and my creativity! 

So to overcome this I sat down and thought logically. I started by looking at the colours and my stamps to see what theme the colours would suit. With the chocolate brown and my I LOVE Coffee set being prominent on my desk that is what I opted for and this is what I came up with...

After choosing the main stamp set to use the rest of the card kind of fell into place! I had recently bought SU! Timeless Textures stamp set and have been wanting to pair the cup stain stamp with my Uniko stamps for sometime and this card was perfect for doing that.

I still used Chocolate Chip for the stains, but stamped them off before stamping onto the panel to achieve a lighter shade. I used Pacific Point to stamp the open polka dots from Background Builders: Circles and the Uniko flower is stamped in Summer Sun, the closest yellow I have.

As I have used polka dots I thought I would also enter my card into the current "Less is More" challenge HERE, which is to use polka dots this week.

CAS Colours & Sketches #166

Hey!

It's new challenge day over at CAS Colours & Sketches :) Our hostess this month is Jane and she has come up with yet another FABulous sketch HERE and seen below for you to try this week...

This is what I came up with...

I decided to combine the sketch with the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop HERE which Uniko is proudly sponsoring. You can read more about the hop HERE and I have a giveaway too ;)

I started by stamping and embossing in white the coffee cup from Uniko's I LOVE Coffee clear stamp set. This set along with a couple of other is NOW back in stock HERE. 

I then trimmed some white CS to create the panels which are 4.5 x 2cm, which are stamped with the mini Uniko flower logo in my favourite Spring colours. The sentiment panel is a combination of a sentiment from the I LOVE Coffee set and Simply Said. I adhered the panels to the card using foam adhesive.

Ok, that's all from me just now, it's a busy one here at Uniko HQ with the restocks in and pre orders to pack! Plus I have the mini April Release goodies in my hands ;)

To kick this FABulous hop off I've created my own Spring themed tea card...

With Spring just around the corner and the weather outside today looking like Spring I decided to ink up and pair up two of the newly released Uniko clear stamp sets I LOVE Tea and Beautiful Blooms III. Both sets are available for pre order and due back in stock on the 23rd March ;) 

These two sets are perfect for each other, being designed at the same time the I LOVE Tea clear stamp set features a miniature version of the fully assembled Beautiful Blooms III floral image. 

The teacup is stamped in SU! Going Grey ink, with the floral detail stamped in SU! Pear Pizzaz and again in VersaMagic Pink Grapefruit. I then fussy cut the tiny floral detail and adhered it to the teacup using DST. The teacup is fussy cut too and before adhering it to the card panel using foam adhesive I stamped the sentiment from I LOVE Tea and the floral cluster of Beautiful Blooms III using quite a bit of masking!

CAS Colours & Sketches #165

Hey!

Sorry I am late with my CC&S Design Team card and for being MIA for yet another spell of time, I have been hit yet again by another bug :( This time it literally floored me and I nearly passed out with a dizzy spell whilst giving the beans their breakfast. 

Anyway, enough of my woes, I made it back into the studio this afternoon to 'relax' and make a couple of cards including this one using the new colours over at CAS Colours & Sketches...

Jane our hostess for March has yet again come up with a lovely fresh colour combination to inspire our creations, the colours can be seen HERE and below.

As you can see I decided to go with florals using the 'non-traditional' colours for floral creations. However, who said that florals have to be inspired by those seen in nature?

With it being St Patricks Day I opted for the Good Luck sentiment, plus it fit snug beside the flower ;)

March 2016 Design Team Blog Hop & Giveaway!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is the March 2016 Design Team Blog Hop. Along with the hop we have a GIVEAWAY! So be sure to grab a drink, get comfy, relax and enjoy.

As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on! Here at Uniko I *USUALLY* only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month.

The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 16  month old twin boys. So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well...just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love.

This month I decided to take a look back at the previously released Pure Florals: Cosmos clear stamp set...

With Spring just around the corner here in the UK and Easter coming up too, I thought this set would be nice to revisit and give some extra love to.

As usual I like to show a couple of my old favourite creations & more can be found HERE on the Pure Florals: Cosmos Pinterest page.

Ok, how about some new inspiration using this set...

I went for another quick CAS card using a few favourite challenges, first up the layout of my card is inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. The colours of my card are from the new Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below. Lastly I thought I would join in on the TIME OUT Challenge HERE which is Spring or Easter themed cards.

The flowers are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured really simply with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Some Bunny and the edge of the white layer is die cut using Mama Elephant dies.
