Festive Friday - Bright Snowflakes

Happy FriYAY!

Today I have a FLIPPIN' awesome Festive Friday card to share with you. It's an idea I've had floating round my head for a while, so it felt good to finally see it in real life.

I chose the Stencil - Ink & Flip Snowflake Pattern from the Christmas in July Release as I felt I had neglected it a little compare to the Stencil - Ink & Flip Christmas Tree Pattern

I chose two of my favourite brighter colours, Honeysuckle and Oceanside, but in hindsight could have gone even brighter.

I love the frosted feel vellum gives to a card and added a panel over the top. Another reason why I chose bright colours as I knew the vellum would mute the colours a little.

I adhered a Simply Said Blocks Christmas sentiment to the vellum using foam tape and adhered the panel to my stencilled card using glue behind the sentiment strip to hide the adhesive. I finished with a trio of Sunflower enamel dots.

You can watch me make this card if you're unsure of how the Ink & Flip Snowflake Pattern works or you need a little reminder. I have a YouTube Short HERE

I'd love to know the colour combo you would use for this stencil.

It's Beginning To Look Like... October/November Release Sneak Peeks!

Hello & Happy Monday.

How did we get here? I can't quite believe we will be welcoming a new month this week, and NOVEMBER of all months! This year has absolutely zoomed by.

Anyway, I'm super excited you stopped by as if you know me, I love starting a new week with New Release Sneak Peeks!

This month along with 3 new seasonal clear stamp sets, I am bringing 2 much loved clear stamp sets back from retirement. Lets have a look and see if you can guess which they are, I'm sure some of you will know...

This first is a set that originally made its debut in 2016 and this second originally debuted in 2012!! I've had so many requests for both, that I can't wait to relaunch them with lots of fresh inspiration.

The next 3 peeks are all brand new and I'm not saying much as I don't want to ruin the introductions this week!!

So what do you think? Are you excited to see some clear stamps return from retirement? And I'd love to know what you are excited to see more of

Technique Thursday with Uniko Designer Dies!

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Gosh, it's a warm one here today. Though I am sure when the sun starts to go down it will cool off, I can feel Autumn in the air.

Anyway, today I have a fun technique and a video to share. YES, I have been brave and recorded a video. I am still learning and still have a few things to learn to make them pretty. But this card I made yesterday was easier to explain and demonstrate in a video.

I used BIG & BOLD Snow Clear stamps and BIG & BOLD Snow Designer Dies. Plus there is a bundle option HERE!

My thinking behind this card and technique was that I wanted more of the stamped snowflake design to be seen and not hidden by a large die cut word.

It's a little fiddly, time consuming and this first card took two attempts! But, I think the results are fun. You can check out my video HERE on You Tube and below is the finished card of the one I made during the video.

I hope you enjoy the video and I'd love you to subscribe, I will be sharing more in the coming days and weeks.

Christmas in July - Wintery Wednesday

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I'm continuing with Christmas in July and today I have a colourful winter card to share with you. Stunning Snowflakes still to this day remains a firm favourite of mine, even after 10 years. This is another Uniko clear stamp set that remains timeless and ever popular. Though it is a clear stamp set I feel I have neglected, so it was time to give it some fresh inky love!

And because I couldn't decide on a colour, I opted for rainbow! Not quite the full rainbow, but some cheerful colour choices. The day started off sunny here in the North East, but it is now back to raining and quite a dark afternoon. So this certainly adds some colourful cheer.

Only one more day before school is out for summer, so I am making the most of my 'quiet' time in the studio! Lots of festive creativity in progress and I am getting so excited to share the NEW release with you, luckily not long to wait!

Introducing... Stencil Large Snowflake 1 and Large Snowflake 2

Happy Hump Day!

We are back today to hopefully get you over the hump with some awesome inspiration as we introduce two fun and festive Stencils - Large Snowflake 1 and Large Snowflake 2.

I couldn't decide which stencil to release, so that's why we have two! I don't think we can have too many snowflakes.

Not much to say about these snowflakes. You might recognise the designs as they are both snowflakes that have featured in previously release Uniko products, stamps and stencils, so lots of mix and matching opportunities. Both of these snowflake stencils come with the mask too, so even more techniques and fun to be had too.

Let's have a look at them in action...

SNOW much fun!

Sorry, I couldn't resist that pun! So which is your favourite? I can't decide TBH as I just love snowflakes. So that's it just 4 stencils added to the Uniko line up. They will be available to purchase tomorrow HERE on the website at 9am GMT.

If you need some more inspiration to help make up your mind, be sure to come back here tomorrow for our usual blog hop & giveaway.

See you tomorrow.

Thank you to all who entered the giveaway, your continued support, comments & love here at Uniko are much appreciated. There is another chance to WIN Uniko goodies on Saturday with our 2020 Christmas Party, so be sure to stop by & join in on the fun.

Before I go today I do have a quick wintery Christmas card to share with you...

I'm still dreaming of that white Christmas! I was organising some of my non Uniko stencils and came across the MFT Square Extraordinaire stencil and decided to have a play with it. I used Distress Oxide Speckled Egg to ink through the stencil and then before removing the stencil I stamped the Background Block Falling Snowflakes over the top with the same colour.

The large snowflakes and sentiment are from Stunning Snowflakes and I stamped them in Altenew Dark Night ink. I finished the snowflakes off with a little White Blizzard Nuvo Drops to the centres.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Uniko Sponsors TIME OUT Challenges

Hey!

I'm super happy you have stopped by today, I'm a little later than I had planned to be today, but I am here to let you know that Uniko is kicking off 2017's Sponsorships by sponsoring the new challenge over at TIME OUT Challenges HERE.

This fortnight over at TIME OUT the challenge is a theme...

Winter

and the optional twist is:

White on White
(you can use black and other neutrals for the sentiment)

Now, if you twist with the challenge you will be in the chance of winning a £15 eGift Certificate to spend in the Uniko website store.

I thought I would make a card to inspire you to join in...

As you can see I opted not to 'twist' this time, I was inspired to use the Winter Foliage clear stamp set (back in stock this month) and I combined a sentiment from Stunning Snowflakes.

Hopefully you can see that I tried to create a frosted snow effect to the foliage, by added some glitter to selected parts.

Be sure to pop on over to the TIME OUT Challenge blog HERE for some amazing inspiration from the TO Design Team and you will find the challenge rules and linky there too.

I hope to see you in the gallery ;)

December 2016 Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Sunday!

My apologies for being late with my post today, things have been a little hectic and tiring this weekend with a poorly bean, first a 24 hr sickness bug (again) and then high temperatures. It all seems to happen at night too, so it knocks everyone off runtime ;)

Anyway, the Design Team and I are here today with the usual non release month Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY! This month we have decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Stunning Snowflakes clear stamp set, a popular winter favourite.

This clear stamp set was released way back in October 2013 but is still a firm favourite of mine and many ;) The set also has a Pinterest page HERE, in which you can find lots of inspiration using it.

As usual I have picked a couple of my 'old' favourites using this set...

How about some fresh new inspiration using this set and don't forget to comment along the Design Team blogs to be in the chance of winning this set or a Gift Certificate to the same value if you already own it. You have until Midnight GMT Sunday 18th December to get your comments in.

CAS Colours & Sketches #199

Hey!

It's already Thursday again, which means it is time for another challenge over at CAS Colours & Sketches. This month Patricia is our hostess this month and has a fabulous CAS sketch HERE for you all to try...

This is what I came up with...

I've had this card design in my head, ever since I saw the sketch! All I needed was the time to sit down and stamp it out ;)

My creative time has been SO limited these past few weeks, as both the beans and I settle and adjust to the new sleeping times and arrangement. We are all slowly getting there, but each day seems to be different depending on what we have done.

Anyway, back to my card. As you can see I have opted to use Stunning Snowflakes, one of my all time favourite clear stamp sets! I have used a softer and non traditional colour scheme on my card, but I am rather pleased as to how it turned out.

The white stamped panel measures 10 x 7 cm and so does the offset Smokey Slate panel, so it is really easy to achieve the sketch design.

I *really* enjoyed this sketch, so I am sure you will be seeing it more in the coming days ;)

Ok, that's all from me for now, I hope I have inspired you to give these colours a go and join in on the challenge this week. Be sure to stop on over HERE and check out what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT have done using the colours and I hope to see you in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Introducing... Christmas Sparkle & Winter Foliage

YAY!

Thanks for all the lovely comments yesterday, didn't the Design Team do an awesome job showcasing the new clear stamps? If you missed it you can catch up HERE.

I'm SO glad that you have decided to come back today ;) as we have the last two product introductions for Sept/Oct product  release. That means tomorrow is release day!

Anyway, lets have a look at Christmas Sparkle and Winter Foliage. Both these clear stamp sets are awesome on their own, but they can be used together beautifully AND they work with other previously released Uniko Christmas/Winter themed clear stamps ;)

I had this card design in my head ever since I was designing the Christmas Sparkle bauble, so I had to recreate it for todays introduction!

The bauble is a two step stamp, which allows for a multitude of possibilities, however I decided to stamp both in Encore Silver ink and heat emboss with Stardust EP for a WOW of sparkle!

The fussy cut sparkly raised bauble is hanging from the bough of holly embellished with the layered poinsettia and sparkly ribbon from last years Christmas clear stamp set Jingle Bells

My next card focuses on Winter Foliage...

This clear stamp set features a large pine bough and pinecones, you might recognise the images as they are larger versions of the pinecones from the previously released Background Builders: Winter Vines clear stamp setand the pine bough is from the previously released Jingle Bells clear stamp set.

The pinecone stamp is a two step stamp and the large sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #4. Apart from the fussy cutting of the pinecones, this was a really quick and easily mass produceable Christmas card ;)

Ok, that's all I have to share with you here, but hop along the Design Team Blog links below for even more inspiration. I know for a fact you won't be disappointed, the team have created amazing projects showcasing how this set can be used...
