A Stamp Set A Day - A Gift For You

Hey!

Thanks for stopping by today, yesterday HERE I explained about a little blog feature during my absence to give birth to my two bundles of joy and settle into a routine once we are home.

The feature being 'A Stamp Set A Day'. I'm amazed at how many stamp sets I have designed and launched since Uniko Studio began back in February 2012 and sometimes sets can get neglected and unloved when new ones come out. So the basis of the feature is to give each set some new love! I have tried to keep the set the focus of the card/s but as you will see I have paired them with other Uniko Studio sets as they were designed that way :)

Today's featured set is A Gift For You...

It's a set I often reach for, but mainly for the sentiments! So I challenged myself to make a collection of cards and this is what I came up with...

I started out with a card this set was designed for, birthdays and I used only the set to create the card. The colour scheme is one WAY out of my comfort zone, but I think it's quite cheery :) Below is a close up of the gift and the added sparkle I added with glitter. The gift ribbon and polka dots are perfect for adding glitter and sparkle!

Next up is a male orientated card...

Again an unusual for me colour scheme, but it is fresh and zingy! This time I paired the gift with the polaroid frame from Strike a Pose! which I fussy cut out and mounted using foam adhesive. This time I added sparkle to the gift using the turquoise At You Spica Pen and stamped the sentiment onto a die cut banner.

Next I have two versions of an almost one layer card...

Another colourful and cheery card with lots of glitter! I say almost one layer card because the bow is stamped onto a separate piece of CS and fussy cut out and adhered to the card...

The second version of this card shows how this set can be used for other occasions and not just birthdays...

By simply changing the colours and sentiment to suit the occasion I created an almost one layer Christmas card.

That's all the cards I have to share with you today using this set, I hope it has given you some inspiration to revisit the set if you own it or revisit a set you have in your stash that is similar :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share and another A Stamp Set A Day post. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

A Stamp Set A Day - Sweet Baby

Hey & SUPER HAPPY MONDAY!

Today is the day I am scheduled to be induced and 'hopefully' get to meet my two little bundles of joy! I am probably already at the hospital by the time you are reading this and I promise to update you all here on the blog ASAP :) The news and photos will probably hit Facebook first so you can always get a first glimpse there (link in the side bar).

Anyway, not knowing how long I'm going to be in hospital or to settle into a routine once we get home, I thought I would do a daily feature here on the blog, in-between routine design team & challenge posts etc.

As today (for me) is all about babies I thought I'd kick things off with a focus on the recently released Sweet Baby Stamp Set.

And here is a couple projects using the set...

My first card today uses the Freshly Made Sketches layout seen HERE and below. I knew I wanted to keep the majority of layers of the sketch flat so over stamped the alphabet strip over the BABY words as I had the little bear coloured and cut out ready to be adhered using foam adhesive.

I'm pleased how this one turned out and my colour choice :) My next card is a colourful birthday card...

This time I mixed in Classic Alphabet and a sentiment from A Gift For you and turned to my go to trio of colours! A bit of Copic colouring on the little duck, looks like I'm out of practice with these!!

That's all the cards I have to share with you today using this set, I hope it has given you some inspiration to revisit the set if you own it or revisit a set you have in your stash that is similar :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share and another A Stamp Set A Day post. Until then, thank you for stopping by.

A Posy Of Roses

Hey & Happy Sunday!

Well, I've made it to 37 weeks without the beans making an appearance, now they need to stay in just a few more hours until we get to the hospital tomorrow!

Anyway, I've been in the studio this morning, enjoying some last minute card making, todays card is just one that I've created today...

A posy of roses in three shades of pink :) I used the current Crazy for CAS sketch seen HERE and below for my card.

Not much to explain about the card today as it's so clean & simple! Here's a close up of the detail...

Ok, that's all from me today, I'm off to make a few more cards! I'll be back tomorrow with the first of many scheduled posts to keep you entertained!! I might not get links on the Facebook page but they'll be here on the blog.

The next time I pop in with a non scheduled post will be to share some pics of the baby beans :) Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Simple Sympathy

Hey!

Well, another day closer to baby bean day & it sure has flown by! I'm super excited for Monday to come, but I am keeping rested, calm and relaxed, mainly by spending time in the studio creating. My husband won't let me do much else!

Anyway, today I have a simple sympathy card to share with you. It's among the hardest card making categories alongside masculine cards. I tend to keep things really simple like I have on this card...

This is for my bestie Kerry, who sadly grieving the loss of and said goodbye to her Nan the other day. I used Background Builders: Vines and the sentiment from Flower Power #1.

On a brighter note, I have prepared the September Class Kits which is taking place at The Paperlane on September 14th 11am - 2pm, with Caz. There are still places available and all the details on how to book are on the classes page. I've put a little sneak peek together of a few of the cards that you'll be making in the class, the theme this time is 'Cutting Techniques'.

That's all from me today, I'm off to make a couple more cards before I veg out in front of the TV! I'll be back tomorrow with another card to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Geometric LOVE

Hey & Happy Friday!

Well, I really don't know where this week has gone, it really has flown by and I can't believe I've only two more days to go before I meet the little bundles! I've certainly been making the most of the 'free' time lazing round the house, napping and watching TV shows while I can!

I've also spent time in the studio making cards, like the one I have to share with you all today...

Again I was inspired by two challenges, firstly the Geometric challenge over at Addicted to CAS HERE and the sketch over at "Less is More" HERE

As you can see I took a very loose interpretation of the sketch and I'm rather liking it! Whenever I'm stuck for a colour combo I always reach for these 3 colours, they make me happy :)

Ok, I'm off to enjoy some more time in the studio creating :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today.

TIME OUT Challenge - Inspired By Words

Hey!

Today is challenge #13 over at TIME OUT Challenges and we are back to being inspired by words, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

If music be the food of love, play on

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the words music and love, which resulted in this card...

I didn't think I had a music stamp but then remembered that one of the labels from Label Love: Christmas has music sheet on it. I used a sentiment from Flower Power #3 and the rose & leaves from Flower Power #6.

I used the current "Less is More" challenge sketch seen HERE and below for the layout of my card too.

Such a fun sketch :) Here's a close up of the detail on the card...

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Rosemary, be sure to stop by Rosemary's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Lucky Green

Hey!

Firstly, thank you to all of you for your kind comments & best wishes yesterday, they really mean a lot to me :)

Today I am back with a card using my favourite lucky green, Lucky Limeade from Stampin' Up! I'm not a big lover of the colour green when it comes to card making, but it has grown on me over the years and I have to say this shade is so vibrant and happy.

This card was inspired by the current challenge over at The Card Concept HERE and seen below. When I saw the inspiration photo I first thought of Pure Florals: Chrysanthemum for this card (maybe next time), but then changed my mind and decided to do some stamp building using the small & large leaves from Flower Power #6.

The sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #3, I can never have enough thank you cards! Here is a close up of the stamp building using the leaves...

Clean and simple plus short & sweet from me today! I'll be back tomorrow with a new TIME OUT Challenges card, so until then, thank you for stopping by today :)
