Bursting with colour

I have been playing with colour bursts and wanted to try out these vibrant colours with some Uniko designs.

I white embossed the beautiful butterfly from English Country Garden and combined it with colour bursts in blue and purple:

 

The embossing resists the colours - I love the way that they swirl and mix when sprayed with water!  Unfortunately, I didn't have time to flatten the card after it had got wet so it looks wavy here.  It really needed a night under something heavy but you get the idea :)

 

I tried the same technique with the chrysanthemum stamp.  The oranges, reds and yellows give the image definition.  I combined it with a sentiment from Originally Organic.

 

I hope you like the combination of bright colours with the white embossing.  It makes the images pop!

January 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

CAS Colours & Sketches #205

Hey!

Welcome back to another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. Karen is our hostess for the January challenges and this week Karen has a FABulous sketch seen HERE and below to get your creative juices flowing...

When I first saw the sketch, I thought to myself, 'what on earth am I going to use to get the splatter effect'? I've never been very good at getting random splatters to look perfect!

However, after a little thinking and staring into the mess that covers a large majority of my desk, I noticed the Heidi Swapp Minc supplies I bought a few months back and have hardly touched. They are still sat on my desk as I haven't 'organised' the perfect storage place (like many of my supplies). Included in my little haul was the Reactive Mist and I'd watched a video of Heidi using it when I'd ordered it and couldn't wait to try, but never got around to it until now.

Here's my take on the sketch...

What do you think? 

I think it turned out pretty cool :) I simply sprayed the Reactive Mist, which has quite a chunky spray  o it (I'm looking forward to trying to swap or decant the Reactive Mist into another spray bottle to achieve a finer mist) and sprayed it from quite a distance and still got large splat areas, but I am happy with them. After some air dry time and a little heat gun drying to speed it up I foiled it with the Rose Gold foil - yum! 

I then added a simple sentiment from Simply Said Birthday, stamped onto a strip of white CS and adhered to the card using foam adhesive. As I had foiled just a panel of CS, I mounted it all onto a Baja Breeze CS base.

One I Forgot to Share!

It's not very often that I make a card and forget to share it! Anyway, I did come across todays card on my camera, which I made back in November last year for CAS Colours & Sketches birthday challenge.

Here it is...

I didn't share it on that post or as a reminder for the challenge, because I felt it wasn't CAS enough. The challenge was a colour challenge and shades of blue, which I thought appropriate for a masculine card and one using geometrics - a good 'go to' choice for those pesky men ;)

I started by stamping the sentiment, which is a mix of All Occasion Sentiments #2 and Simply Said Birthday (partial stamped from On Your Birthday stamp). The large circles are from Background Builders: Round In Circles (back in stock in the next week or so). The smaller circles are from the recently retired Essentially Christmas clear stamp set. I finished the card off with a trio of enamel dots, which matched the colours perfectly.

Make a Wish...

Hey & Happy Sunday!

I do hope you are all having a lovely weekend and have found some time to craft. I had a little bit of unexpected 'bean free' time yesterday afternoon, so I took advantage and after a little power nap (it has to be done) I set to making a card just for fun.

I came across THIS card on Pinterest by Maile Belles. I love the layout of the card, the stamped roses from behind the angled panel. It reminded me of the rose image from Flower Power #6. 

I saw the new challenge over at "Less is More" HERE too, which this week is a colour week and they have chosen ombre. I was looking through my supplies and decided I would give my Copic markers a dust off to create my ombre background.

I chose a trio of pinks, RV10, RV13 and RV14. I used the chisel edge of the pen and worked from light to dark and then back to the lightest. It was a reasonably quick process. The roses are stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white EP. The mini rose and leaves are from Background Builders: Vines and the sentiment from Pure Florals: Cosmos. Other members of the Design Team will be popping in through the month with various projects to inspire you too. I hope you are pleased to see the return of this feature! Design Team Inspiration - a mix of stamping, heat embossing and water-coloring

Hello everyone this is Rahmat here.

I am up with a inspiration using Uniko's previously released sets. I used the Flower Power stamp set to make this card.

I have a step by step picture below to show you the process.

In the picture below are all the supplies I had used for this card.

The supplies used for this card

I started with a water color panel, and stamped the leafy stems using SU - wild wasabi.

Followed by stamping and heat embossing some flowers using the Zing copper embossing powder. Then I used the zig markers to add color to the flowers, and used a waterbrush to blend the colors in.

Once all the coloring was done, I added some green color to the background in random. The sentiment is stamped in the center from All Occasions sentiment - #6. I added an orange strip to the bottom, before adding the panel to the base. Used Hickory Smoke distress ink to add splatters, a few jewels and a twine to finish off.
