Mid Century Inspiration from Guest Brand Ambassador Amy Tsuruta

I'm absolutely delighted to be starting a new week with a wonderful Guest Brand Ambassador, the one and only, super lovely and super talented Amy Tsuruta. 

Hello! 

My name is Amy Tsuruta and I live in the United States in beautiful Washington state. I’m married to a great guy who is a hobby pilot.  I’ve been crafting for as long as I can remember but things turned serious in 2001 when I volunteered to be my youngest's Preschool Scrapbook Coordinator.  Truthfully, I had never scrapbooked at that point.  Scrapbooking quickly turned into stamping  and cardmaking.  The Papercrafting Community is amazing and I’m so happy to be a part of it.

Hello Friend.

I'm smitten with Uniko's Mid Century Modern Collection!

For my Hello Friend card I teamed up a Mid Century Modern color palette. The Background Blocks Linear have been heat embossed in gold on the pale pink panel. I layered a smaller spiced sider panel with an oval die cut. The sentiment from Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments has been heat embossed in gold on a dark brown strip.

Just Because.

I used the Ink & Flip Geometric Hexagon Layering Stencil on this project.  What an amazing stencil that is easy to line up with gorgeous results. 

I used distress oxides on 100 lb cardstock with blending brushes. The sentiment from Mid Century Modern Everyday Sentiments has been heat embossed in white on a green cardstock strip.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration: Some summery cards

 Hello everyone!

Happy Saturday!

I am back for Uniko Inspirations! Vinita here features 2 cards made with different stamps and a summery feel in my favourite blue colors.

Card 1

This card showcases a lot of mixing of stamps and a stencil in an abstract style. 

I started with a small rainbow using orange blossom archival ink and clouds in baby pink ink. I stamped one of the striped circles using Uniko Background Builders: Round in the circle stamp set in blue ink. And the solid leaves from the Just Because stamp set. A line of the beaded circles was added to the circle stamp set. 

The sentiment is from the Just Because stamp set. Ultimately, I added a strip of pink blings under my rainbow.

Card 2

This was so easy to make. I started with the Uniko Background Blocks Pinstripe stamp set in Cornflower Blue Archival ink on a white card sheet 2 times. Then stamped both solid and outlined monstera leaves in Momento Luxe Nautical blue ink on the striped background as shown in the below pic.

Added this to my blue CS. The sentiment is from the Remembrance stamp set.

Background Blocks 3 Ways & A Weekend Special

 Happy Friday 😃

Today I have a fun trio of cards showing you 3 ways to use our Background Blocks. I have also recorded a video for you AND I have a weekend special.

First let's have a look at the cards...

For this first card I used Background Blocks Splatter and used it as is, for an instant focal point. I enhanced the design by adding Flower Power #6 and the Happy Birthday sentiment from Floral Vines.

Next I dusted off Background Blocks Scattered Polka Dots.

This time I used the block partially to create this fun sentiment window. Again I embellished the design with the rose from Flower Power #6 and a partial stamped sentiment from Floral Vines. 

Lastly for my third card I chose Background Blocks Layered Stripes to create this fun Christmas card.

Here I masked off an elongated square to create a small gift. I added a bow from Mid Century Modern Wreath Builder to make it look like a gift and added the Merry Christmas sentiment from the same stamp set. 

Unintentionally I chose the same colour combo for each card, Poppy & Oceanside. I hope this trio of cards has given you some creative ideas and I'd love to know which is your favourite.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Beautiful Butterflies

Morning all, 

Happy to be here today with some Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration and I am absolutely in love with these combinations of Uniko stencils and gorgeous Uniko stamps.

Here I have used the inner stencil from the Uniko English Country Garden Butterflies stencil bundle. I have ink blended around the outside using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. Once dry I stamped the Uniko Pure Florals: Peony and a sentiment from Uniko Birthday Sentiments stamp set using black ink. Finally I added some Nuvo drops.

My next card uses the outer stencil from the Uniko English Country Garden Butterflies stencil bundle, this time using Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks. Again I have used the Uniko Pure Florals: Peony stamp and the sentiment is from the Uniko Birthday Sentiments stamp set. Again I have used some Nuvo drops to add interest to the right hand side of the butterfly. 

For my final card I have used the inner stencil from the Uniko Tropical Leaf #2 stencil set and ink blended with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide. To keep the Butterfly theme I used the Uniko English Country Garden - Butterflies stamp set and again the Uniko Birthday Sentiments stamp set for the sentiment.

I hope this has inspired you to grab the stencils and get inky.

Floral Friday - MOD Pure Florals Rose 🌹

Happy Floral Friday.

This week Pure Florals Rose is featured on The Card Of The Week and I've had this idea all week to combine the rose stamps with the Stencil - MOD Background Builder. So that's what I did...

It's been a while since I've used paste of any kind through a stencil, so I decided to reach for my favourite Moonstone Glimmer paste. I just love the sparkle of this stuff and it's also super smooth applying through stencils.

While the paste was drying, I set to stamping the smaller of the full roses. I started with the solid rose, inking with Sorbet and then using a sponge to apply Honeysuckle to areas. Once I was happy I overlayed the line rose to stamp the outline in Honeysuckle as well.

but 

For the leaves I stamped them in Evergreen ink and then created a negative mask, which was quite time consuming, but worth it for the inking with shades of Parsley & Sprout ink! To finish I chose a simple sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and a few Sorbet enamel dots.

Merry Monday, some more Christmas in July BA Inspiration

Good morning, Julie here with a few 'krafty' ideas for some Christmas makes. Here are my ideas using various Uniko stencils and stamps and kraft card.

I was looking through my stash the other day and came across a couple of panels of kraft card that I'd made a while ago and not used, so decided as my Christmas card pile is not what it should be, I should turn them into cards.

This first card started off as a stencilled panel using Winter Foliage stencil. I made it and used a snippet for this card back in 2022, so it's about time I used it!

I first secured the stencil to a panel of kraft card then inked through with Hero Arts Unicorn White pigment ink. Carefully removing the stencil so as not to smudge the ink, I set it aside to fully dry and washed the stencil. Using the white ink allows the dye ink I used after to pop off the kraft, otherwise it would soak into the card and be rather dull in comparison.

Once completely dry, I replaced the stencil over the panel and inked through with a mix of Evergreen Bough DI for the holly leaves, Festive Berries DI for the berries and Mowed Lawn DI for the ivy leaves. The evergreen sprigs were a mix of both greens. My pine cones were inked with Ground Espresso DI.

To make this card, I cut the panel into two, and attached it to a kraft base card, for sparkle a strip of red glitter paper was added and finally a sentiment embossed with gold EP.

This second card uses the smaller of the two panel pieces, glued to a red base card, a thin strip of gold mirror card and a large heat embossed sentiment in gold.

Finally I had a sentiment panel that had gone wrong, the top half was smudged but I didn't throw it away, just cut the messy section away and trimmed it to form the central panel of my card.

Trying to think what to do with the piece I had left, I went looking through my ideas folder and found this.

No name so I can't link back but I also found this by our old BA Hannelie, here, so mine is a bit of a mashup!

I found some tape in my stash, Lidl I do believe, and cut a triangle from the sentiment panel. Here is one using blue that I made at the same time. It's so easy to make loads at the same time as arranging the small individual sentiments does take some time, even in a MISTI! The tape was wrapped around a panel of kraft then the center panel added over on pads, a simple punched white card star and gold embossed sentiment completes.

Stencil Sunday BA Inspiration - Christmas in July

 Bonjour !

Izzy here with 3 Christmas cards inspiration made with 1 foil, 3 stencils and 4 inks pads.

From seeing Christmas in July cards everywhere, I decided to give it a try and I chose to use summer bold colours such as red, pink, green and gold (for the sun we are missing here !).

I will start the show with the MOD Background builder Circles stencil.

First I placed the stencil on a white card stock and I started with the pink colour by masking all the other parts and I repeated the same operation for the other colours. 

For the gold foiled parts, I first applied some transfer gel and I let it dry. When clear, I put some gold foil on the concerned parts and I ran it through the hot laminator. I flat adhered this panel on a gold double card.

To finish, I stamped and I gold heat embossed a sentiment, from the Simply Said II set, on a stripe of white card stock and I glued it on the card.

As I loved the colours of the first card, I decided to go on with them and this time, I played with 

the Flower Power #1 stencil. 

I first die cut a stitched square in a white card stock. I placed the stencil on top and I applied the 4 inks. I flat adhered the panel on a double green card.

As for the sentiment from the Christmas Wishes set, I stamped it on a white card stock with no-line colouring ink, then with a glue pen I wrote on top of it. I put a piece of gold foil on top and ran it brought the hot laminator. 

To finish, I fussy cut the sentiment and I glued it on the card.

For my last card, I used the Scandinavian Christmas stencil for the background and the Big and Bold Happy Designer die for the sentiment.

With mini applicators, I inked the different shapes figuring on the stencil except for the stars that I filled with transfer gel and I let it dry. Once dry I covered the stars with gold foil and I ran it through the hot laminator.

I die cut the Happy word in a gold mirror paper and I stamped the Christmas word with pink ink on a stripe of white card stock.

To finish, I flat adhered the background panel on a pink double card, and I glued the sentiments on top.
