Baby Wipes?!

Hey!

Sorry for being MIA yesterday, I had a REALLY disturbed night with the 'lil beans. They were going CrAzY all night making me feel sick and I got little sleep. I did get a bit done during the day, but mainly making a dent in the amount of wedding invites to be done for Karl's cousin!

Anyway, they must have worn themselves out and I had a much better night last night, hence lots of card making in the studio :) Mainly cards for the class kits on Saturday at The Paperlane. This will be my last class 'teaching' until October, though I will be supplying kits to Caz for August & September that Caz will teach.

I've had a little play with a new to me technique, baby wipe stamping which I came across HERE. To say that I am impressed is an understatement and I really like the results.

This was my first card using the technique. Don't the flowers look HAPPY & a little psychedelic? All the colours & stamps I've used are listed below in the supplies.

OK, I had better carry on whilst I've some energy & the 'lil beans are fairly quiet! If you want to explore this technique more we will be having a go at it in the classes on Saturday - I'd LOVE you to join me if you're in the area. If not the video I linked to above has all the details!

That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow along with the Design Team for a Revisited Blog Hop - I hope you will join in on the FUN :) Until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Lots of Colour!

Hey!

Firstly I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and understanding re: my tiredness and current condition, it truly means a lot to me :)

Secondly after all the napping and an early night I felt much more refreshed today and was able to accomplish a few more things around the house in preparation for the 'lil beans and also spent some time with a few old work friends catching up. Plus this evening I've had the energy & a little mojo to create todays card...

I've used a lot more colour and very little white than I normally would on a card, but I still feel that as I've kept the elements minimal to a degree it still looks CAS. I was inspired by the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below and using SO many colours is certainly a challenge, but that's what they're all about after all!

Surprisingly I am now off to watch the World Cup! I have gotten into it this time round and I watch it whilst doing my knitting!

Anyway, it's a quiet day tomorrow with no excursions or plans, so I hope to spend quite a bit of time here in the studio, fitting in the normal lunchtime nap of course! So until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by & again for all your lovely comments & understanding :)

Sparkly Hummingbird

Hey & Happy Monday!

Another weekend has flown by and I really don't know where the time is going! Sunday saw me at 29 weeks pregnant and I thought I'd share a selfie I took on Saturday morning...

I'm getting quite a large bump now & things are getting quite awkward at times! Today I have been totally wiped out, I was only up 3 hours before I needed a nap and I hadn't really done anything to wear myself out. Hence my lateness in creating a card & posting today...

I made this simple sparkly hummingbird card this evening. The bright colours have certainly lifted my spirits and energy levels slightly. I chose to work with the Paradise - Hummingbird stamp set as I feel it has been some what neglected since it's release & I decided to pair it with Background Builders: Chevrons which has also seen some neglect!

This creation fits perfectly into the "Just Us Girls" challenge seen HERE. It's been AGES since I joined in with the challenges over there and they've changed the layout a little. This week your creation is inspired by words and the word is BIRD.

That's all from me today, I think it'll be an early night and hopefully I'll have a bit more energy tomorrow to accomplish a few tasks in the studio! Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

[Uniko Studio Challenge] #11 Revisited - Guest Designer Shirley

Hello everyone!

Today we have our winner of Challenge #10 and guest designer Shirley from Shirley - bee's stamping stuff with us to share a reminder project for Challenge #11:

Hello, I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Uniko Studio for their Challenge #11, Birthday using this fabulous colour palette:

As part of my prize for winning Challenge #10, I chose the Paradise Hummingbird set.  I googled hummingbird images and was inspired by this painting, and how the splattered paint implied fast movement.

I can't resist a bit of splattering and sloshing outside the lines, so I set to with the Distress Inks (Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn) and a paintbrush.  I inked the flower stamps with Seedless Preserves, spritzed and stamped, then repeated with Dusty Concord to get the two-tone look on the flowers.

Oh, and I added some Wink of Stella to imply iridescence on the feathers and a tiny AB crystal for the eye.

So come and play - you could be a winner and get the opportunity to guest design too!

You have until July 14th 09:00 UK time, to link your card up below. The Challenge Rules:

  • Winners will be announced by July 17th

TIME OUT Challenges - Inspired By Words

Hey!

Today is challenge #9 over at TIME OUT Challenges and we are back to being inspired by words, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

Fun in the Sun

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the whole caption and this is how I translated it on to my card...

I used Accent Essentials: Arrows to create a sunburst effect in opposite corners. I used my new WPlus9 inks :) I then used Classic Alphabet to create the word 'Enjoy', as usually when something is fun you enjoy it?! and the word today is from Today, Tomorrow & Always Time. I've then mounted the stamped panel using foam adhesive onto a black card base for added impact.

This fortnight we have a lovely guest designer joining us, Carol, be sure to stop by Carol's blog HERE to see how she was inspired by the photo and of course the FABulous TIME OUT Challenges Design Team...

For all the info and to link up your challenge be sure to stop by the TIME OUT Challenges blog. I look forward to seeing your creations :) I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today.

Congratulations Bestie!

Hey!

I'm here a little later than planned today, this morning I treated myself to a lovely pedicure and after lunch a little nap! Yesterday afternoon I was back at the hospital for a check up scan and all is well & good. The 'lil beans are growing well and after a thorough scan by the consultant they both measure 2 pounds 10 ounces!

Yesterday was filled with good news as after my appointment I had a text from my bestie Kerry, saying she had got the job she had interviewed for that day. So I needed a Congratulations card and this is what I have made for her...

Now, you're getting a really early sneaky sneak peek at a couple of August Release stamps on this card! I couldn't resist using them as they are sat on my desk waiting for me to make my samples. (Getting ahead of schedule BIG time in case these 'lil beans make a surprise appearance!).

I used a combination of my new Avery Elle pigment inks and Memento Luxe inks on this card and a combination of Background Builders: Vines & Flower Power #5.

That's all from me today I must crack on and get a couple of things done before tea. Having a nap sure takes up time but it was much needed! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

One Layer Note

Hey!

I made time this morning to sit, relax and create, as this afternoon I am back at the hospital for a check up. One of the 'lil beans hadn't grown as much as the other at last weeks scan and they were laid awkwardly so they decided to bring me back a week early.

Anyway, I saw Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge seen HERE and below on Facebook last night and when I saw the butterflies I had a 'lil tiny bit of mojo return.

I know that on a sketch the elements don't have to be the shape as seen on the sketch, but sometimes a literal interpretation is the way forward and gets the creativity flowing...

I chose three of my new WPlus9 ink colours and used a simple masking technique to stamp the butterflies & sentiment. I then added a little bit of glitter for that added sparkle and no bulk to create a one layer note card.

A simple & quick design which would be easy to mass produce to create a gift set of note cards in varying colours. That's all from me today, but I will be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by today :)
