Introducing... Uniko Studio Designer Dies!

The April 2013 Release sees the launch of the BRAND NEW Uniko Studio Designer Dies! The first set of dies to be launched coordinate perfectly with the previously released BRIGHT Butterflies clear stamp set.

This might not be NEW news to you as they've been in use on the blog here for a week or so now! Today they get a little introductory spotlight not only by me but by some of the Uniko Studio Design Team & also by April's Guest Designer... Taheerah! 

Both my cards today use the 'negative' die cutting technique which is trending at the moment in paper crafts...

For this first little 10.5 cm square card I emphasised the negative space by adhering some patterned paper to the base card & adhering the die cut mat layer with foam adhesive. 

My next card switches the negative die cut with patterned paper around...

Making cards using the negative die cutting technique creates left over die cuts to use on future projects  so there is no waste. If your anything like me no paper crafting scraps are thrown out and so the little layered butterfly was created! This little butterfly has already been assigned to a project so you'll be seeing her again soon!

This technique of negative die cutting makes creating a CAS card quick & easy with only a few supplies required. Perfect for Clean & Simple challenges like the one HERE at Addicted to Stamps & More! All the supplies I've used today are listed below.

Sneak Peeks Day 3

I'm so happy that you've stopped by today & are joining in on the April 2013 Release Party! I'm back today with the last few peeks at the products being released this month...

Peek 6 is related to Peek 5 that I shared yesterday, it's of a NEW digital paper collection that features 6 funky designs in a lovely Stampin' Up! colour combination! 

Peek 7 is the next stamp set in the Pure Florals series! Yep, I've been taking note of all the requests for more floral stamp sets! This set has been a labour of love but I'm sure you'll LOVE it as much as I do! 

Todays last peek is a coordinating Digital Paper Collection to the Pure Florals stamp set peek above. It features 3 fabulous designs in 6 Stampin' Up! colours.

Sneak Peek Day 2

I can't believe it's time to share the April 2013 Sneak Peeks! 

We're shaking things up here at Uniko Studio for this release & future releases here at Uniko Studio! We have a NEW schedule leading up to release day...

Introducing... from Saturday 6th - Monday 10th April - Here you'll get to see the soon to be released products in action here on the blog & also some of the Design Team will have a project to share using the NEW products! 

Release Day! Tuesday 11th April you will get to see all the products in their entirety and purchase them HERE on the website! As tradition holds there will be a Design Team Blog Hop in which ONE lucky person who comments along the hop will win the ENTRIE April Release! 

Now, you won't want to miss out on any of the fun from the 5th - 11th April as I will be drawing totally random winners for mystery prizes! This second Sneak Peek is the first in a new series of stamp sets coming your way by customer request!  This new clear stamp set packs a punch, featuring sentiments for a variety of occasions in fabulous fonts and in a larger scale.

Moments...

Not only do days pass so quickly but moments too and the sentiment on the card I have to share today is too true...

A bit late to join in on the current CAS(E) this Sketch challenge seen HERE and below but it was a great sketch! I am however, joining in on the return to using vellum & using patterned paper trend! 

I rarely use either vellum or patterned paper on my creations & usually find both really hard to incorporate. However, this evening this card came together really easily & relatively quickly! Below is a close up of the card detail...

I used the 'blank' Washi stamp from Wonderful Washi Christmas to create the patterned Washi ribbons, stamping them onto Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze DP & cutting them out. I used the same DP to die cut a layered BRIGHT Butterfly. All other supplies are listed below the post.

Butterflies, Butterflies & More Butterflies!

So today I have mainly caught up on housework which has been neglected for a couple of days & the ironing pile was growing into a mountain so it needed to be tackled! I also did some baking, caught up on a few TV series & had a good old general Saturday.

I was sitting here in the lounge mooching around blog land on my laptop and thought I'd share a few cards that you might not have seen using BRIGHT Butterflies...

Deanna Dean created this first card which was featured on Seize the Birthday challenge blog last week. It's Uniko Studio's last week of sponsoring the challenge blog for the month of March. You've 2 days left to enter the current challenge HERE. 

Deanna has combined BRIGHT Butterflies clear stamp set with one of the papers from Super FREE Saturday BRIGHT Butterflies. I love the simplicity of this card, it works well with the BRIGHT butterfly & sentiment placement.

This next card by Lynn Hayes was also featured on Seize the Birthday challenge blog last week. Such a soft & pretty card. 

Below is one more card created by Jen Nelson, also for Seize the Birthday challenge blog last week...

Jen has used Eclectic Mix Spring along with the BRIGHT Butterflies. I really like the stitched sentiment panel.

All these girls did a fabulous job showcasing the set & fussy cutting all those butterflies out! That will soon be a chore no more when the NEW Designer Dies BRIGHT Butterflies are released on April 11th!

Friday = Good!

Happy Good Friday & Bank Holiday Weekend!

I hope everyone's Easter holiday has got off to a GOOD start. Mine has which started with a lazy lay in bed, then we crossed off one job on the 'get stuff done' list which was to alter the desks in the studio and after a little more organising I made this card...

I started out with the current ColorQ challenge colours seen HERE and below. I then looked at my Uniko Studio stamps and decided to use a chevron from Wonderful Washi Christmas & Pair it with Label Love: Birthday. 

Usually I go for straight lines horizontally or vertically & rarely digress, but I decided to add some sloping angles to my chevrons and also my focal point. I'm pleased I stepped out of my comfort zone as I really like the result! 

Tomorrow is another day of relaxation & a spot of studio Spring Organising! I will before this Easter holiday is over share a little photo tour of the studio, so you all get to peek at where I spend most of my days!
