Stencil Sunday

Bonjour !

It's Izzy here with a Stencil Sunday at Uniko.

As my dear teamy Wiebke was mentioning it in her last Brand Ambassador Inspiration post, Christmas is coming soon and you just realised that your Christmas card stock is not very thick !

I think that stencils are a very interesting product since it may enable you to make several cards with only one stencilling.

Today I've made three cards with one stencil but with different techniques. For two of them I did not used the whole stencilled panel in order I can make more cards with the left over. The stencil I used is my favourite from last year December release : In the Forest.

My first card is very simple and quick to make. I inked through the stencil with Opalite inks over a black double card. These inks are reflective so that you can only see them on dark card stock. I die cut the sentiment in a glittery paper and I glued it on the card. A very masculine card.

For my second card, I played with alcohol inks ! On Yupo paper I made a panel with three different greens and I let it dry. Once dry I lifted the ink through the stencil thanks to a foam applicator and some drops of Alcohol Lift-Ink solution. I cut the panel to cover only one half of the card. On a white  card stock I stamped the sentiment from the Big & Bold - Merry set in black and I fussy cut it. I glued it on the card and I stamped the rest of the sentiment in red. If you come on my blog tomorrow, you will see the card I made with the other part of this stencilled panel. 😉

For my final card, I used this stencil to make kind of Bokeh effect. First I blended very softly with a brush two Distress inks on a white card stock. Then, I inked through the stencil with the same inks and a foam applicator. I wiped my stencil with a paper towel, turned it over and slightly offset, and I inked again through it with white ink. I cut one third of the stencilled panel (again I will be able to make more cards with the rest) and matted it on silver paper then I adhered it on the double white card. On a white card stock, I stamped and white heat embossed the tree from the Rustic Christmas set, then I used the embossed resist technique to blend over the two Distress inks previously used for the stencilled panel. I fussy cut it and I foam mounted it on the card. The sentiment from the Simply Said Christmas (retired) set is stamped with silver ink.

Whatever the technique you use, the stencils are just fabulous and give you endless possibilities. If you are looking for Christmas stencils, you can find the following ones on the Uniko shop HERE.
