They're BACK!

Hey! Happy Friday - YAY!

If you missed the newsletter or announcement on Facebook yesterday evening you might be happy to hear that there have been a few restocks over on the website. A few old FAVES including Background Builders: LatticePure Florals: Gerbera and BRIGHT Butterflies along with a NEW favourite Background Builders: Vines

I decided to ink up and combine a couple of the restocked sets for todays card...

Yep, it's Lattice & Vines! A great combo, even if I do say so myself! I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below for a starting point and reached for a few colours I wouldn't normally use.

Here is a close up of the detail...

Short & sweet again tonight, the June Release arrived in the studio today & I am itching to ink a couple of the sets up before an early night! Be sure to stop by the blog over the weekend as tomorrow it's The Saturday Show and on Sunday we have the May Design Team Blog Hop and we're revisiting a FAB set and there is a GIVEAWAY too :) Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.

TIME OUT Challenge - Inspired By Words

Hey!

Today is challenge #5 over at TIME OUT Challenges and we are back to being inspired by words, the phrase for this fortnights challenge is...

Time Flies, Love Lasts

What do these words inspire you to create? I was inspired by the 'Time Flies' part of the phrase and went along the masculine route...

I combined a couple of other challenges along with the TIME OUT theme to bring this card together. Firstly I used the CAS - Colours and Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below...

I was also inspired by the current Addicted to CAS challenge HERE which is grunge. As you can see I did a CAS style of grunge!

As you can see from this close up of my card below I used the Today, Tomorrow & Always Time clear stamp set and combined it with Stampin' Up! Off the grid. I started out by stamping the pocket watch and then masked it off before stamping the grid, trio of circles and sentiment.

I hope I've inspired you to join in on the fun over at TIME OUT Challenges, the team & I would love for you to join in :) Be sure to stop on by the blog HERE for all the details and for more FABulous inspiration from the team.

That's all from me today, I'll be back tomorrow with more to share & until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

A Colourful Thank You

Hey!

Seriously where are the seconds, minutes, hours and days going?! Time is flying by here at the moment, but I did manage to squeeze in a little crafty time to make this one layer colourful thank you card...

I used the new ColorQ challenge colours seen HERE and below which are a beautiful combination and a combination I wouldn't have selected myself.

I needed to make this thank you card for a friend I am meeting up with tomorrow as they were beyond kind and let Karl and I stay in their flat on our recent trip to London. My friend loves  geometric patterns and florals and decided to combine the two.

Another short & sweet post from me today, it's nearly tea time and I had better muster some energy to get the tea cooking so hubby has something to eat when he gets in! I'll be back again tomorrow with the next TIME OUT Challenge information, be sure to stop by then for all the details. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

Hello!

Hey!

I'm slowly getting back into the 'work' groove after a lovely few days in London with my husband and a relaxing May Bank Holiday Weekend here at home. I squeezed in a little card making this afternoon before I walk out to the Post Office and enjoy the sunshine a bit more before it disappears - rain is on it's way tomorrow :(

As I've been absent for a few days I thought a 'Hello' card would do nicely! I paired the Hello from All Occasion Sentiments #1 with some leaves & ditsy florals from Background Builders: Vines (back in stock this week).

I used the current CAS - Colours and Sketches challenge colours seen HERE and below for my colour combination, it just happens to be a favourite!

Here's a little close up of the detail...

Ok, short & sweet from me this afternoon, walking to the Post Office takes me a little longer these days! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share as I've lots to do in the studio tomorrow with Saturday's class prep at The Paperlane (spaces still available!).

Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today :)

[Uniko Studio Challenge] No. 9 Revisited - Guest Designer Christine Coster

Hello everyone! We have our guest designer Christine from Popppaea Cards with us today to share with us her project:

Hi everyone!  I am honoured and slightly terrified to have been asked to write a guest post for Uniko as the winner of their last challenge.  I have only recently started to take part in challenges and have been absolutely overwhelmed by how supportive my fellow crafters are, with so many lovely people taking the time to comment on all the blogs out there, offering praise and encouragement.

The latest challenge for Uniko is themed Easter with a gorgeous spring colour pallet.  For my card I have once again pulled out my favourite Uniko stamp set - Pure Florals: Gerbera.  I love how versatile this stamp set is as you have the outline as well as the solid  stamp which you can use together or separately to create so many different effects and styles.

I went clean and simple, using the outline stamp of the flower and the smaller leaf.  I have used Spectrum Noir pens to shade and have hand drawn the border to frame the image.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

If you haven’t entered a Uniko challenge before I thoroughly recommend it.  Uniko has some really unique designs and if you don’t own a stamp set yet, you can still take part using the free downloads available at the shop site.  The challenge itself is there to inspire you to create and to try something different - I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

One final thing - thank you to everyone at Uniko for giving me this opportunity to guest design, it has been a great experience,

Christine x

CAS(E) this Sketch! Guest Designer

* This is my second post for the day, don't forget to check out the BONUS Design Team Blog Hop winner post earlier to see if you were the lucky winner!*

Hey,

I was super excited to win CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge a few weeks ago HERE with THIS card and was surprised but beyond thrilled to be contacted by the lovely Chrissy to be guest designer for this weeks challenge. Of course I jumped at the chance and said yes.

This weeks sketch is fun and can be interpreted SO many different ways...

but I went with a literal interpretation making a modern masculine birthday card...

I used the Dynamic Duo challenge colours again, even though it's too late to enter. I think the colours a modern and fresh, not necessarily those you would reach for when making a masculine themed card.

I used one of the building stamps from Background Builders: Round In Circles, bending it into a wave shape on my block before stamping in the trio of colours. I then stamped the sentiment from A Gift For You before adding some SU! Candy Dots to the large dots along the waves on the yellow & aqua lines for a touch of added interest.

Be sure to stop on by HERE for all the challenge details plus lots more inspiration from the CAS(E) this Sketch! DT.

That's all from me today, I will be back on Saturday with a scheduled post for you. I'm taking a short break away in London to celebrate my husbands birthday and also our last little getaway before the little beans arrive! I will be back here on the blog on Sunday with something new to share with you. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)
