Uniko Birthday Inspiration Through The Years - Part 3

Happy Friday.

Welcome to day 7 of the Uniko 13th Birthday Celebrations and part 3 of my Inspiration Through The Years. If you missed part 1 and part 2 you can catch up HERE and HERE.

Today I am sharing three cards using a product from 2018, 2019 and 2020. I've then made a new card inspired by the original.

Let's have a look.

First up is Kindness Blooms, which released in February 2018. I remember making this card and I loved creating the polka dot background and the fussy partial cutting.

So for my updated card I decided to do something similar.

I started by stamping the trio of large loopy blooms along the edge of my card, once the ink was dry I cut along to create this fun edge.

I then set to using the small circle/dot stamp to create the multicoloured polka dot background on my base card. The loopy flower layer is adhered using foam tape.

My sentiment choice is from Birthday Sentiments, which was released the same month. I think I love this fresh take on my original card.

Next up is 2019 and the year Uniko's most popular, ever growing and still highly sort after collection was released, the one and only Mid Century Modern Collection.

Two of the first 4 products released in May 2019 were Mid Century Modern Florals and Background Blocks Mid Century Modern, which I decided upon to use on my card today.

I don't think I will ever tire using this collection! There are so many creative options and colour combinations. I started by using the Mid Century Modern background, stamping it in Pebble ink.

I then added some 'flowers' stamped in Harbor, Honeysuckle, Sorbet, Buttercup and Sprout. My sentiment is from Birthday Wishes which also debuted in the same release.

Lastly for today is another super popular collection that was released in February 2020, my take on Art Deco.

This collection features Anniversarie Arts Decoratifs, Background Blocks Arts Decoratifs and Background Builders Arts Decoratifs. Since this original release I have added a Christmas version of the background block and I am always thinking of more to add!

Here's how I used the collection today...

I went for the clean and simple look today, using 3 of the background builder patterns to create a focal point. I then added some colour and a sentiment from the collection. A little bit of bling finished my card off.

I know the Background Builders is currently out of stock, it'll be back soon!

That's all from me today. I hope that you have enjoyed the inspiration today and this little look back at Uniko's past. I will have more to share in this mini series throughout the month.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Holiday Memories

 Bonjour !

Izzy here. In order to make the holiday longer, in my mind at least, I made three cards representing what they looked like.

I'm not wrong if I say that for everybody, this summer has been very hot and sunny. And we were lucky enough to spend our holidays far from all the fires that occured. We were on a little island where the bicycle is a principle. So we parked our car when arriving and we used only our bicycles for the rest of the week...

For this card I used the Background Blocks Rays from the last release for the sun rays. Then I used the Background Builders Arts Décoratifs to represent the blue sea and the grass.

We cycled between the vineyards and the salt marshes and we visited the small villages full of flowers, and among other things with magnificent passion flowers...

For this second card I used the beautiful set Passiflora. I stamped the leaves and the different parts of the flower on white card stock and I cut them with the matching dies.

Paddle, walks and ice creams were also part of our daily life...

I used some of the images of the Block Party Summer to make this last card. I stamped and white embossed them on white card stock and I coloured them with colour pencils. I also used the Background Blocks Nautical Stripes that I stamped in blue shades. I foam mounted it on a white card. To finish I fussy cut the images and I adhered them on top.

I hope that you too enjoyed your summer break as well as these inspirational cards.
Thanks so much for visiting Uniko !

Happy New Year!

Hello & Happy 2021!

I hope you all had fun welcoming in the New Year, although it may have been different from other years.

For us it was a (fairly) quiet one. Hubby & I were done at 10:30 and could have easily gone to bed - haha! BUT, I promised The Beans they could stay up late and they set the time at midnight to see in the New Year.

They were more awake than we were at midnight, but although I was ready for them AND me to go to bed shortly after the light show / fireworks on the TV from London, it felt special to welcome the New Year in as a family.

We managed a lay in till 9am, which wasn't too bad and we had a lovely slow and relaxed day. Mainly because everyone is tired!

I am not setting New Years resolutions, I didn't last year. I do however set goals and although the events of 2020 through some of last years to the wind, one that I made last year was to use brighter colours in my creations and here are my colours of the year seen below. I think brighter colours are a little more prominent than last year. I think there is still room for improvement!

Again, I am setting myself personal and business goals. One of my goals is to make time for all the things I enjoy and love doing. And as you have probably guessed, it is to make time to enjoy making cards, stamping, playing with colour and all things paper crafts!

Today I did just that, I spent time making two New Year cards. One I am sharing HERE on the website blog and this one here...

I was packing up some orders yesterday morning and one of the sets was Background Builders Arts Decoratifs. I loved designing this set, yet I have hardly inked it up since February 2020 :( So inking one of the stamp from the set was my first inspiration. The sentiment is a mix of Happy Succulents and Simply Said II.

Secondly I was inspired by Pantone's colours of 2021, yellow and grey. So I used these as my colour combo. The layout is similar to THIS New Year card from 2018!

The remainder of the afternoon was spent making cupcakes with The Beans. They have been requesting to make Goomba and Caterpillar cupcakes for the past few days and with a lot of the treats eaten, it was a good time to make some more!

It's an early night for everyone tonight. Be sure to hop on over to the website blog HERE to see the other New Year card I made.

AND in case you missed it yesterday...

Wishing you all a wonderful, happy, healthy and creative 2021.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Invitation au voyage

 Bonjour !

Izzy here. For you who have not gone on vacation or for you who already wish to leave again, I invite you today to follow me on this trip.

We will start our cruise aboard a beautiful sailboat ...

For this card I used the Nautical Treasures set for the sailboat and the compass rose. I stamped in dark blue the sailboat on a stitched square card stock as well as the small compass and the sentiment stamped in red.

To make the large white panel background, I used the Anchors stencil to emboss. Then I used the Background Blocks Pinstripe to make the thin stripe panel behind the sailboat.

The winds being favorable, we will not take long to reach the Pacific Ocean and its islands with a tropical climate.

For this second card, I used one of the Background Builders Arts Décoratifs stamp to illustrate the wave on the ocean. I simply blended three blue Distress oxide inks shades on a white panel, and once dry I repeatedly stamped and white heat emboss the waves.

For the hibiscus flower and leaves I used the Paradise and Paradise Leaves that I stamped with Altenew inks on a white card stock and I white heat embossed the outlines before fussy cut the images.

In order to see these magnificent flowers more closely, we will dock on one of the islands.

I get inspired by Yana Smakula's recent post to make this card. I stamped the hibiscus flowers around the edges of a white panel then with some masks, I stamped the leaves. I coloured them with Copic Markers. I also coloured the background and then I stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment which comes from the Sentiments Outlines set. To finish I flat adhered this panel on a double white card.

I hope you enjoy this little virtual journey as much as I enjoyed making these cards. Thanks so much for visiting Uniko !

Take care and have fun crafting safely at home !
