Hugs

Hello & Happy Thursday,

Although this week has gone quicker than the last two, January already feels like a year! I don't know about you, but personally I have sought out hugs this week for warmth (it's cold with minus temps) and for comfort, for those January blues.

This in turn has inspired my card...

Sunshine & Rainbows has been on my list for a while as a stamp set to give some fresh inky love to, so that's what I reached for first. I went for some non traditional rainbow colours, Peacock, Stardust and grapefruit and a non white card base, Dove.

Back to some fussy cutting again, but the rainbow arches aren't as difficult as they look. I did some tone on tone stamping for the clouds before adhering the rainbow.

The BIG & BOLD Hugs is stamped and embossed in white before I fussy cut the word out. I adhered using foam tape and then finished with the Sending sentiment stamped in a slightly darker grey, VersaFine Clair Morning Mist.

So if you are in need of a hug, this ones for you.

Mid Century Modern Hugs!

 Hello & Happy Thursday!

How are we almost in mid January, already?! The days seem to be just flying by like crazy for me. Lots keeping me busy in the studio from organising restocks, prepping for our first show of 2022 (Stamperama Newcastle, designing new things, a new website AND prepping Uniko's BIG 10th Birthday Bash next month!

However, with all that, I have been able to sneak in a little creative time 😉  I was packaging some stamps today, one of the sets was Mid Century Modern Florals and a card design popped into my head. So before I forgot, I got to making it...

It's been a while since I built a flower using this set and this is one of my favourite combinations. I layered the fussy cut floral with the Background Block Mid Century Modern, which I have stamped through a circle negative mask.

The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks II, which I have stamped twice and trimmed to create two separate sentiment blocks.

Short(ish) and sweet from me today because, as I am typing this The Beans are in the bath and most likely I will find two whales have magically been in there with them and splashed water everywhere!

Until next time, Crafty Hugs

CAS Colours & Sketches #276 - Sketch

Hey!

Welcome back to week 2 of June. This month at CAS Colours & Sketches and Wei is our hostess.  This week HERE Wei has a fun clean and simple sketch to spark your card making...

So many ideas for this sketch, but limited time meant that I went for the super quick option of creating a window for my sentiment and some simple stencilling.

I used a MFT die to create the window and used the 'Sending Hugs' sentiment from Simply Said Blocks II. I then used my Uniko Scattered Polka Dot stencil to create a fun trio of coloured polka dots, moving the stencil slightly for each colour.

That's all from me today, I hope thatI have inspired you to join in on the challenge?! If you need a little more inspiration, pop on over HERE to see what the CC&S Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Hugs

Hey!

I'm back with another scheduled post and another floral card to share with you...

I started out by masking off a small section on a white mat layer and stamped some chevrons in black ink. I then stamped the blooms and leaves from Beautiful Blooms onto white CS and fussy cut them out. Before I adhered them permanently I positioned them with temporary adhesive so that I could make sure there was enough room & position the sentiment from Flower Power #1.

That's all from me today, be sure to pop back tomorrow as we have the September Design Team Blog Hop. We will be revisiting not one but THREE stamp sets and as tradition holds they will be up for grabs just by commenting along the hop!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Soft Neutral Blooms

Hey!

How's everyones weekend?

It's been a scorcher here in the UK and I'm loving the sunshine :) even though I spent most of the day yesterday indoors demoing with Uniko Studio clear stamps and dies and running a class at The Paperlane I still had a FABulous day (Thank You Ladies) and even enjoyed my lunch in the sun :)

I thought I'd share another card we made in the class...

We used some soft neutrals to stamp the Beautiful Blooms and used a little bit of masking to stamp the leaves peeking from behind the large bloom. A simple sentiment, bit of dimension by adhering the smaller bloom with foam adhesive and some bling to finish the card.

Short & Sweet again from me today, I'm spending time with my hunny & enjoying the glorious weather! I'll be back tomorrow afternoon with more to share :)

I hope you all have a lovely day & thank you for stopping by today.

Monday Mums...

Happy Monday!

I'm sorry I left you all hanging over the weekend, I decided to take a  bit of 'time out' to get to grips with  things, mainly my emotions.

So onto a fresh start and new week ahead and lots of projects to share...

I created todays card using the NEW Fusion Challenge combo seen HERE and below. I LOVE the colours in the inspiration photo and had to use them for a lovely bold Chrysanthemum. It was quite a job fussy cutting the bloom out (not for much longer *wink*).

I added some die cut leaves to for the 'swirl' in the sketch and a simple sentiment from Flower Power #1.

I've already created another card using the inspiration photo in my head, so you'll be seeing that before the challenge ends!

Short & Sweet from me today, much to be done since I took 'time out'! Thanks for stopping by & for your comments, they are much appreciated.

Power Of The Flower!

Hey!

Today I'm sharing a card that I've made for the NEW Runway Inspired Challenge seen HERE and below...

As soon as I saw the inspiration photo my card was already made in my head! I knew exactly what supplies I was going to use and this is how it turned out...

Don't you just love it when a card idea turns out just how you saw it in your head?! I started out by stamping the leaves & stem from Flower Power #1 in a line, overlapping the stems to create a seamless pattern. I repeated the process on both sides of the card.

I then stamped the smallest graphic flower from Time in VersaMark and embossed it in Cosmic Shimmer White EP (Love this stuff!) and fussy cut them out (soon to be a thing of the past *wink*). I also embossed the sentiment onto a die cut banner, adhering this flat to the card. The flowers are adhered using foam adhesive to add some dimension.

This design would look just as FAB in colour as it does in black & white! A little tip for you: To help stamp & overlap the stems I drew a faint pencil line onto my card base.

I hope you've enjoyed todays card as much as I enjoyed making it! Until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today.
