Hello March & Happy St Davids Day

Hello, Happy Friday & Happy St Davids Day.

Firstly, thank you for all the support, comments and lovely orders during February. You really made Uniko's 12th Birthday one to remember. Secondly, I need to extend my apologies for not sharing much since release day.

Along with the release orders keeping me busy and the general day to day running of Uniko. I have spent this past week doing my other main job of being mummy and nurse to a poorly Bean. Thankfully he is doing a lot better and has spent the day with Grandma and Grandad giving me a little reprieve and time to catch up.

So, I am kicking the month off with a Spring card...

With it being St Davids Day and the national flower of Wales being the Daffodil I had to incorporate Spring Botanicals Daffodil into my make.

I wasn't in the mood for detailed colouring, so my quicker alternative is using a stencil. It feels like it has been a while since I used the Layering Bauhaus Blocks, so that's what I used for my base and colour hit!

I added a little masked off border to my base card before stencilling and this married in with my top layer using the Spring Botanicals Daffodil. I adhered the layer using foam adhesive for a little dimension too.

That's all from me today, but I will back over the weekend with more to share.

March 2015 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is the March 2015 Design Team Blog Hop.  As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on!

Here at Uniko Studio I currently only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month. The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko Studio HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 6 month old twin boys! So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well, just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off the previously released Flower Power #4.

With Spring peeking it's head every so often & with Easter on its way. I thought it would be nice to spread some Spring cheer to those who might not be seeing it as much as we are here in the UK.

I apologise in advance for my lack of 'new' creations, I've not had much crafting time since we moved house and my 'work' room is just a room with boxes and no desk, so I am sharing a couple of  cards I created when I released this set...

I know for a fact that the DT have whipped up some awesome creations which more than makes up for my tardiness! So please hop along and see what they have in store for you and be sure to comment along the hop to win a £5 eGift Certificate to spend in store.

March Design Team Blog Hop!

Hey!

Happy Monday! I'm SO glad you've stopped by the blog today as we've a Design Team Blog Hop for you to enjoy. So grab a drink, get comfy and enjoy!

This month here at Uniko Studio we are having a fresh look at the previously released Background Builders: Lattice. This set was released last year back in April HERE. Lattice was all the rage then in design & paper crafts and it can still be seen around the paper crafting community. It's defo a set to have  in your stamping stash!

Here's a look at the set...

In the set you get 4 building strips and 5 individual  stamps to create many a background or even a focal point using the individual stamps.

I have a few of my FAVE older projects to share with you first...

And now for a couple of NEW cards...

This first card uses the single solid lattice strip. I've stamped it on the diagonal alternating the colours for added interest and added a sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. I added some bling & some bakers twine to finish it off & I was done in less than 10 minutes! The card is a one layer card making it perfect for mailing!

I used the current The Play Date Cafe challenge colours seen HERE and below for my card. It's a FAB colour combo for the lovers of BRIGHT colours!

For my next card I decided to use some of the Modern Lattice Digital Paper Collection scraps I have in my box. This digital paper collection was released at the same time as the clear stamp set & works perfectly along side or on it's own on a project. You can see an example of this above on the 2nd card.

Here's the collection...

And here's a new card using one of the papers...

Again, I cut the paper on the diagonal for added interest. I used the Best Wishes sentiment from Label Love: Birthday stamping it onto a banner die cut. I then used the largest of the individual lattice stamps paper piecing it & adding  button to finish things off. Another simple card to whip up in 10 minutes!

Ok, so that's enough from me let's get to the hop! Your next stop from here is Aimes, if you find a broken link or get lost along the way the order of the hop can be found below...

Be sure to comment along the way for your chance to win Background Builders: Lattice & the Modern Lattice Digital Patterned Paper Collection. For those who already own these you can still join in on the hop & commenting. An alternative prize to the same value will be awarded to you! You have a total of 8 chances to win if you comment on all the DT blogs! You have until midnight Wednesday GMT to get your comments in!

Don't forget today is the last day to take advantage of the FREE Worldwide Shipping!

Enjoy & thank you for hopping along with us today!

Warning ... You May Need Sunglasses!

Hey!

I'm not kidding on this blog title! I WARN you, you might need to bring out the sunnies for view this card!

When I saw this weeks Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World my heart went pitter patter! I love Orla Kiely's pattern designs, I bought her book Pattern for myself as a Christmas present last year.

Just look at this picture ...

Now, I admit that the colours in the photo are not ones I reach for for cards or projects often but I though why not I'll have a go. The Orange tin at the top of the pile really catches my eye so I used that section of the picture to inspire my card below ...

Are you ready ...

Now, while I was constructing this card I was thinking to myself, I'm not overly happy with how this is turning out! But now I have finished it & photographed it the result is growing on me! LOL! It's a really simple LO & uses up some more of my hoarded brads which is a bonus!

I'll be back tomorrow with a more subtle colour scheme & card to share!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Joining In ...

HaPpY Thursday!

The title of this post relates both to the inspiration for this card and also relates to the reason why this post os over an hour late to my normal scheduling!

I'm behind schedule as I decided to see what all the 'hype' was all about with The Hunger Games! I didn't understand the trailer I saw the other day at the Cinema as I had never heard of the books or film. So, I thought I'd get the books & read them on my iPad, so last night I started the first book & couldn't put it down! I've even read a few chapters over my breakfast.

I'm not a BIG reader of books but enjoy reading when I found a good book & I think these will keep me entertained for a while!

Anyway, onto my card for today. I'm joining in on the ColourQ fun ...

I was drawn to these lovely BRIGHT spring colours and had to join in & use them! Here is my card below...

I used the medium & small graphic flowers from the Time set along with the sentiment. Such a simple card would brighten anyones day up! Here is a close up ...

I've used one of my many brads for the centre of the flower, why did I hoard so many brads? It'll take me years to use them all! Anyone else have that problem?!

It's another sunny day here in the UK so I am off to do some work in the sun got to make the most of it while it's here!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Clock Flowers ...

Whoop Whoop for Wednesday!

It's another sunny one here in the North East of the UK. I am certainly enjoying this mini heatwave we're having so this post will be short and sweet! I've enjoyed spending some TIME in the garden tidying, weeding & yesterday planting some flowers, strawberry plants & lettuce!

Whilst I was gardening yesterday I was inspired by the colours & flowers around me, it got me thinking about incorporating these into a card & this is what I came up with ...

I couldn't resist having another play at using the clock hands as a border! This TIME I used both the clock hands from Extra Time & stamped them in Summer Sunrise & Hawaiian Shores. For the clock face I stamped it onto Summer Sunrise CS & cut the inner circle out & mounted it onto the clock face I had stamped onto white CS & punched out using my 1 3/4" circle punch. I then matted this to a piece of Raspberry Fizz CS that was die cut with PTI's Limitless Layers 1 3/4" dies.

I used the Fiskars Threading Water punch to create the loopy border to 'ground' the stamped piece, which is adhered to the card base using foam pads. A simple sentiment from Extra Time & a sparkly button finishes off the card!

Don't forget about having a go at the CHALLENGE using the FREE Uniko Studio digital Time paper available HERE! I have now added a link to the challenge post in the left side bar.

I'm off now to the sunny garden with my sketch book to draw & be inspired by the nature around me! I hope you all have a lovely day wherever you may be.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Just Because ...

Happy Sunny Sunday!

I hope the sun is out where you are, it's a lovely day here in the North East of the UK. Officially Spring has sprung here in the UK as the clocks went forward so 'Just Because' it's SO nice here I have enjoyed it!

We had a little walk out to the restaurant to meet the family for lunch which was nice & have spent some time in the garden enjoying the sunshine & giving it a good tidy up ready for some planting! So, now I am  relaxing in the Studio creating a few projects for the blog & testing out some of the ideas that have been whirling around my brain!!

So here is today's card ...

As I had some of the FREE Uniko Studio digital Time paper left on my desk that's what I used! You can grab your FREE download HERE on the website & why not join in on the Challenge HERE

For this card I used this weeks retro sketch ...

I had fun with this sketch & might just use it again!! Well, I'm off to savour the last bit of this weekend, hope you are all having a lovely day!

Uniko Studio Saturday Show!

Pauline has used the graphic flowers on her card from the Time set & has stamped them in some lovely colours. You can read more about Pauline's card HERE on her blog & take a look around she has some lovely projects on her blog.

Next up is Sue ...

On this card Sue has used the NEW Time digital download papers available on the website HERE to purchase. There is also a freebie paper HERE to download & join in on the CHALLENGE I set yesterday! I just love how the pocket watch looks like it is hanging from a lapel on a suit jacket. You can read more about Sue's card HERE on her blog & take a look around Sue has lots of lovely projects on her blog.

The last card & project I have to share today are by DT member Aimes ...

Every TIME I pop by Aimes blog I say 'WOW!' I'd seriously LOVE to step inside Aimes' mind to see how she thinks & comes up with such FAB ideas! Below is no exception, how cute is this little gift envelope?

It just shows you don't have to use the digi papers just for cards!

Thank you ladies for making me smile :) I just love to see people using Uniko Studio stamps. I try my best to hop around my followers blogs but TIME does not always allow me so if you have created a project using the stamps and you would like to be featured HERE on the blog then drop me an email with a photo or link to your project.

Thats all from me today, I will be back tomorrow with a share or two!

How about a Challenge Giveaway!

I love butterflies & decided to use some Uniko Studio digital patterned paper to die cut them from using PTI's Butterfly Dreams die & a Martha Stewart Butterfly punch. I used PTI's Parisian Doily die & stamped a clock face from Extra Time in Smokey Shadow ink & the clock hands in Ranger Archival ink. I used foam pads to adhere the butterflies up the edge of the card & added some black & red rhinestones for some extra sparkle!

You might be wondering what Uniko Studio digital paper I have used for my butterflies if you keep reading you will find out! LOL!

Did you see ...?

Woohoo it's Wednesday!

Always feels closer to the weekend when we hit Wednesday! Lol! Lets hope this sunny weather we're having in the UK lasts so we can enjoy it at the weekend, it certainly lifts my spirits in the Studio when the sun is shining!

Anyway, did you see ...? The Uniko Studio Time & Extra Time digital papers are now available for purchase through the website HERE! I have another card to share with you using the papers & one stamp from the Time set!

For this card I printed the plain distressed journal paper from the Time & Extra Time digital download on to some white CS from PTI. I like the sturdiness of their white CS. I then used 2 circle punches a 1 3/4" punch & 1 3/8" punch to punch the circles. I then did some faux stitching with a black fine liner, stamped the sentiment & adhered it to the all over clock matted to the Smokey Shadow CS base. The all over clock paper which is printed onto some smooth 160gsm paper. A few black rhinestones & ta-dah!

I have a couple of other cards to share which some FAB Uniko Studio customers have made using their Uniko Studio stamps. I do LOVE to see what others create using them!

First up is Sue from Sydney Australia ...

I love the colour combo & those little clock hands complement the stamps SO well. Thanks for sharing your creation Sue :) You can see more about Sue's creation HERE on her blog.

The next couple of cards are by Ruby...

How different do the graphic flowers from the Time set look paired with that yummy DP?! AND the paper piecing on the larger flower is just FAB!

How about a girly clocking in card creation ...

I love the LO of this card & how Ruby has made the masculine stamps girly & soft. Fab emboss resist with the cog stamp too. For more info about Ruby's cards be sure to pop by her blog HERE

Thats all I have to share with you today, but I will be back tomorrow with some much awaited information from the happenings in the Uniko Studio!!

Thanks for stopping by!
