Amazing Layering Bauhaus Blocks Stencil

Happy Thursday.

What a scorcher for The Beans sports day today, so proud of them for doing their best, supporting each other when they were in the same race, supporting their friends and fellow key stage 2 students. It was a lovely morning spent.

After I got home I decided to ink up the Layering Bauhaus Blocks Stencil, because it simply wouldn't be a masculine month of inspiration if this didn't get used.

I've got into the habit to record my card making and I have shared a YouTube Short HERE of the process. Twenty four minutes reduced to 60 seconds!

I chose a random colour combo of Blueberry, Oceanside and Lemongrass to ink the three layers of the stencil. It can be a bit of a lengthy process, especially if like me you fill the card. But I quite like how relaxing it is.

Originally I only had the one card in mind, with the panel trimmed into a triangle and adhered using foam tape. But when I trimmed the panel I instantly thought the offcuts were too good to go to waste. So I simply adhered them to another card base.

My sentiment choice is from Everyday Sentiments.

A Quick, Colourful Masculine Card & YouTube Video

Hello & Happy Tuesday.

Today I have a A Quick, Colourful Masculine Card & YouTube Video, HERE if you would like to watch and make along with me 😃

I've used Background Blocks Splatter, Background Builders Seeing Stars and Everyday Sentiments on my card here, but really any Background Block, Background Builder and sentiment would work for this layout.

That's all from me today.

Masculine Monday, Card Of The Week AND a Winner!

Hello & Happy Monday.

How are we into the second half of June already? The days and weeks just seem to be going by so fast. But I'm back in the studio today after a jam packed weekend to kick this new week off with this week's Card Of The Week.

Continuing with masculine makes for June, I chose this card from way back from February 2014 when Explosion! was originally introduced.

This small but mighty clear stamp set packs a punch and is perfect for masculine cards. As always this clear stamp set is 15% off this week in the Card Of The Week section on the website.

I'm going to have some fun inking this set up again this week and I'll be sharing inspiration across social media when I do.

Before I go today, I was reminded that I hadn't announced the winner of the May Non-Release Brand Ambassador Blog Hop. My apologies for my brain fog!

The lucky winning comment is from Kailash.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Monday Blues

Good Morning,

Steph here today with my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post for June. As we are focussing on masculine makes this month, I have dug out some older Uniko stamp sets and focused on blue hues.

My first card uses the Uniko Block Party Coffee Love stamp set. I started by sweeping my white card with a light grey cube ink pad and then stamped and coloured the image. I added faux 'planks' using an embossing board before attaching to a card blank using foam pads.

Sticking with the grey ink and blue alcohol markers, I changed my stamp to Uniko Background Blocks Equaliser stamp set. I used the sentiment and the extra musical notes stamps from the set to finish off the card.

And finally for today, I created a birthday card with the Uniko Up & Away stamp set. I stamped the hot air balloon and basket before colouring in and fussy cutting out. I attached this to piece of card on which I had stamped clouds, the flag tail and the sentiment.

That's all my cards for today which hopefully has given you some masculine inspiration for Father's Day this coming weekend (in the UK).

Much love

A Couple Of Masculine Makes

Hello & Happy Thursday.

I'm just about sorted for my travels down south tomorrow for Crafterama Kent, so I thought I would pop by and share a couple of masculine cards I've made this week.

This first card I shared the other day as a YouTube Short, HERE. I love Background Blocks Perspective for quick (ish) masculine makes.

For this one I created a mask to add some shading using Dove ink. I then removed the mask and add some simple colouring using alcohol markers.

To finish I added a mixed sentiment from Simply Said Blocks and Simply Said Blocks Occasions and adhered them using foam tape.

Today, over on YouTube HERE I am sharing a video making this card using Balloon Bash and Birthday Sentiments. I also share my tip on using and adhering thin frames, like this one from Kristina Werner A2 Thin Frames Die

What do you think of this fun colour combo too?

I saw it somewhere on Pinterest (I think) and I jotted down colours I thought matched and would work together.

I hope you'll have a look at my video and I'd love to know if you think my tip about the frame is useful.

Ok, back to making sure I've everything for tomorrow, it's going to be an early start and a long drive down. I'll be sure to check in and share what I can on social media while I'm there.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Masculine Monday

Morning all,

Steph here today. Welcome to my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration this month where I am focussing on those oh so difficult masculine cards, using Uniko Bauhaus Blocks stamp set.

For this card I started off with Uniko Background Blocks Linear stamp and used green ink on cream card. On another piece of cream card I stamped one of the stamps from the Uniko Bauhaus Blocks stamp set, also in green ink, and after colouring with alcohol markers adhered this with foam pads. The sentiment is also from the Bauhaus Blocks set and stamped in black ink. Finally the whole panel was adhered to a black card base.

For my next card I chose a different one of the Bauhaus Blocks and stamped it in black, blue and green ink, following which I coloured each with alcohol markers in coordinating colours. On a separate piece of card I stamped a red block and coloured with red alcohol markers. This I adhered to the panel using foam blocks. I then stamped the 'Happy Father's Day' sentiment in red using a mixture of Uniko Everyday sentiment sets. I then stamped the letters DAD from the Uniko Alphabet Outlined stamp set, coloured and adhered these to the panel using foam pads.

For my final card today I started off with the Uniko Mid Century Modern Shapes stencil and three distress oxide inks. After randomly stencilling the background I stamped the Bauhaus Block in black and coloured random areas with a black alcohol marker.

I hope this has given you some inspiration for masculine cards, and more ways to use your Uniko stash.

Much love

Brand Ambassador Inspiration: Nautical cards

  Hello friends!

Happy Monday!

Vinita here with a new month and new inspirations!

I love this nautical stamp from Uniko, it is perfect for creating Masculine cards!

Card 1

I inked the bottom edge of the card using Background Blocks splatter in various blue inks. Then, I created waves in circles using Background Builders" Round in circle stamp set and placed the Yacht in a wavy sea.
The compass stamp and a sentiment finished the card with simplicity!

Card 2

For this card, I came out of my comfort zone and created this simple card with a mix of patterns.

I created the bottom edge using Round in circle stamp set 2 times leaving some space to fill the red color in between.
I stamped the Yacht and paper pieced it to create the pattern and placed a pattern paper strip on a red space too and was pleased with the result! The sentiment is from the same set.

Have a wonderful day!
Happy crafting!

Masculine Makes

Hello & Happy Thursday.

With Father's Day fast approaching I have two masculine cards to share with you. Although I have used a Father's Day sentiment on both my cards, the sentiments can be easily switched for a different occasion.

First up is a card I started at Sincerely Yours Papercraft Show on Sunday.

I am delighted to have the Stencil - MOD Background Builder back in stock and I wanted to show how it can be used for masculine cards, simply by switching up the colours and what you pair it with.

Mid Century Modern Frames is the perfect masculine accent choice. These funky frames are non complicated, clean and simple.

For this card I used Oceanside, Peacock and Midnight to ink the stencil design, which I opted to ink on an angle.

For my next card, I used Mid Century Modern Frames again, but this time paired with another favourite recent restock, Background Blocks Linear.

How fun is this colour combo?

Normally I pair pink with turquoise and yellow, but this time I decided to switch the pink with red and I just love it. The colours really pop against the black and white.

That's all I have for today, I hope this has given you some ideas for masculine makes.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - 3 Stamp Sets 1 One-Layer Card

Good morning, Anita here.

I'm back with some Brand Ambassador Inspiration today.

I was recently tasked with making an 18th birthday card for my godson and masculine cards are the kind I find the most difficult, so to make one for an older teenager was even more daunting!  I had a rummage through my Uniko stash and decided to combine three stamp sets: Big & Bold Happy, Background Blocks Halftone and Explosion!

And other than the number dies I adhered, this is a completely flat, one layer card with all the elements stamped directly on the card base.

I began by stamping the explosion in orange ink and then created a mask to protect it while stamping other elements.  I stamped the "happy" in blue/grey ink and then the halftone images in olive green and berry shades.  I removed the mask before stamping "birthday" in black and finished the card by adhering the die cut numbers.  All inks I used here are Altenew and the dies are from Spellbinders.

I was really pleased with how this one turned out and I hope this gives you some inspiration for those trickier masculine designs.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and with the Easter weekend approaching we are already past the halfway point of the working week.  Mustn't grumble, eh!  I hope you have some lovely plans for the long weekend.

Celebrating 12 Years - Fun Birthday Inspiration

Hello & Happy Friday!

It's all about birthdays this month at Uniko as we celebrate twelve years. So it should be no surprise that the creative inspiration being shared will be birthday themed.

A while back I spotted a fun sentiment on a card and it made me chuckle, so I decided to use it for my card today.

As this is a unique sentiment, I dusted off my trusted Alphabet Outlined to stamp it. My intention was to stamp the sentiment central on my one layer card, but as you can see that didn't happen! I quite like the stagger/step effect that it turned out to be in the end.

I had my brother in mind for this card, he turns the BIG five zero later this month and so I chose some masculine colours to stamp the balloons from Balloon Bash in Peacock, Midnight and Stardust. I then matched the colours to Copic Markers as best I could with the ones I have to colour the sentiment.

If you missed day 1 of the celebrations and first of the giveaways, be sure to check it out HERE. I do hope you will join me tomorrow for more inspiration and a giveaway you will not want to miss!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Masculine Birthday Cards

Good morning everyone,

Steph here and this month I'm using Uniko Big & Bold - Happy stamp and co-ordinating die set to make masculine birthday cards.

My first card teams the Uniko Big & Bold - Happy bundle with Uniko Bee Happy stamp set. I stamped the gorgeous little bees, the honeycomb hearts and the ‘bee day’ sentiment using the Bee Happy stamp set and fussy cut each one before adhering to the base panel which I had die cut using a generic honeycomb die. I then used blue ink to stamp the ‘happy’ sentiment and die cut using the coordinating die.

My next card uses the ‘happy’ die cut as an aperture with coloured strips of card adhered behind. This is a great way to use up card scraps. The stamped elements are all from the Big & Bold - Happy stamp set.

Taking inspiration from my previous card, I created a striped background and added a die cut ‘happy’ using both the inner more detailed die and the outer edging die. Again the sentiments are from Uniko Big & Bold - Happy stamp set and I finished the card with a die cut frame.

Hopefully I’ve given you some new inspiration and you are digging out the Big & Bold - Happy stamp and / or die set for a play soon.

Much love
