Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Slimline Christmas

Morning all,

Since my waist is not looking very slimline this Christmas, I thought I’d better make my cards slimline instead!

This card started out with the lovely bold sentiment from the Uniko Mid Century Modern Christmas stamp set. My next plan was to use the Christmas tree from this set but I managed to temporarily lose it (later found to have dropped into a desk drawer!). So, change of plan and to keep with the trees, I chose the Uniko In The Forest stencil and two shades of distress oxide ink. Finally a cute die cut bow to finish off the card.

Sticking with trees I selected the Uniko Pop Trees stamp set (sadly now discontinued) and teamed it with a sentiment from the Uniko Festive Sentiments stamp set.

For my last card I used Uniko Background Blocks Scandinavian Christmas stamp to create a beautiful panel to the side of the card. I then added the doves and sentiment from the Uniko Peace on Earth stamp set keeping the rest of the card CAS.

Much love

PEACE, LOVE, JOY

Hello & Happy Monday!

I'm starting the week off with another festive card and one that uses and combines non-traditional Christmas products.

I love alphabet stamps and of course our Alphabet Outlined, but it is often a clear stamp set I easily forget about and neglect. But it's such a versatile stamp set and one maybe I should keep in mind more often. I was thinking about how I could incorporate the alphabet on my card and as I often do, I started browsing through Christmas cards I've made previously to spark inspiration.

I came across this one using Festive Sentiments Outlined and Peace on Earth HERE and seen below.

And this is how I took the inspiration and came up with something new...

A colourful and eclectic mix of Uniko products! With the alphabet stamps being a larger scale I first needed to change the orientation of my card from portrait to landscape. I then divided my card panel into 3, lightly drawing lines with a pencil to keep my stamping as straight as possible!

Once I'd stamped the words, I set the panel aside to dry while I stamped the dove from Peace on Earth and the heart from BIG & BOLD Love. I fussy cut them both out and added some glitter using a glue pen.

I then went back to my words, used an eraser to remove the pencil lines and coloured the letters with Stampin' Up! Blend Markers. Before assembling my card I stamped the tiny string of lights from BIG & BOLD Merry on the ends of JOY.

I then adhered the panel to my base card using foam tape and added the dove and heart with foam tape as well. To finish I added some colourful Nuvo Drops to the Christmas lights.

This was a fun to make and was a great way of stretching some non-Christmas products. Now I am thinking about other words and combinations! What words would you choose for a Christmas card using this layout/style?

Hope your week has started well.

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Peace on Earth

Hi all,

Thanks for joining me, Steph, today for my Uniko Brand Ambassador inspiration post. I seem to be on a roll with Christmas cards at the moment so I have chosen to use the Uniko Peace on Earth stamp set. I have however, made one card that isn't a Christmas card with this set...read on!

Here I have kept to a very traditional layout, stamping one of the doves and fussy cutting. I stamped the olive branch twice and fussy cut also before layering them and the dove onto a navy blue die cut circle. The sentiment is also from the Peace on Earth set and is heat embossed using white embossing powder.

For my next card I have white heat embossed the edges with snowfall from the Uniko Background Builders: Winter Wonderland stamp set. I then heat embossed the two doves onto navy card and fussy cut. The olive branch is stamped directly onto the card using green ink as is the sentiment using navy ink.

For my final card I wanted to show how this stamp set could also be used for a congratulations (or wedding) card. I stamped and heat embossed the doves using black ink and fussy cut. I then used the outline heart from the Uniko Background Builders: Hearts stamp set and heat embossed in clear before infilling with glossy accents. (I think it looks a bit like the middle of a jammy dodger!!). I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the Uniko Flower Power #3 stamp set before adhering all the elements to a green die cut stitched rectangle and then onto the card front.

Hoping I have given you some useful inspiration today and that you are where you want to be in terms of your Christmas crafting!!

Much love

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Rustic Christmas

Hello friends, today I am up with 2 lookalike projects using the Rustic Christmas stamp set  from Uniko.

I have used the DI tumbled glass to stamp the snowflakes from the BIG & BOLD Snow stamp set
I stamped the tree using the DI pine needles. I have used the same ink to dab on the base card to create an edge. I added a few die cuts from my stash to put together the snow scene, the sentiment is from Peace on Earth stamp set.

Both these cards were made in bulk for an acquaintance of mine, and are winging to the US with her for her family and friends for Christmas.

I hope you like the inspiration.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Design Team Inspiration - Water Colours

Hello, it's Deborah here with you this morning, in another of our Design Team Inspiration series. I decided to have a play with my Brusho water colour crystals and try out different techniques with them. This is not a new technique as Sarah used them recently, but it's fun, so I thought it was worth another look. Here's a look at the final set of six cards:

I used water colour card for all the snowflake panels. I wiped over all the pieces of card with an anti static buddy.

I wanted to repeatedly stamp the same snowflakes on several water colour panels, so I used my MISIT, so easy! I heat embossed the snowflakes with white powder and then came the fun part. I sprinkled small amounts of Brusho crystals on the card and spritzed on some water.

The top row shows how the crystals react to one spray and then a couple more sprays of water. The bottom row shows how the green crystals actually contain so many other colours.

I used a couple of different methods to activate the crystals. On some of the card I simply spritzed water and allowed the crystals to activate. As you can see from the image above on the right hand side, you end up with patches of dark colour and swirling patterns. The two images on the left were created by wetting the card, adding crystals and using a broad brush to blend the colours. After the panels were dry I ran a wet paint brush across the top and allowed the paint to run down and create drip patterns.

To make the set I created two cards using the full panels, adding some detail to the sides with dies and stamped the bold sentiments at the bottom. For the next two cards I die cut shapes, stamped some more snowflakes on the cards and added greetings on the die cut panels. I finished off the set with some square cards, die cut panels and added the greetings to the card. As yet, I've not done the insides. I was inspired to create the snowflake cards by this week's challenge at Jingle Belles. Here's a close up of the corners of four of the cards:

Do drop back again soon. Hugs

CAS Colours & Sketches #202

Hey & Happy December!

WhooHoo, the countdown to Christmas has begun! Thanks to my bestie Kerry, we have started a new tradition, like many households with kiddies... Elf on the Shelf! I'm not sure if the beans will enjoy it as much as me ;) but this is Buddy the elf waiting to greet the beans after breakfast. Buddy is sat on the TV stand, as I usually let them watch Peppa Pig so I can eat my breakfast in peace - LOL!

Talking of peace, lets get to todays card! This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches we are looking back at all the challenges of 2016, choosing one and making it FESTIVE. THIS week we would like you to look at the 2016 Colour Challenge Archive and choose a colour combo and use it to make a festive card.

I decided upon Challenge #196 from October...

You can check HERE to see how I used them last time, this is what I came up with this time...

With the recent Uniko Release all the stamps are still currently on my desk, so I reached for Rustic Wreath and paired it with a Stampin' Up! die cut sentiment, which is heat embossed with Copper EP. As are the pine cones and then I finished the sentiment off with a partial sentiment from Pure Florals: Poinsettia

For the layout of my card I used the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch seen HERE and below. Such a fun and versatile sketch and one that worked perfectly for using Rustic Wreath ;)

Ok, that's all from me for now, I hope I have inspired you to give these colours a go and join in on the challenge this week. Be sure to stop on over HERE and check out what the rest of the CAS Colours & Sketches DT have done using the colours and I hope to see you in the gallery.

Thanks for stopping by today.

CAS Colours & Sketches #191

Hey!

This month over at CAS Colours & Sketches our hostess is Karen. Karen has come up with some fabulous challenges for us, including this weeks lovely colour combo HERE and seen below for you to try...

What a lovely colour combo, don't you think? It had me stumped for a while, but then an idea struck and I went with it. With a restock of lots of clear stamp sets today HERE in the Uniko store, including Peace On Earth that I have used on my card. I decided to make a Christmas card...

I thought the Delightful Dijon resembles a lovely old gold colour and one which I have the SU! card stock for, so decided to use that as my base. I then die cut a white panel stamped the sentiment and olive branch from the set in a close of a match green as I have to Cucumber Crush. Wrapped some Bermuda Bay bakers twine round the panel before adhering to the card base using foam adhesive.

The dove is stamped in Bermuda Bay, fussy cut out and embellished with glitter for a little Christmas sparkle!
