Wonderful Wednesday - A Winner & A Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday.

I'm here to get you over the mid week hump with some inspiration and the winner of the August Release Blog Hop.

First up my card...

My card was inspired by being out in the garden this morning doing the outside jobs before we go on holiday, like mow the lawns, dead head the flowers in the baskets and sort the chickens too.

I've not inked up the Layering Picked Posies for a bit, so I thought it would be nice to use for this quick, clean and simple card.

I recorded a YouTube Short of me making the card, you can watch it HERE

I used random.org to select a lucky comment and the winner is...

Melissa Leftrick

Awesome cards!!!

Congratulations Melissa! Please send an email to bev@uniko.co.uk to claim your £25 eGift Code.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment and hop along with us.

Before I go, a little friendly reminder.

Two For Tuesday.

Happy Tuesday.

Today I have two cards to share. The first I pretty much made during the Background Blocks Swiss Dots YouTube video HERE. And during the video I promised I would share a card made exactly the same, but using the Taylored Expressions Perforated Paper

So I had this idea, basically wondering if I could achieve a similar look to perforated paper using the Background Blocks Swiss Dots.

I started by stamping the background using Pebble ink and then I stencilled the Layering Picked Posies over the top.

I finished with a sentiment from Everyday Sentiments adhered using foam tape and a trio of enamel dots. I absolutely LOVE the result, but I wanted to see how it compared to using the same stencil in the same colours and layout on the TE Perforated Paper.

So off camera I made it.

This challenged me to finally cut into the paper! It's a little on the pricey side and you only get a few sheets, so something you would want to use sparingly.

I love how it turned out and it was easy to stencil onto.

In comparison to my first card the perforated paper has more of a yellow/off white colour compared to the Simply The Best 280gsm card from Limetree.

With there being a lot more holes in the perforated paper compared to dot cover on the stamped card, the detail layer of the stencil is a little more subtle on this second card.

Personally I prefer the stamped version, but it doesn't mean I won't be trying the perforated paper in another project.

I'd love to know which you perfer.

Welcome Spring!

Hello 😃

Happy Spring to those of you in the Northern Hemisphere ðŸŒ· It's such a delight to finally have the sunshine here, although still chilly on a morning and when it goes it, it really does help lift the mood. Even more so when today is also International Day of Happiness.

With it being a day of happiness I had to do things that make me happy. First up was making trio of cards using the Stencil - Layering Picked Posies that have been on my creative mind all week.

Although this layering stencil is perfect all year round, it was screaming for spring colours. And of course I went for my usual colour palette that really makes me happy.

First up I went for a fun square layout using square die cuts. I made a similar card over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today using this layout.

This partial inking on the squares is a fun way to use the flowers only and I left a space without the square to stamp my sentiment from Everyday Spring Sentiments.

Next up it was only right that I used all four layers for a focal point panel. This time I added in a little purple for the smaller flowers, of which I simply used the ink left on the blending brush for a softer look.

I adhered the stencilled panel onto my card base using double sided tape, leaving me to add the sentiment strip using foam adhesive. Again my sentiment is from the Everyday Spring Sentiments.

Lastly for today I wanted to use the full bloom on its own as a single flower. I used some simple masking to ink the leaves I wanted.

I chose to have a little more dimension on this card by adhering the flower using foam adhesive and again, another of the sentiment choices from the Everyday Spring Sentiments.

Which layout do you like best?

I can't choose a favourite today as I had so much fun inking and making.

As today is International Day Of Happiness and I know we can all do with a bit more happiness, so I have a HAPPY10 discount code over on the website today until 9am tomorrow 21st March 2025. No code necessary.

January 2025 Release - Introducing... Layering Picked Posies Stencil

Hello & Happy New Years Eve

I know it's a super busy time of year with all the celebrations, family & friend time. But I couldn't resist ending the year and starting the New Year with some new products. Hopefully you saw the sneak peeks I shared HERE yesterday, but if not be sure to go check them out.

Today myself and the Uniko Brand Ambassadors are kicking off the first of the introductions with a lovely, lovely floral layering stencil, Layering Picked Posies Stencil.

You might recognise this floral from the Exclusive CraftStash Picked Posies Collection I did for them back in late 2023. The flowers are unfortunately no longer available and because I know quite a few of you purchased the collection I didn't just want to re-release them here at Uniko. So I got to thinking how I could bring them to you all here, but differently.

Therefore, I bring you a 4 layered stencil that will work perfectly on its own, but will also pair beautifully with the Exclusive CraftStash Picked Posies Collection. Let's have a look at it in action...

I hope you love this stencil as much as I do AND as it is New Years Eve, I'll be giving one set of the stencils away to one lucky comment left on any of the blog posts & or across Uniko's social media posts to win this stencil set.

Happy hopping & see you in 2025!

Brand Ambassador Inspiration - Picked Posies

Good morning all,

Thanks for joining me, Steph, today for my Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration post. I thought it would be nice to show off the range that Bev created exclusively for Craftstash called Picked Posies.

My first card uses the Uniko Picked Posies Fresh Cut Foliage background stamp and adhered this to the card blank at an angle. I then stamped and die cut the florals from the  Picked Posies set. The sentiment is from the sentiment set of the same name and I have fussy cut it and adhered it over vellum before adding to the card front.

This time I created a monotone card and stamped the background in two shades of purple. Directly onto this I stamped the outline and solid Picked Posies stamps. Finally I die cut the word ‘smile’ using the Uniko Picked Posies Smile layering sentiment.

My final card uses the Picked Posies Plaid layering stencil set over which I have added flowers and foliage stamped and die cut using the Picked Posies set.

This range is currently on sale exclusively at Craftstash so if you like what you see then head over and check them out!

Much love
Steph x
