March Meet The Maker - Workspace

Happy FriYAY!

Today on March Meet The Maker it is all about workspaces. I've shared a reel over on Uniko's Instagram & Facebook of a little walk through my space, but I thought I would share a few photos here for those of you who are not on social media.

This is where I spend my days & the Uniko magic happens! My space is small, it is the box room in our house and I share the space with my husband too when he sometimes works from home. I had to make room for him when his office became a room for a Bean when they decided they were too big to share a room.

My desk isn't usually this tidy!

I did tidy up especially for today and if you look closely there is lots of things out of place and not organised at all. Hence why I haven't done a 'studio tour'!

When I say Uniko is a small business, it is exactly that. There is no warehouse or staff, all of the Uniko inventory is neatly organised alphabetically in these white boxes. I can easily pick and pack an order when I need to.

I do have plans in place for when my inventory outgrows this space, but for now, it works.

How cute is this pin?

Lightening Laser are the sponsors of March Meet The Maker 2025 and it was generously free to those taking part. I've some ideas whirring as to some fun Uniko pins in the near future as this is just lovely.

And, I couldn't blog without sharing a card.

I've had this one made for a while and sat on my desk waiting to be photographed. As you can see from my post yesterday I have been loving the Stencil - Layering Picked Posies.

My sentiment is from Spring Botnicals Tulip and stamped in Dove ink as I wanted it to be soft and not overpowering like it would be stamped in black.

That's all from me today.

Stencil Sunday - Happy 2021 Balloons

Happy Sunday!

It's a slow, easy & chilled Sunday here at Uniko HQ as I mentally prepare for the chaos of early mornings and the back to school routine! Along with some chores around the house, I have made sure to find a little pocket of creative time in the studio for me.

I often neglect my stencils, so another of my goals in 2021 is to show them some more love. Stencil Sunday's will most likely become a regular feature (again) to achieve this goal ;)

I am continuing my love for the 2021 Pantone colours of the year, mainly because I still had them out on my desk! I remember a few years ago, though it is probably more if I really thought about it, when the yellow and grey colour combo was a big trend in the paper crafting and handmade card community. Do you remember?

As you can see, today I am giving the Stencil - Balloon Bash some inky love. And I am practicing with soft, light blending to the centre of the balloon, to darker edges on the outside. To achieve some depth and life like appearance. I often get heavy handed when blending, even though using blending brushes is a little easier to achieve a softer blend.

The sentiment is from Simply Said Blocks and I stamped the 2021 using Alphabet Outlined, it's one of my favourite 'go to' sets on my desk at the moment!

As I have created a lovely CAS design I thought it would be nice to join in over at CAS on Friday and their Best Wishes challenge HERE. I don't think I have joined in on this challenge before, although I have had them bookmarked for sometime now. Be sure to check it out if you enjoy CAS challenges :)

That's all from me today, it's time for me to get another chore done before the online food shop arrives and then I've the dinner to cook.

Thank you for stopping by and for all the lovely New Year comments & wishes.

Uniko Sponsors CASology!

Hey!

It certainly is a busy day round here today! We've our July 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY going on HERE. Plus I have my usual CAS Colours & Sketches DT card HERE and myself and Uniko are super duper honoured and proud to be sponsoring this weeks CASology challenge HERE!!

This week the challenge at CASology is...

There are a few Uniko clear stamp sets that are suited to this cue word, I was inspired however to use Pure Florals: Cosmos. This is mainly due to the sentiment in the set 'Make a Wish'...

I was also inspired by a couple of challenges, "Less is More" and AAA Cards, which have teamed up to bring a FAB one layer challenge and to use a coloured card base HERE and HERE...

I also happened to be making my card after making my July 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY card seen HERE and was itching to carry on using the Gansai Tambi Starry Watercolours...

Again, I heat embossed the sentiment and the Cosmos image in black embossing powder and then got to watercoloring. Super simple but beautifully sparkly and pretty!

That's all I have to share with you today, I do hope you will join in on the CASology challenge HERE and look forward to seeing you in the gallery :)

Thanks for stopping by for all the fun today.

CAS Colours & Sketches #224

Hey!

I'm here this week after a little hiatus last week with my next CAS Colours & Sketches design team inspiration for you. This week is Emily's turn for hostess as we each take it in turns for May & June.

This week is sketch week and Karen has this wonderful sketch seen below to spark your creativity...

Here's how I used THIS WEEKS sketch...

My original stamp set choice didn't turn out well, so in the end I turned to my other favourite, Uniko Style!

A nice CAS and fairly quick design to produce, so as I needed a few thank you cards I went on to make one in each of the Altenew ink colour families I have!

That's all from me today, if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used it.

Thanks for stopping by today.

February 2017 & 5th Birthday Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Welcome to the Uniko February 2017 & 5th Birthday Reveal, Release & GIVEAWAY!

As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on! Here at Uniko I *USUALLY* only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month.

The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing. Alongside that I am a full time mum to 2  1/2 year old twin boys. So releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well...just about!

Today I am here with the help of the awesome design team to introduce you to the FIVE clear stamp sets available to purchase HERE now!

Let's have a look at them... First up we have one of the new style stamps and first in the series of Block Party. This one is appropriately named Block Party Birthday...

As you can see the stamp features some awesome birthday themed words in fabulous and trendy fonts, along with some current and retired Uniko birthday images. The stamp measures 9.5 x 13cm. If you missed seeing this set in action during the introductions, you can catch up HERE. However, I am sure you will see a few more ideas using this stamp along todays hop ;)

Next we have Originally Organic Additions...

I couldn't resist bringing you this additions clear stamp set to not only work on its own, but to work with the popular Originally Organics clear stamp set released towards the end of 2016. Many of you will recognise the heart wreath featured in the set, which was part of a digital collection of stamps I designed for Simply Cards & Papercrafts Magazine HERE.

Another new style clear stamp series called Background Blocks. They are what they say, simply a block of yummy pattern! The first in this series Background Blocks Halftone is due to my LOVE of Pop Art and Roy Litchenstien, plus the modern pop art trend is making a come back this year.

This stamp measures 7 x 9.5 cm, the perfect size for a focal pattern on your card / project and more. There are so many possibilities with this stamp and if you missed the inspiration during the introductions, you can catch up HERE. This clear stamp goes hand in hand with the next clear stamp set...

Explosion! Additions £9 / £9.95

Explosion! Additions clear stamp set, again due to my LOVE of Pop Art and to breath fresh life into the previously released Explosions! clear stamp set. Oh the fun I have had with these stamps ;) If you missed the introduction of this set you can catch up HERE.

Lastly and by no means least, I think I save my NEW favourite to last, I welcome Uniko Style to the Uniko clear stamp line up...

Uniko Style is a modern Scandinavian inspired floral building and layering stamp set. This set might not be much to look at from the product picture itself, but the samples in the introduction HERE show just how it looks stamped in colour.

Now I have done all the formal introductions, the Design Team and I have an AMAZING blog hop for you to enjoy.

Simply hop along the links below and be sure to leave a comment along the way for your chance to WIN the ENTIRE release, plus a couple of extras! A winner will be picked at random from all the comments left along the hop before Midnight Saturday 4th March GMT.
