Brilliant Bank Holiday Bargains!

Hello & Happy Monday.

It's a holiday Monday here in the UK and I thought I would have add some bargains to the SALE page on the website.

I've a few items that are overstocked and taking up space thats needed for restocks and the next release in the autumn. Be quick as they'll return to normal price on Tuesday morning!

And here is a couple of cards using a couple of the Bank Holiday Bargains...

Background Builders: Seeing Stars is one of the Bank Holiday Bargains and it is such a fun set for all occasions. I decided to create this simple Congratulations card.

I chose my favourite trio of Honeysuckle, Buttercup, Oceanside and added in Midnight. I then popped the stamped panel onto my card base using foam tape.

I created a little reel making this card, which I have shared over on the Uniko Instagram page HERE.

I enjoyed this layout and colour scheme so much I decided to keep it the same for my second card using Organic Blooms.

Again I have another video making this card which I have shared as a YouTube Short over HERE.

I love both cards, but I think the Seeing Stars card is the one I prefer, I think it's the straight lines of the geometrics that appeal to me.

Which card do you prefer?

Before I go, a little friendly reminder.

Friday Focus - Floral Vines

 Happy Friday!

It's been the longest shortest week for me, like the week has gone pretty quick, but I am feeling tired at the same time!

Anyway, I managed to squeeze in some creative time yesterday and decided to create a couple of cards using Floral Vines.

I've my usual CAS style for these cards today and chose summery colours to shine through these Spring showers!

I started with simple design using the Floral Vine focal image along the side of my card with a simple 'smile' sentiment. I added trio of circles to emphasise the sentiment and add a little finishing touch.

This lead to my second simple card design...

This time I used a little masking and then used a border / building stamp from Background Builders Arts Decoratifs and the 'Just For You' sentiment.

As you can see I kept the colours the same as my first card for ease and continuity. I really love how this simple duo turned out.

Thats all from me today, I hope you have enjoyed this little Friday Focus on Floral Vines today.

CAS Colours & Sketches #229 - Sketch

Hey!

I'm here again with my next CAS Colours & Sketches design team inspiration for you. This week it is Janes's turn to be hostess as we each take it in turns for May & June. This is also sadly Jane's last time at being hostess too, as Jane has decided to step down from the DT.

Jane... you have been an awesome and inspirational teamie over at CAS Colours & Sketches and your weekly inspiration over there will be truly missed. I know we will still see your awesome inspiration around blogland and here on the Uniko Blog ;) and we might even see you in the CC&S gallery from time to time...?

Anyway, in true Jane style she has this FABulous sketch to inspire you this week...

Jane is looking for one element larger than the other two, but they don't have to be circles and is happy for you to change the width of the chevron slightly. Feel free to flip or rotate the sketch when creating your card. Don't forget to keep is CAS to be considered for the weekly winners!

Here's how I used the sketch..

The hardest part of this sketch, was choosing the images/elements for the circles. I had so many ideas buzzing round my head! As Marvellous Mehndi was still on my desk from last weeks colours, I reached for it again.

I decided I wanted to join in on another challenge as the colours are 'lush' and perfect for the idea I had in my head! The challenge is the current Global Design Project challenge HERE and seen below.

I am LOVING the new Stampin' Up! In Colours and I am totally kicking myself for only getting them in the card stock, I wish I'd got the markers too. They are NOW on next months list!

I've had this MTF double stitched border die for AGES and it was about time I gave it a real outing on a card. Jane's sketch was perfect for it too. I started by die cutting the chevron border twice and a centimetre apart on the white card layer. This meant that the Lemon Lime Twist base card would show through. I then decided to die cut a chevron out of Berry Burst and added that as a colourful border and interest to the chevron.

The small mandala is mainly coloured with Pool Party, with hints of the closest matches to the other two colours in markers I had. As I kept the areas to a minimum the difference can hardly be seen.  I then added two enamel dots to follow the sketch. Again, the sentiment is from Simply Said, such a handy set for all types of occasions ;)

That's all from me today, if you need some more inspiration using the sketch be sure to pop by the CAS Colours & Sketches blog HERE and see how the DT and Guest Designer have used it.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Flowers...Just For You

Hey!

Happy weekend & extended weekend to those who have one - YAY! Hopefully the sun is shining where you are and you have some family/friend time and a little time to craft too :)

I plan on getting some time in the studio this weekend to design and create, it feels like ages since I did. I did find a little 30 minutes the other lunchtime to create this card...

I was too late to get this up on the blog for yesterdays challenge reminder post HERE, so I thought I would do my own little extra reminder today! The theme this month is FLOWERS, easy right? I'm sure we all have a floral stamp, die or patterned paper in our stash.

I decided to ink up Beautiful Blooms II using my new Hero Arts Ombré ink pads, such an easy way to add the perfect gradient of colours to your creations :) I also used my new Mama Elephant dies, you only see a small snippet of the die cut on the card, but I still think it adds to the design. The dies I have used can be purchased HERE and HERE at Make the Day Special.

Anyway, I used the current Freshly Made Sketch layout seen HERE and below and it was a fun sketch to use.

As it is an extended weekend here in the UK I thought it would be nice to have a little discount code valid for just this weekend, it's been a while since I had one, so, simply apply the code FLORAL10 to the coupon box during checkout and the 10% discount will be applied. Code valid till Midnight BST 25th May 2015.

Ok, that's all from me today, thanks for stopping by & have a lovely weekend :)

Doilies Just For You & a WINNER!

Hey!

Today I have a CAS card to share with you, but first how about a WINNER for the August Release Day Blog Hop?!

Random.org chose...

Comment 51 appears on Gillian's blog...

Love the new stamp sets - the Strike a Pose set is great for scrapbooks as well as cards. Margaret

Congratulations Margaret! Send me an email to beverley@unikostudio.com along with your mailing address and I will get your prize of the entire release on it's way to you! If you ordered any of the release products on release day you can either choose a Gift Certificate to the value you spent in store or a refund.

Now onto todays card...

When I saw the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below I knew I wanted to use Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time. I paired the sketch with the just passed Color Throwdown colours HERE and also seen below.

I'm not overly fussed with how it turned out, mainly due to my colouring, looking back I think I should have left some of the hands white and coloured the doily in more randomly than repetitively?

Today is another chilled out day in the studio making cards and fulfilling orders :) I hope you all have a lovely day & until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by today!

Lots of Colour!

Hey!

Firstly I want to thank you all for your lovely comments and understanding re: my tiredness and current condition, it truly means a lot to me :)

Secondly after all the napping and an early night I felt much more refreshed today and was able to accomplish a few more things around the house in preparation for the 'lil beans and also spent some time with a few old work friends catching up. Plus this evening I've had the energy & a little mojo to create todays card...

I've used a lot more colour and very little white than I normally would on a card, but I still feel that as I've kept the elements minimal to a degree it still looks CAS. I was inspired by the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below and using SO many colours is certainly a challenge, but that's what they're all about after all!

Surprisingly I am now off to watch the World Cup! I have gotten into it this time round and I watch it whilst doing my knitting!

Anyway, it's a quiet day tomorrow with no excursions or plans, so I hope to spend quite a bit of time here in the studio, fitting in the normal lunchtime nap of course! So until tomorrow, thank you for stopping by & again for all your lovely comments & understanding :)

Monday Blues...?

Hey!

I'm still hanging in here and getting bigger by the day! I will share a 'bump' photo tomorrow, hopefully the weather will be a little brighter and less gloomy so I can get a decent picture. I'm back at the hospital tomorrow for another scan and they're going to be every two weeks, so I'll be practically living there! Plus, time is flying by at the moment with SO much to do, think of and fit in, can't it slow down just a little?!

Anyway, I found some time this evening to squeeze in a little crafting and make a card...

I decided to 'play' along with a couple of challenges. First I decided to use the current 'Less is More' challenge HERE and seen below which is a sketch challenge.

I then saw Taheerah's new Cure For The Monday Blues challenge HERE and seen below and was inspired by a few of the bright colours.

As you can see I kept it really simple. I used the solid bloom from Flower Power #2 and combined it with a label from Label Love: Thank you and two sentiments from A Gift For You. I was pleased to discover that the 'Just For You' sentiment fit perfectly inside the label. I love making discoveries like that :)

Don't forget there is still time to hop along & comment HERE to be in the chance of winning a prize! That's all from me today, I hope to stop by again tomorrow with another card. Until then, thank you for stopping by today & I hope you are all well :)

My 'Go To' Sentiment

Hey!

Finally I found some energy to make a card to share with you all. They say that during the second trimester your energy is supposed to return & mine hasn't made an appearance yet! Anyway, enough of my rambling how about the card...

This seems to be my 'Go To' sentiment at the moment, perfect for all occasions. I decided to use the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below.

As soon as I saw the sketch I knew the stamps I wanted to use. Firstly I dusted off Peace on Earth & used the curved branch. I then stamped the sentiment from A Gift From You and layered the flowers from Flower Power #1.

A few pearls to the flower centres and the panel adhered to the base card using foam adhesive finished the card off.

That's all from me today, I 'hope' to be back tomorrow with more to share. I had best muster some more energy and get the tea on! Until next time, thank you for stopping by today :)

Just For You...

Hey!

Seriously the days seem to be flying by here at Uniko Studio HQ. Currently my days are filled with fulfilling orders, designing & organising myself for the rest of 2014 plus LOTS of tidying, sorting, clearing out & organising in the house. I don't think I have ever been so organised! I'm doing ALL the things I know I won't be able to do, firstly before all I can do is waddle & secondly before the twins arrive! Lol!

Anyway, I took a little time to craft last night & whipped up this card...

As I've said before every month I treat myself to a few goodies from the Stampin' Up! catalogue. When I saw the Sizzix Sqaure Framelits Die Collection they bumped a few things down the list as I had to have them! Inspired by all the flowers in the garden as I look out the window, I decided to use my new square dies to create a polaroid frame.

I started out with a rectangle of Papertrey Ink Bitty Dot Basics designer paper in Soft Stone measuring 8.5 x 11 cm. Then using one of the square dies I die cut the inner frame, finishing the polaroid off by rounding the corners. I placed the frame on my base card & lightly drew round the inner frame so I knew where to stamp the stem & leaves from Flower Power #2. The sentiment stamped on the frame is from A Gift For You & I finished the frame off by wrapping some embroidery floss around it & tying it in a bow. This is adhered to the card using foam adhesive as is the fussy cut flower from Flower Power #1.

Ok, that's all from me today, I've some more sorting & organising to do! I'll be back tomorrow with more to share, until then, thank you for stopping by :)

Embossed Gebera

Hey!

I'm continuing the floral theme again today with a very simple embossed card...

I started out by stamping & embossing the full Pure Florals: Gerbera bloom, I then stamped the 'Just for you' sentiment in SU! Pool Party ink & the over stamped & embossed the 'celebrate' sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday. The panel is then mounted to the card base using foam adhesive.

Tomorrow is the BIG day that I've been planning, organising & talking about for SO long! I promise to share photos with you all as soon as I can.

That's all from me today, thank you for stopping by :)
