Uniko Sponsors the NBUS Challenge!

Hey!

I am super happy you have stopped by the blog today, as Uniko is sponsoring another FABulous challenge :)

The lovely Darnell (who recently GD with us) holds a super challenge, here is a few details about it...

Like most crafters, Darnell found she was purchasing new product faster than she was using it, especially when she put it away and then forgot about it! So she coined the acronym "NBUS" to stand for "never-before-used schtuff" and every time she used a virginal item, she called it NBUS in her post.
The acronym caught on in Blogland and now you'll often see crafters comment that they used a "NBUS" product on their creation. To thank her followers and to encourage others to use their NBUS, Darnell started her challenge in 2014. This current challenge is the fifth NBUS Challenge and it runs from September 8-18, 2015.

I am absolutely delighted to be part of this FABulous challenge & sponsoring it, if you take part and join in HERE you will be in the chance of winning

'a Stamp Set of YOUR choice, from the upcoming Uniko September Release'.

Along with Uniko there is an AWESOME collection of sponsors for the NBUS challenge, so be sure to check out the rules & details HERE.

I couldn't not sponsor the challenge & tell you all about it without joining in myself with a NBUS item I purchased recently...

My NBUS on my card is the Pretty Pink Posh stitched banner die & tiny heart die that comes in the collection. I still had my Flower Power #6 stamp set on the desk so gave that one a little more inky love too.

Now, along with the prize for joining in on the challenge I am also going to give ONE lucky comment the chance to win a prize!

Simply comment on this post by the 18th September and I will randomly draw a comment to win a stamp set from the Uniko September Release!

How does that sound? Good I hope! Ok, that's all from me just now, I will be back later today to announce the WINNER of the recent Uniko Challenge. Until then, thanks for stopping by and HAVE FUN joining in on the challenge.

Birthday Duo...

Hey, Happy Weekend!

Yesterday was Midsummer Solstice here in the UK and the Northern Hemisphere, so to celebrate Uniko Studio has an offer on of FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING on ALL orders, not just those over £50! Be sure to pop on over and take advantage of this special offer as it ends Sunday Midnight BST!

Ok, on to todays cards, I've a birthday theme going on and created this duo...

My first card uses one of my 'go to' sentiments from All Occasion Sentiments #2, the birthday sentiment! This time I paired it with a partial sentiment from Label Love: Birthday and the smaller arrows from Accent Essentials: Arrows.

I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! for the layout of my card which can be seen HERE and below. I really like how the bright arrows 'POP' against the neutral background :)

My next card for today uses the same colour combination and theme but I've used a mixture of different stamps (I'm trying to show some other Uniko Studio Clear Stamps some LOVE!)...

I started out by stamping the label from Label Love: Christmas in various bright colours using the masking technique. I then stamped the celebrate sentiment from Flower Power #2 and the small bow from Label Love: Birthday. I wish I had left the Happy Birthday sentiment off in hindsight, but I added a bit of faux stitching and a few rhinestones to the bow centres to finish the card.

That's all from me today, it seems quite in the studio today as Abbie my intern isn't here, but I'm sure I will find plenty to occupy myself with though! I will be back tomorrow with more to share. Until then thanks for stopping by.

Supplies:
Card Stock: White from stash, PTI Kraft
Ink: PTI Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz & Summer Sunrise. SU! Lucky Limeade & Pumpkin Pie. Versafine Onyx Black
Accessories: Rhinestones, Hero Arts Prisma Glitter & Foam Adhesive

Wonderful Washi

Hey!

I seem to have slept most of Saturday away today & had a late inky session in the studio, but overall had a good day! I hope your all having a good day & enjoying what you've done or are up to :)

It's been some time since I inked up my Wonderful Washi stamps & so I've a Wonderful Washi card to share with you all today...

It just so happens that Moxie FAB World are holding some challenges over on the blog and one of them HERE is all about using Washi Tape. So I had to join in on the fun using Uniko Studio's Wonderful Washi clear stamp set!!

As I was layering my Washi over a doily that my friend Claire gave me to try out from SU! I stamped my Washi onto card. If I had not been layering it I would have searched for my white tissue paper and 'made' some of my own self adhesive Washi tape!

A sentiment from Label Love: Birthday stamped onto a banner die cut, some satin ribbon, a heart shaped button & some bling finished the card of nicely! I used the current Dynamic Duos colour challenge HERE and seen below for my card. Two colours I'd not automatically grab to put together, but I'm liking it!

So that's all from me today, I'm off to chill in front of the TV and watch a movie! Thanks for stopping by today.

The Hands of Time

TGIF!

Oh Friday, how I love thee! I'm one day closer to the weekend, release day & my much needed vacation! Anyway, I'm back today continuing the theme of focusing on previously released stamp sets & products available from Uniko Studio for a little refresher for existing & NEW followers!

Today, I decided to use Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time. This set was designed along with Time and Extra Time but I kept it back for a later release. The doilies are created from clock hands which I seem to have a real fascination for!

This is not your normal looking doily set, while it does have a couple of linear stamps which have a lot of detail it has the solid bold stamps too. Perfect for CAS card makers & layerlicious distress card makers & also scrapbookers alike!

This first card uses one of the linear stamps contained in the set. I decided to use the current Freshly Made Sketch for my card layout seen HERE and below and also the current ColourQ challenge colours seen HERE and below.

I stamped the doilies so that there would be enough to add some colour but enough to keep plenty of white space. I used Copic markers to colour the doilies in and added a few rhinestones for a touch of bling!

So after this card I was on a roll and made this one for the current Moxie Fab World Minty Fresh Challenge HERE.

A super simple card layout with a white heat embossed doily stamped over a mat layer adhered with foam adhesive. This took only minutes to make and I can see a nice gift set collection in an array of pastel shades happening to sell at Designers Marketplace in December!

Like the Time & Extra Time sets Decorative Doilies - The Hands Of Time have a digital patterned paper collection available from the website HERE and seen below...

I used a selection of the papers contained to make this card...

I trimmed & created simple banners/ribbons using 3 papers and cut out 2 doily flowers from one of the papers. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. I stamped a couple of the smaller doilies from the stamp set in SU! colours contained in the collection...

So, how about a few projects from when these products were released...

This first photo is a close up of a card using the same stamp & process of Copic colouring asin the first card I shared today. I just love the colours so had to share!

This one uses a bit of Rock 'n' Roll, in a lovely summery colour combo to spread a bit of cheer! My last card today uses the digital paper collection...

I hope you've enjoyed todays product focus?! I'll be back tomorrow for the next instalment! Thanks for stopping by.

Card Mixtures!

Helloooo!

Yes, I am still alive! A few days off to celebrate The Queens Diamond Jubilee ended up being over a week off!! I have to say the rest has done me some good and I have enjoyed both family time & alone time to kick start my creative mojo!

Anyway, enough of the chit chat & how about a few card shares?! I have a mixed bag of styles & colours to share with you today ...

This first card was made whilst in a Patriotic mood! I had been to The Paperlane and treated myself to a few new Memory Box dies. The Simple Banner die was one of them! The Classics digital download papers fit perfectly into The Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations so I used the banner die to cut 3 of the paper designs contained in the collection. I paired it with a 'Celebrate' sentiment from FONTiments - Birthday stamped in Pacific Point from SU! Though the card has a Jubilee/Patriotic feel & colour scheme it can be used for many occasion.

This next card uses another new Memory Box die ...

When I saw this Bubble Daisy Border die I instantly thought of the ditsy floral papers contained in the Joyful Butterfly digital download. This card was super quick & simple & is in a very girly colour scheme! I die cut the border from the paper and adhered it to the card using my quickie glue pen. I added a few pearls to the flower centres.

I then die cut a butterfly from So Saffron CS using PTIs Butterfly Dreams die. I then used a Martha Stewart butterfly punch for the smaller butterfly. The sentiment is from FONTiments - Birthday. Here is a close up photo ...

This next card is the last of the cards for today ...

Doilies & Bling!! I used Stampin' Up! In Colour combo for this card with Calypso Coral taking the focus. I used 3 solid doilies from Decorative Doilies - The Hands of Time and a sentiment from Extra Time.

The ideas are now buzzing around head so I best get to work and put them to paper! Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to those that celebrate it!

Happy Choc Feast day to those that don't!

I'm here today with a quick & easy card to share! I used this weeks retrosketch#6 for the LO of my card you can see the sketch HERE along with the DT samples.

Here's my take on the sketch ...

This is a cute little 10.5 cm square card, I used a post - it note to mask off the centre section before stamping the smallest graphic flower round the edge to create a frame. I then used a white gel pen to create the faux stitching which went a little wonky!

The large graphic flower is stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto white CS fussy cut out. The Medium flower is stamped with the same ink onto Kraft CS and the centre flower fussy cut out. Both the banner and the flower is adhered to the card using foam adhesive.

I enjoyed using this sketch and can see me using it again!

I hope you all have or have had a lovely day! Thanks for stopping by!

Inspired By ...

Hello!

As a designer I find inspiration everywhere! This translates also when it comes to card making! I love to flip through magazines for card layouts and techniques to try. Since Pinterest came along I am finding I am spending A LOT of time there looking at lovely inspiration!

For this card ...

I was inspired by the card below I had seen in Papercrafts Magazine which was also pinned on Pinterest!

I was mainly inspired by the decreasing shades of blue from left to right of the card and the @ shape. I immediately thought of my FAVE clock face and came up with the card above.

Thats all I have to share for today! I'll be back tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Happy Sunday!

Well, if there is one thing I LOVE about Sundays it has to be my Sunday Dinner! LOL! But, your not here to read about that! I'm guessing your here to see who the lucky winner is of the Uniko Studio stamp set of their choice be it Time or Extra Time or one from the upcoming release!

Drumroll please .....

That means LINBY you are the lucky winner. Send me an email with your stamp set choice and address! Thank you for participating in the giveaway and spreading the word about Uniko Studio. I'm sure I will have another giveaway of some sort once the NEW stamps have been released so keep your peepers open!

So, how about a bit of eye candy seeing as you are here ...

I made this lil number Saturday afternoon as I was in the inky groove and was using up scraps which were out on the desk. I don't do this enough and have a BIG box of CS scraps to use up!

This card doesn't need much explaining really! I just used the taller clock hand from Extra Time and stamped off the side of the CS and evenly apart in 4 different ink colours and then stamped the Best Wishes sentiment in the same colour next to it. I use the grid paper stack from SU! to craft on and so it was easy to line the stamped image apart and straight!

I then used a left over banner die cut to stamp the sentiment Happy Birthday from the Time Set & adhere it to the card using foam pads. Some black gems and a lil bulldog clip from SU! and I was done.

Well, I'm back at the drawing board today in the Studio designing some lovely stamps which I can't wait to share with you all!

Thanks for stopping by & have a lovely day!
