Today is my friend & fellow TIME OUT challenge DT member Sandie at London Days birthday. Sandie is one of the loveliest people in blog land & visits and comments all the time to share the love for this hobby. I didn't get time to make a new card this week, but I have this card to share which I mailed out to Sandie yesterday...

For this card I combined Background Builders: Flower Power with Background Builders: Vines a simple layout which showcases the stamps nicely :)

May Blog Hop WINNER!

Hey!

Apologies for my absence, the days have just flown by this week as I've been occupied with hospital appointments & scans on Tuesday, with another 3 hrs spent there, though all is well with the babies and they're growing nicely :) Though it's tiring and so I didn't feel up to much afterwards. 

Yesterday was my birthday and hubby took the day off work and took me shopping and treated me to dinner and the movies, hence no crafting time and today I was spoilt by my friends and took out to lunch and this evening I was out at a relaxation/hypnotherapy session which was very good too. 

Tomorrow I am out walking, lunch & shopping with my MIL so I doubt I will make a card till Saturday! However, I do have a card to share with you tomorrow :)

One for the girls!

It's been a busy day here in the studio as I played prepared the June Release sets to send off to the Design Team, hence my lateness in posting. Yesterday was the May Design Team Blog Hop, where we revisited Background Builders: Round In Circles. There is still time to join in on the hop HERE and comment along the way for your chance to win the set & matching digital patterned paper collection or a Gift Certificate to the same value.

Yesterday I featured a new masculine card using the set and it is one of the cards we made during Saturday's class at The Paperlane. The theme for the class was 'One for a Boy and One for a Girl'. Today I thought I would share the girl version of the card...

I kept exactly the same layout as yesterday's card but changed the colours and switched the set to Background Builders: Vines.

Short & sweet from me again, I'm back at the hospital in the morning for another scan, these fortnights seem to be passing ever so quickly! I hope to be back on the blog tomorrow afternoon with something new to share. Until then, thank you for stopping by today :)

May 2014 Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!

I'm SO happy you've stopped by the blog today as today is March 2014 Design Team Blog Hop.  As we've quite a few new followers here, ("Hello & Thank you") I will explain what's going on! 

Here at Uniko Studio I currently only release new products every other month. This is for a number of reasons, firstly, being an avid paper crafter myself and knowing the current economic climate I know 'some' are on a limited budget when it comes to buying new stash, so this way you're not tempted to splurge too much every month. The second reason is that it is just me here at Uniko Studio HQ. I currently run this little business single handedly, designing, blogging, demoing, classes, packing etc, etc. so releasing every other month gives me chance to keep my head above water, well, just about!

So, on the in-between release months the Design Team & I take a look back at a previously released product, dust it off and give it some love! This month I decided to dust off the previously released Background Builders: Round In Circles clear stamp set which was released HERE back in April 2013.

This set also has a co-ordinating Digital Patterned Paper Collection...

Geometrics still seem to be trending throughout the paper crafting world and they are also FABulous to use for all those hard to make masculine cards.

For this card I decided to make a masculine birthday card. The current Color Throwdown challenge colours seen HERE and below are perfect for a masculine card.

As I'm at The Paperlane today running a class I decided I'd throw it over to the FABulous Uniko Studio customers and show off a few of their projects that I have spotted around blogland...

First up is this beauty of a card by fellow TIME OUT Challenge Design Team member Lynn over at The Mango Boys and Me...

I love Lynn's offset placement of the focal point & such a wonderful use of the ditsy florals contained in the Background Builders:Vines set. I don't think I will EVER tire of seeing these flowers! Be sure to stop on by Lynn's blog HERE for more wonderful inspiration.

Next up is Anita from Neet & Crafty, who has perfectly showcased the April Release, firstly with this card using the Background Builders: Vines set...

They're BACK!

Hey! Happy Friday - YAY! 

If you missed the newsletter or announcement on Facebook yesterday evening you might be happy to hear that there have been a few restocks over on the website. A few old FAVES including Background Builders: Lattice, Pure Florals: Gerbera and BRIGHT Butterflies along with a NEW favourite Background Builders: Vines! 

I decided to ink up and combine a couple of the restocked sets for todays card...

Yep, it's Lattice & Vines! A great combo, even if I do say so myself! I used the current CAS(E) this Sketch! layout seen HERE and below for a starting point and reached for a few colours I wouldn't normally use.
