CAS Colours & Sketches #214

Hey!

It's Tuesday and time for another CAS Colours & Sketches challenge. My apologies for being MIA last week, with the recent Uniko Release HERE and two crazy beans I was so exhausted by the time they went to bed I didn't have the energy to craft :(

Anyway, I am back this week and I've a card to share using THIS weeks sketch by our lovely hostess this month Patricia...

I had so many ideas for this sketch as it is so fun and versatile, this is what I settled on...

Since seeing this weeks challenge over at "Less is More" HERE, which is a theme of leaves and a one layer challenge week I've been itching to ink up Natures Treasures I and join in! So, I combined the challenges ;)

I used a die cut circle mask and my trusty MISTI to stamp 3 of the leaves from the set in 3 different Stampin' Up! ink colours, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive and Lucky Limeade. The sentiment is from Pure Florals: Cosmos and I chose this sentiment as it is one of the longest sentiments I have and represents the sketch beautifully.

Anyway, be sure to check out all the Design Team inspiration HERE on the CAS Colours & Sketches blog and I hope to see you in the gallery :) Challenge End Time: 6:00 p.m. Eastern U.S. time/11:00 p.m. London U.K. time Monday, March 6, 2017

Hugs
Supplies:
Ink: Stampin' Up Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive and Lucky Limeade. VersaFine Onyx Black
Card: Stampin' Up! Thick Whisper White

DT Inspiration - Masking A Stamp

Hello all! It's Jane here today with a card to share that uses the masking technique.

I started my card by using a favourite watercolour technique to create a background panel. More about how that was achieved on my blog - here.

This is how I achieved the stamping:

1. I stamped the tea cup, flower and sentiment using my misti to get good deep colours.

2. I stamped the teacup onto a sticky note and cut it out. I then placed this over my first stamping to mask it all out.

3. I stamped the tea cup and flower using a different colour combo of the inks.

4. I repeated this masking and stamping stage once more using the last colour combo of the inks.

5. I removed the sticky note masks and hey presto my card was done!

I hope you've enjoyed my little photo tutorial and yes I know most of you are old hands at this technique, but just maybe someone new might be looking today. And perhaps if you've not used this technique for a while you'll be inspired to give it another go now I've reminded you about it.

Huge thanks for looking.  And keep crafting!

March 2017 Design Team Blog Hop & GIVEAWAY!

Hey & Happy Weekend!

It's the 11th of the month, which means as it is not a release month (sorry, I promise it'll be worth the wait till next month) the Design Team and I are here today with the usual Design Team Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!

This month we have decided to dust off and revisit the previously released Some Bunny clear stamp set...

This clear stamp set was released last year HERE and is one of the only two 'cute' sets I have designed! The introduction to this set can be seen HERE and the set also has a Pinterest page HERE, in which you can find lots of inspiration using it.

As usual I have picked a couple of my 'old' favourites using this set...

This next card is by DT Alumni Amy Gray...

Now, how about some fresh new inspiration using this set AND don't forget to comment along the Design Team blogs to be in the chance of winning the Some Bunny clear stamp set and an £10 eGift Certificate.  Or a £15 Gift Certificate if you already own the clear stamps. You have until Midnight GMT Friday 25th March to get your comments in.

WINNER of the February & 5th Birthday Release!

Hey!

My apologies for being MIA for so long, you have all kept me busy with orders since the February & 5th Birthday Release - THANK YOU!

I've also been busy behind the scenes prepping for the next release & Uniko's trip to Happy Stampers Festival in May, more of that another day. Once all the backorders have been packed and shipped I hope to be back on form with creating and inspiring you all here on the blog ;)

Anyway, I am popping in tonight to announce the WINNER of the blog hop HERE, we had for the February & 5th Birthday Release. Random.org helped me pick the lucky comment...

In order of the hop the lucky commenter is...

Mary Holshouser said...
the cards are fantastic.
I love the first two - the
partial coloring on the first
and the use of part of the
sentiment on the second was
a great idea.
the red daisy and the uncolored
portion used on the inside of
the card was wonderful.
thanks for sharing so much
inspiration.

Congratulations Mary! Please send me an email to bev@uniko.co.uk by Thursday 23rd March 2017 along with your postal address. I can then get your goodies on the way to you.

THANK YOU to everyone who left such lovely comments along the hop and for making the February & 5th Birthday the BEST release ever to date - you are all awesome.

Hugs to you all.

DT Inspiration - Stamps with Acrylics

Hello - it is Sarah G on the Uniko blog today :)  I hope you are having a good weekend....

I wanted to stop by with a pretty framed picture and hanging decoration featuring Uniko's Originally Organic stamps.  Here is what I made:

I painted a piece of mountboard and sweet hanging house white and stamped and embossed the lovely florals.  I painted them with acrylic paints.  On the flowers I shaded with white to add a bit of extra interest.  Finally I added some details with a white acrylic paint pen.  I love that these Uniko stamps are delicate and pretty but also open enough to be able to paint.

Here is a closer look at the framed picture.  I backed it with some lightly textured white card.

It is great to be able to use stamps on items of home décor as well as cards.  They make great gifts and are so easy to make :)

Thank you for visiting us at Uniko today - I hope you are inspired to use your stamps in different ways.
